Look no further if you're in search of a book with hauntingly beautiful art and fully fleshed-out characters, accompanied by an absorbing plot. Among the plethora of talented artists, Banana-nim undoubtedly stands out, as I have yet to come across a webtoon that boasts such exquisite illustrations.

The plot and characters deserve equal acclaim. They are meticulously crafted, with richly developed backstories that strike a perfect balance. I remain in awe of how flawlessly the characters are depicted, each emotion expertly portrayed. It's remarkable that a webtoon could elicit such palpable tension. In fact, I'm reading it for the second time, having stopped at chapter 62 on my initial read, only to wait for its completion before indulging in a thorough re-reading. The experience of devouring the entire first season in one sitting is something I cherish and wish not to forget.

The love story between Charteris and Rosentine is undoubtedly one of the most selfless and captivating tales I've encountered. Their bond is a shining example of true love in its purest form.

Now, I find myself anticipating the second season with growing impatience, the wait is truly testing my patience. While I believe the story could be succinctly told within two seasons, I am torn because I don't want it to end. The artistry within its pages is simply awe-inspiring.

Trust my recommendation and dive into this webtoon, as you will never regret it, especially when it comes to the artistry on display.

so i only read Chapters 1-77 which covered Season 1, and i have to say, the art style is absolutely stunning!! while i won't dive into a full-fledged review, i did notice that certain sections felt a bit slow-paced. also, the main character, despite being a genius in so many areas, approached everyday situations with a surprising naivety. the romance and banter between Roanne and Chartreuse are my favorite part. their names are weird though and was really bothered by it at first lol

Storyline: Lady Rosentine Arzen was born with the ability to see ghosts (an offense punishable by death under imperial law) and something which threatens to ruin her family. So when Rosentine learns of a plot to poison the imperials, she goes undercover as a vagabond sorcerer in order to save Prince Charteris Kartazen, who promises to protect her family should she solve the mystery.



But who would want to harm the prince? The palace teems with danger, but it’s Rosentine’s own secret that could prove fatal to her.

Les juro que hubo momentos en donde solo quería seguir leyendo y otros en donde ya me estresaba con solo leer unas líneas.

No mentiré con que el arte es hermosisimo, por eso le doy una Estrella más. Pero realmente casi me dio un bloqueo al leerlo, es complejo y yo no me esperaba eso, me gusta? Si, obvio, es muy interesante y divertido pero tenía su complejidad y al no tener tiempo de leer seguido me quedé bastante perdida.

Termine el volumen 1, Rosantyne fue atacada y el segundo principe la ayudo a agarrar a su asesino perp como que ta medio enojado con ella idk, si se puede debo releerlo

Whenever you see art like this, you know it's gonna be good.

"Rosentine. I had brought you into my life out of a momentary desire. Now I am no longer out of your reach, and you are no longer the idol that smiled pensively like a portrait. You smile when you are happy, cry when you are sad and you honestly reveal your anger. Out of fear and anxiety, you collapse under the weight of your emotions at times. Under that skin, there beats a heart as warm as my own. You showed me that yo are the same as me, standing within arm's reach. So how could I resist loving you?"

Whereas the story of Secret Lady doesn't bring anything crazy to the table, the main character, Rosentine, who has transmigrated from a modern, south korean teenager, is something else. Being on her second life gives her an edge, fueled by her wish to be free and live life to the fullest, even if, because she can see ghosts, she is thrown is a millenia old conflict between the goddess Gold, and her descendants.

Her dynamic with Prince Charteris is impeccable in the first volume, and all romantasy fans should try reading this, because it's action packed, it's got intrigue, cool characters, a strong main couple (both together and separately) and all in all, a lovely story.

Can't wait to see what the second volume brings to the table :)

Otra historia a la que llegue por su dibujo y su pareja principal, en especial por uno de los paneles de los capítulos finales donde el prota esta llorando. Los hombres guapos que lloran son mi debilidad jaja.

Esta historia es un isekai en el cual una chica coreana que ha vivido en soledad por su habilidad de ver fantasma muere y reencarna como un personaje de uno de sus libros favoritos. Para su desgracia este personaje tuvo un trágico final debido a que también puede ver fantasmas y esto genera que la crean bruja y la ejecuten. Por lo anterior nuestra prota debe evitar ese terrible destino y el primer paso será evitar que el intento de asesinato del segundo príncipe se lleve a cabo con éxito.

