STORY:
WHAT I LIKED:
I liked the story and incorporating magic and shifter in book 2. In Book 1, Em and Andre did not get along, or more it’s Andre, that was not welcoming. What I like about this series, is that this pack were turn by magic and they are figuring out being a shifter as they go along. I am not really a fan of rocker romances, but with the shifter and magic incorporated it was pleasant to read. I liked Em and her her attraction to Andre and vice versa with Andre, but more his will and stubbornness to not believe Em could be his mate.


WHAT WAS SO SO:
I really had no issues with the story, however, I did not like the pace of Em and Andre’s romance. I do not expect a straight dive in, but even with attraction there, it took sometime for me. Not a big deal but wish this was duel narration.



SEXUAL CHEMISTRY
I liked their sexual chemistry and sex scenes.



SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
Vi was so cute. Love her and hope she gets a book.



OVERALL:
Was I entertained? Yes. Did I like the story? Yes. Would I read the other books in the series? Yes, I would continue.

Another great book to the series! The author brings strong characters in Em and Andre and weaves an action packed story filled with witches,werewolves and tons of magic. She had me glued to the pages with all the suspense and drama,mystery and anxiety as well as the fated mates romance. It's well written with perfectly painted scenes,moves fluidly and is a fantastic read.

This was such a great read! It's got everything you'd want from this author - mystery, suspense, drama and, of course, steamy romance. It was fast paced, had twists and really was a page turner for me. Can't wait to see what's next for the series.

I don’t even know what to tell you. The beginning was fine, but the ending kind of dissipated to where I tuned out the audiobook and it would be actual effort to remember that there was someone talking in my ear.

If you are going to write an erotica book and have a mediocre plot, then you absolutely cannot have the smut scenes last less than a page, with the blandest descriptions. It’s against the law.

The plot’s culmination was so underwhelming and almost as fast as the smut scenes. Like, we’re supposed to believe this dude is the culprit and the antagonist that can summon SHADOW WOLVES all because all of a sudden he was plopped into that role with no evidence throughout the rest of the book? No. It felt so rushed.

I wanted to like the characters but I honestly couldn’t care less about any of them. They were all so one-dimensional with only one characteristic each.

Kate Rudolph has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Em and Andre. Andre is with his pack when Stasia's sister calls and tells her that she needs help. She thinks she has a werewolf problem. Em is a rock star and is out on tour. She has gone into her dressing room and sees the table used for her makeup has deep gouges in it. It looks like someone has used claws on it. She looks down and sees one of her costumes with tears in it. It looks like it has been clawed also. She is my Sister, I have to go! Stasia tells her pack as they watched her pace around the living room. Owen, her mate starts to tell her something but he can't get the words out. Andre tells them that he will go, he doesn't understand this since he doesn't get along with Em. When Andre gets to where Em is, he has no trouble getting into the building. The security doesn't check anything. Em is in her dressing room with another woman when Andre gets to her. When Andre checks the room, he smells nothing. This is not good. Em is not too happy for him to be there. She has a little while before she has to do a soundcheck so she takes him up to her room so they can talk. Andre tells her what he didn't find and she doesn't understand what he is saying. He tells her that everything has a smell but there wasn't one in her dressing room. When they get to her room, she opens the door and Andre goes in first. As he looks around the room he sees the bed and the sheets have been torn. It looks like someone took a claw to them. Andre notices that it doesn't have a smell to it either. The more time that Em spends with Andre, the more she wants him. Andre is backstage and he sees something moving around and he goes looking for it. Andre and the creature get into a fight and he gets hurt. The creature disappears in a puff of smoke. Em finds Andre and sees that he is hurt so she takes him back to her dressing room to fix him up. Em is waiting just a few minutes alone and she goes into her dressing room and sees Vi in there doing something. She asks what she is doing and Vi blows something in her face. Andre is there trying to wake her up and she doesn't remember anything. When she is out on stage, she messes up a few times. This is the last night for that leg of the tour. Em hopes that the creature doesn't follow her to the next stop on the tour. They are on their way to the next concert and stop for something to eat. Em and Andre take a walk, Em is in front of him and he sees lighting before the creature appears in front of Em. It looks like it is going to attack and Andre knows he is not close enough to save her if it does. The creature doesn't attack Em but goes right through her and attacks Andre. Andre fights the creature off and again it disappears in a puff of smoke. Em gets him on her bus and tells Melinda that the rest of the crew is going to be on the other bus and it will just be her and Andre on hers. She is getting things together to patch Andre up when Vi gets on the bus. She picks up a phone and leaves again. They get to the next stop on the tour and she is on stage when she feels the creature behind her. She can't do anything just yet so she waits. When the time comes, Em takes her chance to get away from the creature. When the lights come back up there are two wolves on stage. She knows one of them is Andre. After this happens, Andre and Em get Vi and they have a talk with her. They find out that she is there to help Em and she is a witch.
Can Em, Andre, and Vi take this creature out?
Will they find out who is behind the control of the creature?
Will Em and Andre get together?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

