RESILIENCE FINDS A WAY

James Webb’s life is the American dream in a nutshell. Born to teenage parents in Laurel, Mississippi, and faced with a future working in the town’s only two factories, James chose to change his fate and forge his own path―to become a titan of business, a mentor, and a philanthropist.

In Redneck Resilience, James shares stories of amazing wins and devastating losses, of sin and redemption, of recovery and forward momentum. Most importantly, he discusses the benefits and advantages of resilience. James uses his own life to illustrate truths about success in life and in business, including:

• Failures happen, and resilience vanquishes failure.
• No lesson or experience is ever wasted.
• When opportunity presents itself, take the risk.
• A true entrepreneur works for no one.
• You cannot succeed on your own.
• And much more.

Resilient people never take their eye off where they’re going, even when they get knocked down. They refocus. Resilience isn’t worried about the odds. Resilience finds a way.

What do rednecks have to persevere through, being around colored people? I’m not understanding why this is even a book and why the author thought it would be a great idea to title this book redneck resilience. I didn’t read this book, but was annoyed when I found out about it. This screams uneducated to me

A Good Read
Webb tells a compelling tale of overcoming adversity to achieve success. I’m not necessarily a huge fan of medical imaging, but I feel like I need to be more familiar with the business side of it to understand how Webb built his fortune. It’s okay to portray medicine as a business; I, personally, suffer from a rare disease that will never see a cure because there’s no profit to be made from putting research toward it. Healthcare is a mess in this country; I wish Webb had gone into more detail.

I can’t really say more without giving away spoilers, but suffice to say the author has had to overcome a significant amount of heartbreak to achieve his success. This was a quick and enjoyable read; ,y thanks to NetGalley for allowing me access to an ARC.

While the author overcame many obstacles in his life to be successful, I didn't feel like he was a very relatable person. I know a lot of people who have also overcome many obstacles in their lives, but they don't seem to be as arrogant as the author sounded to me. I felt that he also came across as a bit cold hearted when telling some of his stories about his family and how he treated some coworkers. His idea of work-life balance is definitely different than mine. I felt sorry that he lost his wife to cancer.
Thanks for the free book.

The story of Webb’s life was interesting enough that I almost felt like I was reading a novel. That is what took it from a 3 star to a 4 star book for me. I enjoyed the “story.” I became engaged enough to want to know where the story ends.
But an unavoidable problem of any auto biography touting the author’s success is the hint of arrogance. There is little doubt of his financial success. But he makes some assertions I have a hard time buying into. I read somewhere where nobody lying on their death bed ever said, “I wish I’d spent more time at the office.” My impression from this book is that Mr. Webb might be the person to say that.
He belabors delayed gratification and hard work. He then chronicles risking his life while gone from family and friends for months. He loses family members, but expresses no regret for the time away from them when they were alive.
I’m not disparaging the traits of hard work and delayed gratification, but Webbs doesn’t believe in a balance between work and life. He insists they are the same thing. And in his world, they probably are. He expresses no regret for the time away on the job that he didn’t spend with loved ones. I suspect that most of the human race will see things differently.
My impression of the author was a man as crippled in human connections and he was gifted in working ones. Because he is so dedicated to this viewpoint, he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know. He can’t imagine that most people have a connection with family, and non-work life, that he has never felt and can’t understand or imagine.
He continually insists that “money” isn’t the goal. I believe him. But what he doesn’t seem to understand is that he’s chronicling that the POWER money brings that is the thing. Ultimately, that seems to be his measure of success. The underlying theme of every chapter is control of other people. Some bye intimidation, some bye finances, others bye charm.
He is a salesman and has sold himself on his world view. A lot of people will envy his path and try to emulate it. Others, not so much.

This man persuaded at all levels of life. James came from a very low-income background, but he kept changing. Way things In his life. Yeah many different careers. James Had R e s I l , e , n , c , e , do you things in life professionally and personally. You did many different careers in his life. He started his career by going to school and becoming Ara DIOLO. G He did this for 40 years, but he had different Companies which eventually sold. He then moved to Dallas in 1983 and he was working at a local Local Hospital where he was the directory of radiology.
Ou are really allergic. And then moved into the fitness franchises. Called Orange theory he eventually owned thirty three of those All over northern Texas.. He also ran a thing called b balance centers which were for health. You then went into and then he went on to own dog grooming, Francis will. He was pretty interesting because he every challenge he had in this book. He just said OK, I'm gonna do it. I also mention one of my favorite movies call elizabeth town. This is a guy whose father dies in the movie. But he was a shoes person for a sneaker. And he was the big new hot guy but the shoes failed. He realized how short his life was. And he was looking for a way to start a new life. The thing that hit home. He always wanted to plan a trip with his father across country and that did not happen. He meets this girl in the movie. And he realizes how much he's missed in life. I think the movie kind of ties in with james because opportunity knocks when you least expect it. You take everything in life and try the best you can. You never fail because you keep trying new things. You think the worst moment this is not gonna work but it does. People are afraid to change. They like to stay in one little corner and that's it. I think if you keep changing and bracing new ideas you expand who you are. James went from being in the medical field to a fitness to health and dogs. He took these opportunities to grow and learn. You can make anything you want in life, but don't be negative. Erase new ideas and you're off

