I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, I am in love with this author’s words! Shauna, you’ve created another masterpiece and I love it!
This story had me laughing from the very first page, and every page after that was pure gold. Ava was a girl after my own heart (I love the 90s too) and Danny was the epitome of what a gorgeous book boyfriend should be. Their story was fun, flirty and so sweet that I was annoyed when real life got in the way of me reading.
I’m really hoping we get another instalment. I’d love to read Charlie’s story! Hell, I’ll read any story Shauna writes. A fabulous 5 unicorn, doughnuts and roller skates stars from me.
This story had me laughing from the very first page, and every page after that was pure gold. Hilarious Amazing Best Friend to Love!!! MUST READ!!! Highly Recommend!!!
This book is FANTASTIC! Yes, I am yelling this because it needs to be shouted from the rooftops how amazing it is. This book, is the sunshine this world needs right now!!! I was in a book funk and saw this FANTASTIC cover and immediately downloaded the book. I had no idea what it was about. I just started reading it. I got 17% in and messaged my book bestie that she had to read it! It is that amazing. I was laughing so hard! Shauna’s writing is funny and perfection!
First, Ava and Danny’s relationship is amazing. They literally have been friends forever, so their quirks they each have, they are comfortable with and used too. They are their for each other. They love each other as you would love your bestie. And now that feelings have come into play and things are about to get really good, they are nervous what to do. I just loved the fun playful banter Ava and Danny had back and forth. I loved how funny their families were, their mom’s “shipping” their relationship before it was even one, had me cracking up! Most of all, I loved Ava. She is a pink and blue haired spitfire, who is obsessed with the nineties. The book’s playlist will be on repeat in my house over and over!!!
I literally can’t get over how beautiful this cover is. The cover model is exactly how I picture Ava to look/act. Bubbly, beautiful, bold and so incredibly fun! I need to express too again the humor within this book is amazing. The book had me laughing out loud! The pop culture references were hilarious! Their was no extra drama in the storyline. The book flowed perfectly and was so believable! It was entertaining to read! It captured me and I didn’t want to put the book down!
Finally, the epilogue! That was the hottest epilogue I have ever read. Nothing is better in an epilogue than the story wrapping up exactly how you could have hoped it would or in an even better way than you hoped it would! That epilogue was hot and amazing!!! This book deserves all the praise and all the stars. This was my first time reading any of Shauna McDonnell’s books but it won’t be the last. I highly recommend this book, it is a MUST READ and give it all the stars and praise! I mean the cover alone should have you smiling!!!

Sexy, romantic, and hilarious!
Ms. McDonnell has nailed the balance between sexy romance and humorous fun in this delightful friends-to-lovers romcom! I am a sucker for a sarcastic, cynical and spunky heroine, so Ava was exactly my cuppa Joe. And Danny, don't get me started on this sexy as sin and handsome MMA fighter with a heart of gold who is in love with his bouncy, cotton candy-haired best friend. Both of these characters are gorgeous inside and out and I LOVED reading their story and enjoyed their dynamic so much. Any thing less than five stars is unthinkable!

What If It's You by Shauna McDonnell is a standalone best friends to lovers romance.
This is the second book of Shauna's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. Shauna does an amazing job pulling me into the storyline. I binged the book in one sitting! I absolutely loved the relationship between Ava and Danny.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves best friends to lovers romance, contemporary romance, or romantic comedies.

This is a great short friends to lovers read, a fun and funny boost of serotonin. Avie is adorably quirky. Danny is hot, hot, hot and the two of them together are sweet and spicy and golden. This was a pleasure to read.

I've said this many times before, but I'll say it again, I absolutely love Shaunas writing! 😍 I adore the 4clover series but this is by far my favorite book she has written thus far.
I was laughing from the beginning to end. Ava is a carefree, 90s music lover, the Unicorn is her favorite animal and she has a thing for sweets, especially donuts 🍩 . Danny is a MMA fighter who is nursing an injury and spends most of those weeks before his fight with Ava.
Ava and Danny have been bffs forever. They literally know each other to perfection. Know each others likes, dislikes and are extremely comfortable with each other.
When feelings come into play and things start becoming more than friends, they are nervous about what to do. Their families have been "shipping" them since they were kids. I loved the playful banter they had with each other.
This Cover! 😘 love love love it! I literally felt all emotions with this book. But the humor and romance balanced each other perfectly. The book flowed perfectly, I did not want to put it down * only did for sleep 😂*, picked it right back up the next morning.
I definitely recommend this book if you are an 80s baby, your fave music and clothes are from the 90s because that is the epitome of this novel.