"Auf der Jagd" ist der zweite Teil der "Bewacht durch die Wandler" Reihe. Jeder Teil kann vollkommen unabhängig voneinander gelesen werden, jede Geschichte ist abgeschlossen. Doch bei dieser Reihe gibt es auch eine Grundgeschichte die sich durch die Bücher zieht, deswegen empfehle ich, sie der Reihenfolge nach zu lesen.



Schon als ich den ersten Teil in den sozialen Medien entdeckt hatte, war ich ganz neugierig was da wohl hinter steckt. Wandler Geschichten lese ich zwischendurch immer mal sehr gerne deswegen stand für mich auch sehr schnell fest, das ich die Bücher lesen muss.



Ich habe mit dem Buch in meiner Mittagspause angefangen zu lesen und war wieder sofort darin angekommen. Obwohl ich einen langen Arbeitstag hatte, habe ich schnell nach Feierabend weiter gelesen und konnte das Buch sogar noch beenden.



Das Setting hat mir wieder sehr gut gefallen. Die Idee mit dem Geister-Wolf fand ich einfach klasse. Andre und auch Em durfte ich ja im ersten Teil schon kurz kennenlernen und habe mich seitdem schon auf ihre Geschichte gefreut und jetzt freue mich jetzt schon auf den nächsten im Bunde. Dankeschön das ich es lesen durfte.



Em, die Schwester von Stasia, wird auf Tournee von einem Geister-Wolf verfolgt und bekommt Hilfe aus dem Rudel. Andre fühlt sich schon länger zu ihr hingezogen. Kann er ihr Widerstehen?? Und kann er die Bedrohung finden und aufhalten??

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was vivid, with the pack dynamics and instincts of the werewolf hero being well described. The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic, with a heat level of three chili peppers. The plot was exciting and action packed. There was low angst and high stakes throughout this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Partner in Trouble trope and the Fated Mates trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization was three stars and the development of the romantic relationship was four stars. I therefore rounded up and gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy both romantic suspense and paranormal romance, since this is a fun combo of both sub-genres. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I will not buy myself a keeper copy of this novel at this time.

This is the first book I have read that was written by Kate Rudolph. I thoroughly enjoyed “On the Prowl” but I wish I had read the first book, even though the this one is considered a standalone. The author did an amazing story that is mixed with mystery, danger, romance, drama, suspense and chemistry. The storyline flows smoothly and the way the author describes the characters she brings them to life. The book is the story of Em, a rock star on tour, and Andre the werewolf and bodyguard/security. When Em called her sister Stasia and tells her that she needs help, that there is a werewolf that broke in her dressing room and scratch with claws her dressing table and also shredded one of her customs. Em and Andre start on not really liking each other, but things do heat up. Does everything work out for them? Highly recommend reading this book to readers that like reading about supernatural communities and paranormal suspense romance.

This was a quick and exciting book and the characters and the storyline was well written and I loved it right from the start up until the very end. ‘‘Em is a rock star and someone is stalking her and she believes it’s a werewolf and sister is so worried that she wanted to go to her but her mate Owen stopped her and then Andre volunteers and when they meet they argue and she wants him to leave but he refuses until he finds out who is stalking her and being a wolf shifter and an ex military he cannot smell any trace of anybody else being around her or in any of her rooms. Then she see what he believes is a ghost that appears right in front of her while on stage and Andre sees it too and races to save her but it disappears. Can Andre save Em from a monster that they cannot see all the time and stop fighting his growing attraction to her as his mate. There’s so much more to this book and this is just a little taste and to find out the rest get this book.