James Harold Webb’s book Redneck Resilience was an advice book tied up like a memoir. James writes about his humble beginnings in rural Mississippi, starting with nothing and becoming an X-ray tech, making against the odds. Throughout his life, he made friends along the way. He writes that he became successful, not because of skill or intelligence, but because of resilience and the willingness to work hard at things and not give up.

Each chapter has a “moral” written at the end, or its “Redneck Recap”. It seems like life advice maybe more for his children, but not harmful for others to read and live by. Things like “never compromise your principles” and “take the risk when opportunities present themselves” are always good advice. He has make a prosperous life and wants to share the wealth, so to speak.

The book is a fairly quick read and describes a life full of mistakes but no reason to regret them. Webb seems to say, learn from them, work hard and never give up and you will go far. I do think the use of “Redneck” could be offensive to some people, but I guess as the saying goes, it takes one to know one, and he is not being disrespectful, but making a point that our lives are not predetermined and we have the power to change things.

This is a great book about James‘s growing up in Laurel Mississippi and ultimately leaving there to build a life with integrity and all the lessons he learned in the small town from which he came. It is true that everyone has a story in this story is about James Harold Webb but could be about anyone and how the lessons we learn when we’re little or ultimately what helps us make decisions later in life. I found Mr. Webb’s biography very interesting not just because I didn’t know where Laurel Mississippi was but because he has let up very interesting life unlike most biographies this one isn’t written to tell you about what a great person James Harold web is but the kind of person he is he doesn’t pat his cell phone the bath throughout the book the lays down the facts and tells you the stories whether funny or sad and let you be the judge I really appreciated that about this book and I am so glad I read it. I don’t read many biographies nor do I like most of the ones I read but I did like this one and highly recommend it. I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

Just the kind of book that I wanted to read these days! Redneck Resilience: A Country Boy’s Journey To Prosperity is a book written by James Harold Webb that tells readers about his personal journey to success and finances. From a countryside boy who grew up in a simple town in Mississippi, James strived so hard to achieve his goal in life. Of course it wasn't a smooth journey as he had his fair share of ups and downs, but because of those experiences, we learn that although it's never that easy to achieve what you want in life, it's definitely worth it when you give your best. The book, for me, offered so much motivation. I for one, came from the countryside, so there's always this feeling of insecurity inside me that makes me feel like I'm very inferior compared to everyone in almost every aspect. But through this book, I learned that that's not true for sure. Even if you came from nothing, success could not be measured through that. This book was well-written and well-delivered. I also loved that it includes photo snippets that gave us more glimpse about James' life.

Author James Webb has been a precursor and
leader in a variety of successful business enterprises. In Redneck Resilience, James shares his life story and how he overcame obstacles and difficulties to become a successful businessman and philanthropist. The author demonstrates the importance of resilience
in achieving our goals and achieving success through his experiences.

It is a book that has captivated me from
the start. Webb shares anecdotal stories and lessons learned from his career, providing practical and motivational advice to those seeking success in their personal and professional lives. Although the book is mainly about business, the lessons and principles
presented can be applied to any aspect of life.

The author not only shares success stories,
but also failure stories and how to overcome them, making the book both inspiring and realistic. I recommend this book to anyone looking for motivation and guidance in their life.

Redneck resilience is a book that I found very good and deep, I believe very much in books that propose changes in people's lives based on real events and the author's experiences. These books that try to help people make changes and improve their lives in different aspects seem ideal to me and the authors who risk giving this help are incredible.

In this book, you will be able to read the experiences of a person who had absolutely nothing and came to achieve unimaginable economic and personal success, he talks about the importance of seeing opportunities in any circumstance of life, that is what the author did Getting out of your difficulties and dark thoughts to see what life offers us is the first step to get ahead and fulfill your dreams.

I highly recommend it and even more if you are in that path to find your goal, especially professional and financial, you will find many tips and guides to achieve it, clearly based on what he experienced and how things worked in his case.

“Redneck Resilience: a Country Boy’s Journey to Prosperity” by James Harold Webb is a very motivating read full of real-life anecdotes which the adept author describes vividly. Within its intriguing pages, we learn that all things are possible if we just remain resilient. That one word, “resilience” is the most defining word of the entire biography. At the beginning of each chapter, the author has written some thoughts on what resilience really is and means. This is a very inspiring book for anyone who wants to make a scintillating success story of their life and business. As James Webb writes, we shouldn’t ask “Why?” but rather “Why not?” I really like that this book is a blend of autobiography and inspiring advice. Whether you’re seeking to make your life or business a greater success, this book is a must.