This is the perfect light and easy read that is simply going to brighten your day...
It needs to be slapped with a warning label though because, this book may cause any of the following things to occur...
🦄Outbursts of laughter at any given time
🍩Fanning yourself over incredibly hot 🔥 scenes
🦄Excessive smiling
🍩The inability to put this book down
🦄A completely irrational need to hit your local Starbucks and consume a Unicorn Frappuccino with the most colorful donut you can find!!
This book was Sugar, Spice, and EVERYTHING IRRESISTIBLY ADORABLE! The chemistry between Ava and Danny just light up each page! The push and pull between these two lifelong best friends was so damn entertaining. I seriously couldn't put this book down! I was laughing and smiling the entire time reading it! Like the cover teases, this book is just bursting with fun! You are going to gobble it up and come back for more! For Shauna's first attempt into the romcom genre, I have to say that she NAILED IT! Jam packed with 90's references, meddling family members, and some pretty hot sexual tension...this book was PERFECTION from beginning to end!

This was just what I needed! This was laugh out loud, and a fun read. From the first page I was hooked. I read the whole book in one sitting and felt like I was in this little world the author had made.
Ava and Danny have been friends forever. Their banter and relationship was just perfect.

This was a fun and chemistry-filled friends to lovers that I would definitely read again!
I loved how we got to see what their friendship was like before things started to get heated. Right from the start you can feel there was more to their relationship than friendship and I needed to know why they were holding back and when they were going to give in! The realization that they have both always wanted more and will continue to because of avoidable circumstances always gets me with this trope and I thoroughly enjoy it.
The main characters were dynamic and very likeable, but also unique. This was an easy read (I devoured it in a day) and I soaked up all it's cute, funny, sexy goodness.
I LOVE a good friends to lovers and this delivered everything I could want, but without all the angst some friends to lovers books have.
If you want a feel-good friends to lovers rom-com, I highly recommend this one!

THIS WAS SO GOOD!!!! I binge read it over one night and one morning, and just YES!!!! It hits all the right notes between funny and sweet, and the characters are so very likeable. This is a book that warms the heart and creates smiles. Great job!

I really enjoyed this quirky romance. It was laugh out loud funny and I couldn't put it down. Just what I needed. It was well written and flowed well. If you want a great, low angst, almost drama free read then pick up this book. You won't be disappointed. Great job Shauna.

In one word - Ava. So brilliantly quirky and sassy, she didn’t give a crap what anyone thought of her, and that’s my kind of heroine. This unicorn loving hairdresser and her best friend Danny have been friends their whole life, and things take an unexpected turn when Ava realises that she’s in love with him. And judging by the description of Danny, I can’t say that I blame her. An Irish six foot five, tattooed MMA fighter? Ding ding ding, we have officially hit the hottie jackpot!
I absolutely adored the banter and chemistry between Danny and Ava. When Danny moves in with Ava after breaking up with his girlfriend, I was like ‘this is where the good shit starts’. I also loved the dynamic between both Danny and Ava’s families; having grown up with an Irish Mam myself, I could definitely relate.
A wonderfully warm and hilarious friends to lovers story, I devoured this in a matter of hours and I’m looking forward to reading more of Shauna McDonnell’s books.

The story was too short, I would have gladly read another hundred pages of this book. Oh, and the fact that Danny isn’t real. Absolutely gutted.