Andre is NOT jealous that his teammate/pack member has found his mate. Sure it would be nice but the only female that roused his interest lately was Em AKA Mercy, Rockstar sister of said new packmate. She's on a round the world tour and after the rocky introduction to the world of shifters he can't just turn up and declare his interest!

Fate, however, may have other plans. Weird things have been happening on tour and when things escalate Em can't help but call her sister. Then the pack gets involved and before he can understand what he's done Andre is on tour with Em as added muscle! Ghost shifters, demonic occurrences, or someone just messing with Em? No matter what it is, Andre will find them and decimate them.

There's more to Em's stalker than there first appears. Looks like the pack is also missing some vital information about magic and witch coven allies too! The Series is going from strength to strength!

Enjoyable Story . . .

Weird things have been happening on tour and things are beginning to escalate. A monster, some sort of Ghost Werewolf, is stalking Em’s rock tour and she has no way to deal with this. Andre arrives as her bodyguard to use his supernatural werewolf skills to find out what is after her and how to stop it. But beyond what is going on with the stalker, why are sparks flying between them? Could she be his fated mate? Can he keep her safe from whatever evil thing is after them? They have already found out that it can hurt him. And when they meet Vi, a witch, they suddenly start getting some answers.

This story is fast-paced and exciting, with likable characters, drama and suspense. The reader will learn all kinds of things about the supernatural community, so it’s very interesting and a fun read.

Andre was a member of a werewolf pack. They were turned by magic when his unit was stationed in Germany, then retired from the service. One of members was mated to Stasia Selby, as she was bitten, turning into werewolf herself. Stasia's sister is Emerald, who is a rock star, She had met Andre when she visited with Stasia, and they were like oil and water...never seeing eye to eye...then weird stuff was happening on her tour for the new album, and Andre volunteered to act as bodyguard...but was this a ghost, as had decimated costume and her makeup table, but left no scent...and there were so many people who had access to Em...but you will need to read this tantalizing tale to see if magic is behind the events or is there some sort of werewolf ghost after Emerald and now Andre....I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review

I enjoyed this second book in the series, and though I had missed out on reading the first one I was still able to enjoy this one about Em and Andre.

Em's on tour when strange things start to happen, she's a rock star, by the way, she seems to resent Andre the wolf shifter hired to protect her, she certainly doesn't make his job any easier! I found myself pulled into the story from the very beginning, the author's writing style and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat as more of what was happing became clear.

I liked the mix of mystery, danger, romance and palpable chemistry contained within this well written, fast-paced story. The characters were well-drawn, I loved the chemistry and heat!

I am not a huge fan of wolf shifter books overall, but Kate Rudolph has given us a world that is complex, interesting, and I have to read more. Andre is a wolf shifter, turned along with his brothers while serving in the military. Em's sister is mated to Owen, book 1, and she is being stalked by some mysterious thing. Andre is assigned to protect her, but it's not an easy assignment. She is a rock star, currently touring the country, and thees two are like oil and water. They set each other off every time they are together. But beneath it all is crazy, intense chemistry. Em is his mate. The book has twists, turns, steam, action, and more. Great read, great series.

Em is on a rock tour when things start to get eerie and calls her sister, Stasia. Stasia and Owen send Andre to be her wolf shifter bodyguard and to figure out what is going after Em. Andre has several run-ins with the ghost wolf and is hurt, while feelings of another sort get stronger with the two being so close now. A surprise is Vi, a witch that helps them make it through to the other side of it all.
The characters are well defined and have great backstories. The storyline is well written with plenty of mystery, twists, surprises and drama. Romance gets steamy and when Em has a situation, he will not lose her at any cost. Loved the ending and epilogue.

Other than this mysterious ghostly presence there is the shocking truth that this is his mate.
Will he be able to protect this woman?
Can he convince her she is his?

A surprising story with mystery and some heat.
The main characters didn't particularly love each other at first sight but with attraction more can grow.
A descriptive and wordy read that left nothing out and succeeded in dragging me into this supernatural world.
Enjoyable and perfect reading for a quiet Saturday afternoon.

Much better than the first book.

Rich, songstress rock star- and sister to Book 1's Stasia- Em/Mercy is threatened by a magical beast, and former military werewolf, Andre is sent to protect her. During the course of this they discover a member of Em's entourage, Vi is a witch and helps to protect her. The suspense is strong and kept me reading, the romance is insta-love, and the HFN ending is okay.