Resilience

Hailing from a small town in Mississippi, the author chose not to work in one of the town's two factories, and instead forged his own way. This book is his recounting of that story of how he found prosperity. In order to find Prosperity even in a time of famine, we all have to learn how to take risks that makes sense, as well as lean on others when we need to, and much more lessons that are all within this book. Told Turtle lens of his own story The Guidance and information that the author conveys to you will make much more sense and because you can see that he was able to make it coming from the poor upbringing that he did, any excuses that we might have that we can't do it, won't fly anymore. I found this book to be very interesting read and I thoroughly enjoyed it and think I can get a lot of information that I can use in my own life.

When I started reading the book, I first felt surprised, then moved and amazed at the writer’s absorbing story. His life has been a journey through some fascinating places and through some life-changing events, some good and some bad. This book is very well-written. The author tells his memoir in a very direct and straightforward way which makes the book extremely appealing and engaging.
Redneck Resilience: A Country Boy’s Journey to Prosperity by James Harold Webb is a fascinating, thought provoking book in which the author narrates his own story. The novel describes the power of resilience and how people can achieve anything they desire, and illustrates these theoretical beliefs with the author’s own experiences and examples from his life. I enjoyed this book a lot and I strongly recommend it.

Redneck Resilience: A Country Boy’s Journey To Prosperity by James Harold Webb is an inspiring story about the author's journey to success. It's a story about how a country boy from Mississippi earned his way to wealth. He talked about his town, his background and the challenges he had to encounter to become who he is now, a wealthy entrepreneur. It is very inspiring how he persevered in attaining his goal even with the challenges he had encountered most especially the loss of a loved one. I like the passage in the book about resilience, how you have to reset after a loss and then finding a way to move forward. All in all, this is a great and inspiring book, I too have my fair share of challenges and looking at other people’s journey makes me feel brave to seize every day and see a glimpse of what is yet to come. Great and inspiring book.

An interesting book
“Redneck Resilience” is an inspiring and teaching book written by James Harold Webb.
Throughout these pages, the author tells part of his story since he was a teenager and went along a new path for his life. He talks about his hits, failures, and losses but also the way he found to overcome many of those harsh situations.
It's an interesting and well-developed book that will help people visualize what is important for life. He highlighted the idea that whenever an opportunity appears, then you´ll have to take the risk but remembering that you also need to count on people. I think that he gives a positive outlook about life, work, family and relationships. I liked the way James put into words his experiences, both the good and bad ones. I learned a lot and I highly recommend it.

An interesting story of a country-raised boy’s story growing up simply and ending up becoming extremely successful. We get to read about the author’s life and his hard work to achieve the goals and success in his life. Webb’s life journey was a great read and share of his personal experiences including his own failures, setbacks, and mistakes but through his hard work and perseverance, his dreams could come true. I loved how personable Webb is and the sharing of family life, pictures, and down-to-earth wording, and feel that this book provided. It’s a great reminder that our backgrounds do not have to define us and provides motivation when (for me) is most needed. Oftentimes, country folk are seen as less, and though there are inner issues; being from the country doesn’t have to fit the stereotypes that are placed on it.

Amazing book

What an interesting and inspiring story, it definitely managed to surprise me as a book has done for a long time.
From the first page you are hooked and eager to continue learning from the stories and teachings shown to us readers.
The book is about a man who went through difficult situations to later become a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist and mentor.
The author begins by telling how resilience and not giving up was key to his success and shares tools to take advantage of the opportunities that come our way in life.
What I liked the most is that this book left me with a supremely important message about the need to always be surrounded by people who help us achieve success, since no one can prosper alone.
I highly recommend this great book, I really learned a lot from this reading.

At first sight this book seems to be a Sherlock novel, but totally on the contrary it is a book in which the author puts his life experience and shares interesting stories that have to do with winning and losing, sin and redemption but most importantly about resilience, a word we have been hearing a lot lately, but do we really know what it means?
I really liked this author’s comment because I think it exemplifies resilience excellently: “Resilient people never take their eye off where they’re going, even when they get knocked down. They refocus. Resilience isn’t worried about the odds. Resilience finds a way.”.
I liked the book; I enjoyed reading it from beginning to end. It gave me a lot to think about and I read it in just a sitting; it’s not very long.

An inspiring and motivational memoir – a must-read.