Ava will be one of my top favourite heroines ever. She’s playful, hilarious and quirky! Such a little spitfire! A sarcastic hair stylist who knows who she is and doesn’t pull any punches. Says what she means and means what she says! Some of the things she says though... she has this sexual, playful sense of humour, that sarcasm that had me laughing out loud... right from the start!
But you see, Ava is utterly in love with her best friend Danny. So naturally, she’s heading into the online world of dating. Lousy dating that is. Is she not finding Mr. Right, because he’s been by her side all along?
Oh, Danny boy. A boy he is not. He is strong and sexy. An MMA fighter. And the perfect partner for Ava. You get some small peeks into their friendship growing up as well that I adored, really just cementing their connection. Which allowed them to progress their relationship rather quickly, feeling natural for them.
And can we talk about the 90’s flashback... I adored it! And I’m hoping this isn’t the last we hear from these side characters either! Calling it now, my favourite romcom of the year. Don’t miss this one!

This book is what my dreams are made of! The cotton candy pastel hair, the love of all things 90s (with the BEST playlist to go with it) and the exact 30th birthday party I wanted!
What if it’s You is a fun and quick read is set in Ireland and told in dual POV. Friends to lovers isn’t my favorite trope, but with a cover like that I couldn’t pass it up! I loved the title as well because as cute as the cover is, the title hints at a little more emotion and that truly is what you find in Ava and Danny’s story.
Ava is a little quirky but hilarious and is the perfect match for her life long best friend Danny (who I imagine to be a sweeter version of Conor McGregor), but they seem to be the only people who haven’t realized they are meant to be, at least in the beginning. Their story is low in angst and heavy on the laughs, but you could really feel the deep love they shared not only for each other but also for their close (and also funny) families. Add in the hot chemistry between them and there really is nothing to dislike about this book!
Crossing my fingers that there are more books to come as I’d love to find out what happens to Ava’s best friend and Danny’s brothers. This is the first book I’ve read by Shauna McDonnell and it won’t be my last!

Hilarious; dreamy friendship to lovers story and a 90’s playlist -what else would you want from a book?
A laugh out loud & steamy romance is exactly what we all need right now. The first page sums up what it is like to be single in your 20’s right now, I laughed so hard when I read it. We can all relate to Ava in her struggles with growing old and not wanting to growing up, or as Ava says not having our sh**together or even knowing where it is! Danny & Ava have always been there for each other since they were babies, however sparks flying begin to blur the lines of their friendship. The author Shauna has so many witty lines that just make you laugh so hard. And the nostalgia of the 90’s? I felt like I was reading a book about myself.
‘What If It’s You’ is exactly what everyone needs after this past year. This book has genuinely lifted my mood significantly. Thank you Shauna! I highly recommend this book and definitely one I’ll be buying as gifts for friends.

Shauna always has me coming back to her for more romance.
She has done it again with this hilarious friends to lovers romance with sass. Ava is one of my new favorite characters from all of Shauna’s books. She’s sassy, witty, and those one-liners are the best. She’s a one-of-a-kind character, someone anyone would love to be friends with. And for Danny, he’s lucky to have such a best friend. As soon as I picked it up to read, I knew I wouldn’t be able to put it down once I started. Shauna has a way of bringing the reader into this world she’s created and making them so invested in her characters. Not to mention the way she brings us all back to the 90s. There were so many references that had me cracking up.

She has done it again with this hilarious friends to lovers romance with sass. Ava is one of my new favorite characters from all of Shauna’s books. She’s sassy, witty, and those one-liners are the best. She’s a one-of-a-kind character, someone anyone would love to be friends with. And for Danny, he’s lucky to have such a best friend. Every author has a book ... THE book. And I think this might be the one for Shauna McDonnell.
It’s sassy and perfectly paced.
Just look at the cover. Never has a cover fit a story so well. I loved it from the day she revealed it and when I read the first page, I held my breath wondering if she’d follow it through.
When I laughed out loud on the first, then the second ... in fact every page of the book, I knew she had. I can’t remember laughing as much at a book as I did this one.
Both of the main characters were bold and could have been hard to navigate at times but at no point did the author waiver. She stayed true to them throughout and it was magical to read. And in the meantime she managed to make them relatable too.
My only gripe with this book. That it wasn’t part of a series because I didn’t want it to end.
I won’t go into anything else. I don’t need to. Read. This. Book.