La historia me gustó mucho y en especial la prota es una de las más inteligentes y valientes que he leído aunque no puedo negar que los primeros capítulos donde se esta ganando la confianza del príncipe se me hicieron un poco pesados, pero a medida que la trama avanza y se va descubriendo todo el complot detrás del intento de asesinato más enganchado estas.

El segundo príncipe es un hombre bastante reservado y amo tenga en cuenta a la prota a la hora de solucionar o intentar resolver las nuevas pistas que van encontrando, para él la opinión de la protagonista es de gran importancia y se vuelve una persona de su entera confianza. Además que es bastante solitario por ciertas razones que se nos van revelando poco a poco.

Esta primera temporada tiene bastante misterio, aventura y complots políticos con su buena pisca de romance.

PD: No confió del todo en el príncipe heredero

DNF CH.35😭 I feel so sad to DNF this before the season ends, but I just did not vibe with this. I was looking forward to this story so bad but I did not connect to the characters at all…I was going to force myself to continue reading but I just don’t see the point. The story can be confusing at times and really slow, plus I don’t feel any chemistry between the two leads. I may pick this back up later and give it another chance, but for now I’m moving to other manhwas.

This was freaking amazing!! It wasn’t your typical isekai, reincarnated plot!! Where the girl go back in time and want to take revenge or comes from another world while she have read a novel and she wants to change her sad ending!!
No this one is so amazing!! Rosentine is reincarnated into this world with two things, her past life memories and her ability to see ghosts!! Which is bad in an empire that Forbids magic!! But when her ability make her find that there is an assassination attempt on the second Prince she have No choice but to make a move to help him!! Which leads her to get entangled into a a big plot of assassinations, curses and legends!!!

This manhwa is prefect!!!
You can’t find a mistake in it!!
The story, the world building, the connection between the things that happens!! And the care for small details!!
The ART!!!! It’s So beautiful!!!
The characters were so amazing!!

I am sobbing my heart out. First thing I want to mention is simple; the art is absolutely breathtaking and gets so much better as the story progresses.

I started reading this more than a year ago but ended up dropping it because the plot was confusing. But now, having picked this up again, I realize that yes, I the story is extremely complex and hard to understand. But the story slowly unfolds itself as it goes along, so I’d recommend anyone who dropped it due to confusion to give it another shot.

Secret Lady is not a simple story about a girl being reincarnated into a different world and living happily ever after with her Prince, Duke or whatever. It’s so much deeper than that. Both the plot and the relationship between Rosentine and Charteris (our biggest yearner)

I don’t even know how to describe Charteris’ love for Rosentine because it is goes so deep. I can only say his love for him is extremely poetic. Everything he loves will be eventually be taken away from him, yet he cannot stop thinking about this young, bright girl who suddenly appeared in his life when he needed her the most.

As if subconsciously, he dumbs his feelings for this girl he met to merely a person he idolizes to keep her safe. Charteris was still a child and didn’t understand his own feelings, yet he was subconsciously protecting her. He only knew her name and face after all, right? And they’d only met once, so what if it was a hallucination? He sees Rosentine as an angel; beautiful and has a calming presence, yet not real, or so he thinks.

He’s been unconsciously yearning for her his entire life. And when a mysterious ‘old woman’ appears in his life one day, promising to protect him from his assassination attempts, he immediately knows this woman is the one he’s been waiting for to come to him on her own avail for so long.

As Roan (Rosentine) continues to make sacrifices for him despite herself not even knowing why (Gold :<), he can no longer deny his love for this woman now that she’s shown him that she too, has flaws and that she is not the perfect idol he pictured before.

Both Rosentine and Charteris have gone through so much. Rosentine could see ghosts in her past life too and that led to her being shunned by basically everyone, including her family. The one friend she gets, she loses almost immediately. She didn’t have anyone to confide in, to talk to. She lives alone with scars on both the outside and inside until she’s 20, and is killed by a car. So when she’s given a second chance with a loving family, she’ll do anything for them, the family she didn’t have in her first life.

