Regrown: How to Grow Fruit, Herbs and Vegetables from Kitchen Scraps

Rate this book
Let Paul and Robin, aka Two Dirty Boys, take you through the process of reusing items to grow plants from kitchen cuttings otherwise bound for the waste bin.

Vegetables have the extraordinary ability to regenerate themselves without fertilization - even your everyday kitchen scraps. With step-by-step illustrations, this guide shows you how to grow twenty vegetables that are every bit as delicious as their first incarnations.

Ranging from fruits and herbs that will sprout in a matter of days, to vegetables that will delight in later seasons, Regrown is an easy-to-follow guide to growing new plants, with a focus on repurposing produce found in any supermarket. The projects include everything from carrot tops and mushroom stalks to ginger, avocado and even pineapple, with tips on how to use them in the kitchen, too.

Grow new plants from your cooking scraps - all you need is a jar and a tapful of water... then just let nature do its thing.

Lots of things I use everyday that I would never have thought of regrowing. My kids and I will have fun with this book. Easy by step instructions. I am glad I picked this up.

Good fun. I borrowed from library. Lots of fun little experiments/projects that mostly wouldn’t cost anything to do.

A how-to guide to grow plants from food scraps, keeping it drop-dead simple for beginners. The authors divide the book into fast growing plants versus slow-growing, rate difficulty of each, and provide great tips on how you might use the regrown plants. I especially like the simple, minimalist sketchings and beautiful photos - I only wish there were photos of ALL of their lovely efforts.

Je ne pensais pas le lire en entier et en détail mais finalement si! C’est assez détaillé mais pas trop long, écrit dans un style léger avec de belles photos qui donnent envie de faire de même.