What a brilliant rom-com!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, especially but not limited to the 90s playlist at the beginning (totally made that on amazon music and love it by the way).
Ava. A quirky hairdresser with blue & pink hair, a love of unicorns & doughnuts, and a 90s obsession.
She is everything I love in a heroine.
Hard working. Witty. Sarcastic. Sassy. Strong. Confident. Loving.
Danny. A personal trainer & semi-pro MMA fighter on the cusp of his big break.
He's funny. Sarcastic. Protective (but not overbearing). And Ava's best friend.
This pair have been best friends their entire life, and watching them make the transition from friend to lover was frustrating as hell at points, but I loved it.
Some fantastically funny moments that made me laugh out loud, and a couple of moments that made my eyes leak liquid emotion.
This book was a lovely, quick read that gave me all the feels without leaving me drained.
I couldn't put it down!

Like a unicorn farting sparkles, this book is a rainbow of awesomeness.
This is a cute best friends to lovers story. The book cover first caught my eye and I’m so glad I stopped to take a look. If you love the 90s, a sassy quirky FMC, and a hunky up and coming MMA fighter than this book is definitely for you.

A laugh out loud, steamy read! This book is exactly what we all need right now... laughter sprinkled with love! I'm a sucker for friends to lovers stories and this one did not disappoint! So fun with just enough drama to keep the pages turning, all the while creating a world for readers to get lost in. Well done, Shauna!

What if it's you. God, what a beautifully hilarious lovestory, Ava and Danny's journey from friends to lovers was the story I needed but I just didn't know it yet. This story made my heart swell, my insides ache with laughter and my cheeks hurt from smiling so hard. They were so perfect for each other, so thoughtful and so loving, even just as best friends, their bond was like no other. Everyone around them knew they were perfect for each other, and I think deep down they knew it too. They both just needed a good kick up the ass to push past their fears to see that it would be so worth it in the end. I absolutely adored this story and so happy I was able to be apart of Shauna's ARC team to review it! As always another beautiful story, beautifully written with every other line making me laugh until it hurt. Thank you for writing yet another amazing story! 💖

Holy Hilarity!! I can’t express how much I enjoyed What If It’s You by Shauna McDonnell. I absolutely loved this super sweet best-friends-to-lovers story. I giggled the entire time while reading this book that was full of humour, emotion, and swoon-worthy moments, it has all the feels, and it was easy to get lost in the story of Ava and Danny. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down, it ended way too soon. This was my first read by Shauna McDonnell but definitely not my last!!

I loved the dynamic between Ava and Danny. They were so natural and genuine. Danny loved Ava for her quirks and all. Their families were amazing and so funny with their ‘told you so’ speeches.
This is the HEA every one deserves!

Two best friends secretly in love with each other. How long can they fight their feelings? And what happens when they give in?
Holy Moly! Ava is absolutely hysterical and Danny is drool worthy! Danny’s relationship proposal was absolutely perfect! And that first date was EPIC!! Their relationship is totally #relationshipgoals. The whole story was so well written, a total rom-com, I could see myself re-reading many times! It’s definitely a fun read! Don’t Miss It!
PS- I lovvvve all the 90’s references! As a 90’s kid this was such a great trip down memory lane!

I just loved Ava's funny positive attitude. This book made me laugh a couple of times and you just wish you could find someone like Danny. They had their rough path and had to learn a lot from each other. So when it came to the whole BF/GF deal they had to put effort and I believe everything starts with a really great friendship. Great, great book and I cannot wait for her next clover book😍🍀

Reading this story I was reminded how hilarious are the Irish- I have always loved their sense of humour and perspective on life.
I also confess to my inner dialogue reading this story with a very bad Irish accent.
Being a 90’s tragic I fell for this story first page- it’s a well paced, friends to lovers stand alone by Shauna McDonnell. I love all the characters in this feel good story that’s made my Easter weekend (and left me craving for donuts) 5 ⭐️

Danny and Ava are adorable! This best friends to lovers romance was so sweet and brought back fun memories of the 90's. Danny is an MMA hopeful and Ava is a quirky hairdresser that have been friends since the womb. That friendship has grown through the years but we really get to see their story from already in love but not telling each other to falling in love and getting their HEA.