The only con I have is that Vi obviously has information they all need, and there doesn't seem to be any urgency to get her there to question her. That's all going to happen in the next book. If it were me, I'd be crawling out of my skin to find out all I could about my new reality ASAP, but that's just me. I guess I'll keep reading to find out more.

Kate Rudolph is one of my go-to authors for action romance, so this more sedately paced paranormal tale of magic, witches, werewolves, and true love seems to deviate from the expected. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Rudolph does some fine tuning on the fated mate trope and a very creditable foray into the supernatural detective thriller. Em and Andre take the heat to a slow boil. Andre does a neat Columbo-style cerebral sleuth, with a bit of werewolf fang and claw. Em is perfect as the balls-to-the -wall rock star who manages career and love life with clearheaded caution, even as magic and mayhem blow up both love and career. Its a fine change of pace. Go, KR.

A werewolf and a rockstar are fated mates but try telling Em that. Em aka Emerald is one of the biggest rockstars on the planet and Andre is an ex military werewolf. Brought together when her sister had to save one of the pack, Em is now on tour but it’s not all going well. There’s been attacks by a monster and she needs help protecting her from it. Who better than Andre, her fated mate and the wolf that is exasperated by her. He will do all he can to protect Em from whatever is attacking people and he will claim his mate too.

Andre is a werewolf, being enchanted while in the army by a sorcerer. Em, Emerald, is Stasia’s sister, who witnessed Stasia being turned into a werewolf. Em and Andre didn’t get along during their first meeting, but the sparks are there. A shadow wolf is trying to kill Em and Andre volunteers to guard her. Things take interesting turns in this story. The trail to finding whoever is behind the ‘Shadow Wolf’ takes some strange turns keeping the reader wondering what will happen next. A good read.

Em is a rock star whose sister is now a werewolf. Something that Em and her sister had never encountered before. Em is on a tour when she starts getting visits from a werewolf. Andre volunteers to go and check on Em's issue. Andre and his military buddies know nothing about their new lives as werewolves and they are gathering all the information they can. There is danger, stalking, witches and new information in this story. I recommend this read.

When Stasia’s rock star sister contacts her that she’s in trouble of the werewolf type, Andre finds himself volunteering to go check on Em. He’s not sure why, but he can’t stand the idea of anyone else going. Em is surprised to see the sexy, broody Andre; however, his presence soon proves valuable since someone is definitely targeting Em with magic. On top of that Andre’s wolf side instantly declares Em his mate. It’s a fast, fun read and I look forward to hearing more about the guardian pack. Em's view of the world had changed after what happened to her sister, but she was a rock star, and her life wouldnt change. Until something creepy started stalking her - a shadow wof? Or something else? Her sister asks Andre to help Em - little knowing that it would change both of their lives forever. Would Andre be able to sav e Em? At what price? Loved it!

This is a fast pace story will pull you into the story and keep you on the edge as the mystery of what is happing is revealed. My absolute favourite genre is rockstars, bands etc and when you add the paranormal to the mix I love it more and I loved this story about Em who is a rockstar she is being stalked by a creepy monster so Em needs help and it comes in the form of Andre a gorgeous ex military werewolf, can Andre protect Em from a monster well he’s going to do everything that he can to protect his stubborn mate. I loved this story and the characters and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

Second book in the shifter series but can easily be read as a stand-alone. Werewolves are real and Andre is one. How he and the rest of his team became them is unknown. But they are learning and making a life for themselves. Em knows all about them and now may need their help. Something bad is in the air and Andre will have to protect her as they try to solve the problem. Plenty of mystery with some action. The romance builds as is gets a little hot when the the tension finally explodes.

Excellently written to be believable, despite the fanciable and futuristic subject. The storyline keeps your interest while the interactions between characters will pull at your emotions. An excellent example of science fiction romance.

Easily a five star review and recommended for all romance fans who like a story that is not like the others.

Loved the book it was great, the story of a rock star Em and ex-military werewolf shifter Andre. This story was beautifully written when you have Andre and a group of men and women were transformed into the werewolf. Andre was watching over Em he believes she is his mate. There was so going on that it keeps you hooked.