From amazing victories and crushing defeats to recovery and moving forward, he shows throughout this biography that perseverance is what separates successful people from those who fail to seize their chances. Redneck Resilience is the real story of the author's life. The story of how he was born into a country low life to becoming a successful businessman. Also, the approach he has with his numerous wins and losses as a young man, of recovery and redemption, but most importantly, how the events of his life led him to a resilient person.
The narrative is written with such dedication that it clearly shows how much the author wishes for the reader not only to enjoy the chapters but also to learn valuable lessons, personally and professionally. To add, the story was also inspirational showing that with hardwork and dedication you can achieve your goals, and hopefully, your dreams. If you're looking for inspirational lessons in life, I would recommend this book to you!

Redneck Resilience is an enjoyable story of one man's journey from poor Mississippi country boy to wealthy entrepreneur and business owner. I somehow had expected more of the story to be how he broke out of his small hometown, with more specific advice for people who feel stuck in poverty and few life choices. There was indeed a little bit of info on that, but the majority of the book was about his business and entrepreneurial experiences, failures, successes, relationships, and good life and business lessons. The book was very interesting, a short read, written in a direct and easy to read conversational style. He mixes the story of his life (personal and business both) with business lessons and management styles. Good read for someone wanting to go into business for themselves.

In his biography, “Redneck Resilience: a Country Boy’s Journey to Prosperity,” James Harold Webb demonstrates with a detailed description of his rags to riches life that everything is achievable if you just persevere and have resilience. This engaging memoir has one turning the pages, as one wants to find out how the “country boy” forged his way and became a successful business entrepreneur, leader, investor and advisor. The book ultimately inspires one to also make the most of one’s life and to never give up. No matter how many setbacks one faces along the way, if one keeps focusing forward one will remain resilient. My favorite quote from this book is “Endurance is an essential element of resilience. Keep on. Persevere. Trust what you know.” This is an inspiring read.

Redneck Resilience: A Country Boy’s Journey To Prosperity by James Harold Webb is an autobiographical account of the philanthropist’s life, starting in a small town in Mississippi and leading him toward his future as a prominent business figure. Webb’s story is the American dream—to create fortune from dust with the right guts and work ethic. It was inspirational to read about how little he truly expected to accomplish versus the resilience evident in his tone. Even as he was starting his own business for the first time, owed more than he had, was told no more times than yes, Webb never seemed to take a break or give up. It was uplifting in moments that he got lucky with things like his partners and staff.

This author is a genius

At this time in my life, when I am seeking to grow professionally, but also looking for the tools to achieve success, this book has become my driving force. The failures have been constant and are configured as hard knocks, but I believe that the teachings of this book have transformed those knocks into real learning. Webb's perspective, his stories, his experiences and the way he guides us through the pages, make you feel revitalized, wanting to start on the road to success, leaving behind even more fears and barriers that usually arise during the process. It has made me understand that the capabilities we have are very great, it is to learn to focus them in an efficient and assertive way. Highly recommended, it has helped me a lot.

Redneck Resilience is a book written for fighters. It is the story of James Webb, the author, who shares with the reader all the road he went through to become a successful entrepreneur, starting from scratch.

It is always a pleasure to read these life stories. I admire people who develop this perseverance, and who are willing to risk everything in order to be successful. I´m just not like that, but it's something I'm trying to acquire over time, the dream of being your own boss is out there, and I think this book helped me to stand up and start looking for opportunities. Problems will always occur, and the way we choose to deal with them is what I take from this biography.

“Redneck Resilience: A Country Boy’s Journey To Prosperity”is an autobiographical book written by author James Harold Webb. In it, James tells his story, from his childhood to his adulthood and how he went on to have a prosperous life

From my point of view, the author is a great storyteller, the resources used by him are very good and that undoubtedly catches the reader.

After reading, I was left with this quote, which ultimately summarizes the main theme of this book. "Resilient people never take their eye off where they're going, even when they get knocked down. They refocus. Resilience isn't worried about the odds. Resilience finds a way."

As its title suggests, this book is about resilience. The main character, James Webb, walks us through the typical American dream and its ups and downs.
Written with a somehow emotional tone, the narrative is appealing to any reader that would like to have an inspirational tale in front of them.
The book teaches a lot of lessons and it highlights the fact that almost nothing in this life can be learned alone, without someone to be there for us or near us pushing us.
Redneck Resilience is a gift, a treat to the eyes, and a good sign that that journey we have undertaken when we were born, life itself, is neither easy nor difficult. Loved it!

An inspiring story of James Webb, who built a successful business from scratch. The heroic persona of James and his willpower to change his fate are the stars of this book. While discussing his life story, the author gives countless valuable lessons on rising from failure, banking on opportunities, and several others. It is a gem, especially for entrepreneurs who feel a lack of motivation when encountering failure. The book offers wholesome insights about reaching the height of success while dealing with setbacks and failure. I would highly recommend this inspirational life story to everyone seeking ways to achieve their ambitions. It is definitely a goldmine of valuable life lessons.