Charteris wasn’t supposed to receive the golden blessing, since he already had an older brother. He’s young and doesn’t know about it, but he can see his parents both regret having him, since he was basically born to die. Much like Rosentine, he’s left alone, with no one to look out for him or for him to talk to. He believes everything bad that happens and the unhappiness of everyone he’s close to is his fault. He’s also physically and mentally abused by Mengher (idek if that’s how you spell it) throughout his childhood. But Gold decided to switch the blessing from Eswar to Charteris one day, and that makes Charteris’ burden even heavier. Now, he’s responsible for the inevitable death of his only brother, and everything he loves will eventually be taken from him.

I could honestly write so much about these two but I think this is enough. I hope the artist makes a full recovery and takes her time!!

Bonus: I LOVE Eswar so much. He clearly cares so much for his brother and isn’t holding the fact that he’s dying against Charteris even though Charteris has basically taken everything from Eswar. I also love Ranon, unfortunately…

I just have to say that this manhwa is absolutely awesome.

When I read the summary I expected the cliché reincarnation trope but it exceeded my expectations.
It shows a lot of insights to the psyche of the main characters and even some side characters.
Not to forget how overwhelming it is to have supernatural abilities like our female lead.
And even though there wasn’t much romance till now (the story is not finished yet. Or at least the translation)
one just sees the subtle things the second prince does and how much they actually care for each other.
The manhwa also shows the dynamic between the characters and how they deal with the problems on their hands.

Not to mention the art, that is simply gorgeous.

The only regrettable thing is that the story is not finished yet, so I’m waiting in agony always anticipating the next chapter.

I really recommend this manhwa to people who want to read a story with more depth to it and of course to people who enjoy mysteries and similar.

Season 1 done ✅ [4.5 stars]

The art is really really reallllly pretty!!! Not only is it pretty but it is thoughtfully paced. I cannot describe it well, but the way some scenes are drawn slowly, in long panels give the vibe of a slow thoughtful movie scene. And the world building and character arcs are all amazing. I don't have anything bad to say except that I was somewhat lost in the politics arcs which did become easy to understand as I kept on reading, so it's fine.

I love how the side characters all get well fleshed out backstories and the history of the empire is well explained in detail. I found myself deeply invested in the old king & queen's storyline. However, I feel like we don't see a lot of the world due to season 1 primarily taking place in the royal palace. Season 2 is showing promise with exploring other parts of the world and other plots but we'll see.

The artwork has a very evocative and emotional style. It will show you the disguised and regular versions of characters overlapped or a dinner with pigs to convey a tone. It's often pretty or effective but the narrative itself can then be hard to follow as readers must guess sometimes as to which components are real, imagined, or exaggeration. The pacing is slow and the world building (politics, curses, competing beliefs) is somewhat complicated especially with the unreliable narrator and occasional deity possessions. Still the characters are not surface archetypes and it is worthwhile to watch their often traumatic struggle. Season one is a solid arc, but this will not be for everyone.

ugh, one of the best historical manhwas i have ever, EVER read in my entire life, it’s just so chef’s kiss ❤️‍🔥‼️ the art is hauntingly beautiful, the plot is so intricately woven, and i’m just so in love w the characters - even the ending of season 1 was handled so beautifully, and set everything up perfectly for the next season! i feel like if you enjoy really plot heavy manhwas, like your throne and a stepmother’s märchen, you’d definitely enjoy this!

This manhwa? It’s not just a story. ITS CINEMAAAA. Like actual CINEMA. The art is insane, I don’t even know how to describe it without just screaming. Every panel feels like a scene from a film, and the way everything flows? I was weeping at one moment and laughing the next like some kind of emotional ping pong ball.

And the words? They’re so poetic I had to pause and reread lines just to feel them again. It’s all twisting and haunting and beautiful. I was sitting there like, how is this even allowed to be this good? It’s not just a manhwa. It’s an experience.

This is genuinely so good, that I am pleasantly surprised. The art and storyline were so good, and it is a manhwa I'll come back to. In all honestly, it was kind of confusing to follow at first. You really have to read everything and use critical thinking, the author doesn't verbally tell you what's happening. I thought it was done well, and when it made sense as the story progressed. I really enjoyed it!
