You can find scanlations for download at http://orionwave.blog.com and can also read chapters on sites like MangaFox.
Also look for CMB, which is a kind of sister series by the same mangaka also scanlated by OrionWave.
Before university commitments took me away from the project I used to help out with the scanlation effort with proof-reading and providing notes on the technical details, which leads us neatly to the central conceit here which is hinted at in the title (which is Latin for 'that which was to be shown', which is often used to mark the conclusion of a formal mathematical proof)- this series has maths (and science) to offer!
If you've ever seen it (or advertising for it), this facet might well recall the television series NUMB3RS, but as a manga QED is more in the Detective Conan and Kindaichi Case Files vein, with the mathematical curiosities employed rarely the complicated deus ex machina sort (while NUMB3RS did talk about actual mathematics laudably often, some of the ideas were sketched so broadly that they barely counted as more than name-drops) and instead thorough and even education, while still being interesting (though I might be biased here).
The mysteries are generally quite enthralling and (relatively) frequently aren't focused simply on grisly murders but on more subtle crimes or even unexplained occurrences and mishaps, which I think is a point firmly in favour of QED since other series very rarely step outside the more perilous crime range.
It's difficult to write a detective series without being able to achieve diverse voices in the cast, and I think this is also done well here. Touma and Kana are compelling characters outside of the demands placed on them by the premise. Their different backgrounds, school life and developing complementary relationship as they come to investigate various cases are all more gently paced than Kindaichi and Conan in general, but are familiar from these and like series. Characters like Loki in the supporting cast are also memorable.
Similarly, the people they come into contact with, from madmen to greedy criminals to unwitting accomplices, and myriad others are able to have their stories concisely but poignantly told without becoming mere plot devices. I think this is part of what's had this series running for this long.
The artwork is expressive, but not very detailed and has a stark quality to it, which is a minor enough concern (if one at all- since those used to the style might well find it pleasantly nostalgic) early on.
Applications of mathematics and physics are woven into the narrative well enough to be natural and not at all distracting and some of the explanations are well thought through. (An additional note is that the scanlation group has gone to pains to clarify things as much as possible.)
I've lately been catching up, albeit slowly, to the latest releases and I find QED easily vying with Detective Conan as my weekly detective manga dose. All the best to OrionWave and hope they continue their excellent work on it.

Saya kurang gemar membandingkan komik detektif. Menurutku masing-masing memiliki pesonanya sendiri. Begitupun Quod Erat Demonstradum (Q.E.D.) ini. Ufufufu, tapi untuk komik ini...
Saya sangat menikmatinya!
Biar saja saya tidak mengerti dengan rumus-rumus yang kadang muncul, tapi jujur saja-- tidak sedikit kasus-kasus yang bikin saya benar-benar mengangkat jempol. Penyelesaian kasusnya rada simpel tapi sangat oke menurutku. Apalagi pattern tulisan dan tanda Q.E.D. sebagai checkpoint kalau kasus telah mendapatkan jalan keluarnya membuat saya makin senang. Menurutku ini seperti trademark tersendiri... jika itu bisa disebut demikian (haha).
Pattern tokoh utama dari Q.E.D. ini sendiri memang rada mirip pattern-nya dengan komik detektif lain, yakni cowok jenius (atau mari kita anggap saja demikian) ditambah dengan gadis yang setia menemani nyaris di tiap kasus. Tapi saya sangat suka duo pemeran utama kita di sini! Pemeran utama cowok menggunakan otak, dan pemeran utama cewek menggunakan otot. Hasilnya kadang ada tingkah lucu dan kadang bikin senyum-senyum sendiri melihat perasaan dua tokoh yang tentu saja makin eratsudah, cepat sana jadian!^^. Tapi mungkin saja hanya saya yang melihat ke arah sana *uhuk*.
Salah satu komik detektif yang menggunakan otak dengan memberikan clue-clue secara fair pada pembaca dan fakta kasusnya selesai dalam satu volume itu membuat saya bisa dengan tegas memberikan rating ini. Aaaah, saya masih berharap dua tokoh utamanya benar-benar jadian nantinya!^^

Lagi komik detektif dg tokoh anak SMA. Kasusnya sih unik hanya penyelesaiannya buatku cukup ribet. Sbab si detektif cilik memfokuskan diri pada bukti terakhir.
Tapi bedanya dg conan dua tokoh si kana dan si jagoan lebih kocak dan seru.
Untuk art buat saya ini betterlah. Salah satu daya tariknya menurutku.

Chắc cũng gần 20 năm rồi nhỉ. Không còn nhớ gì nên như đọc lần đầu.
Truyện trinh thám mà nét vẽ mang hơi hướm shoujo, nhìn rất dịu mắt, mà tác giả vẫn vẽ kỹ các chi tiết (đặc trưng cần thiết của thể loại trinh thám), có nhiều góc độ rất lạ và táo bạo.
Ấn tượng về tập đầu rất tốt.

sangat suka dengan dengan 2 karakter utamanya.
cocok saja, begitu.
komik ini memberi pengetahuan baru pada saya, walaupun setelah lewat beberapa waktu, akhirnya lupa juga. tapi beberapa membekas di otak saya.
salah satunya tentang kapal yang berbendera, menentukan kewarganegaraan kapal tersebut dan kasus pembunuhan di gedung teater.
dan dari komik ini juga, dapat referensi untuk tugas akhir saya.

I generally like detective manga, so detective manga + science is a plus.
Knowledge of math/physics/computer/psychology/etc. can help, but not important.
There's a bit of romance sprinkled out as well.
It's also not only about falling bodies everywhere (I see you, Conan and Kindaichi), overall enjoyable read, but I understand if you're not a fan.

So Toma, lulusan dari MIT yang pindah ke Jepang untuk masuk ke SMA biasa. Bertemu dengan Kana Mizuhara yang kuat, ceria dan berani. Kasus pertama yang ditangani Toma adalah kasus meninggalnya ayah teman Mizuhara dengan memegang salah satu kartu bridge.

Tentu lebih bagus timbang Meitantei Conan yang cuma meniru Agatha Christie dan Conan Doyle.
Motohiro Katou punya karakter khas dalam bercerita, dan So Toma benar2 si jenius yang naif.
