The impossible has happened. I became the thing that I’ve hated my entire life. Thanks to Bryce’s gift, I’m now an Idol. But I no longer want to see them all destroyed. Thanks to Bryce, Rufio, Morpheus, and Phoenix, the four powerful Idols I’ve fallen in love with, I realize I can’t blame an entire race for the evil doings of a minority.
Being an Idol doesn’t make my existence easier, though. On the contrary, thanks to the rare gift I’ve developed, I’m now wanted dead or alive. Some want to use me as weapon; others want me gone forever.
We’re living in dangerous times, and the only Idols I can trust are my boyfriends. But we need allies because war is coming and we can’t fight in it alone.
Not bad not bad.. but maybe I just need a break from RH books?
I don't know about you.. but I'm in a weird space with some books. Now it doesn't help that my twinny poo, Felicia, has been feeling to same way. It probably all started with her saying she needed a break because of her funk. Then it hit me all of sudden and I'm like.. but why? I love reading and I sometimes need the smut.. but I don't know.. right now I'm thinking it's a thing and I might need to step back from RH books.
Not for like ever.. but just like a couple of weeks? Who knows maybe one will intrigue me enough where I don't get bored in the first pages.
That being said, I loved this series. Yet, this book just bored me. No idea why because I've fallen in love with these characters and I thought the idea of her being able to strip idols of their powers seemed pretty cool. Unfortunately, this new thing for Daisy just left me bummed.
Ugh, I hate life and I hope when I'm out of this weird ass mood I will dive into this once again and hopefully my opinion will be for the better. Pray for me RH lovers.
This series just gets better and BETTER with each book! I’m hooked and I don’t ever want to leave!
I have fallen head over heals in love with story line and these characters! There’s so many pieces to this puzzle and each one just sucks you in further and further! The angst, the heat all of it just keeps increasing and you can’t help but love it all!
Ugh this book was probably closer to 2 stars, but I can't bring myself to rate this lower than 3 because I really love the series overall. The writing is good and the story is good. Characters are generally done well. Honestly, this book was just a lot slower than the previous 2 books. It dragged a lot. Not much happened - everyone just ran in circles trying to catch their tails while always being 20 steps behind. Everyone seemed to know what was going on except for Daisy and her 4 boyfriends who were all being perpetually manipulated. Frankly, there are too many villains in this series now, and this book gave us no resolutions with any of them. For a good chunk of this book, the MCs were all separated from each other, which always bores me in books. Also there's basically no romance in this book because if Daisy touches the guys, she can suck their power dry.
I really really REALLY hated the ending. I hated it. Rufio's powers better not be gone for good. I'm sure the author is going for some sort of poetic angle, but I hated it. I will not forgive it if his powers aren't returned early in the next book. It literally made me want to DNF the series even though there's only 1 more book for Daisy and her 4 guys.
Also, there are like 15 villains in this book, yet the biggest villain of all is Rosie (Daisy's sister). I fucking can't stand Rosie. She is a petulant brat, hateful, whiney, immature, and her emotions flip way too quickly.
It's kind of funny how this started as an Academy Romance to school no longer mattering as the fate of the world is at stake. People's true colors are showing now and the villains have a face. Phoenix is finally free from the torment of his father and I was not even a little sad to see him go. He has the possibility to form an actual relationship with his mother who he's spent years resenting and hating. She too was being manipulated and without his father around she no longer has to standby and watch her son be abused. Rufio and Bryce's parents are a trip for sure. His mom continues to try and use Daisy for her own means and his father is part of a evil organization that strives to wipe out both Norms & Fringes. Things really exploded at the end of the book. Daisy's powers have manifested and she's able to unmake Idols. I also like that she has some side powers that I'm not sure are fully apparent. She can also bend time but her bff Toby and his burgeoning powers only prove time will tell what they can do. I'm eager to see how it all ends. I'm hoping Daisy can expand her powers or something and take them away from everyone. Bring them all back to regular mortal status. It's clear the ppl with power allowed it to go to their heads anyways, it's time to strip them of it.
The relationships are a little ridiculous (Rufio, I'm looking at you), but overall it's still a fun series. I'll stick with it as long as I enjoy it. The end was unexpected, I'll say, but the reader could feel it building to something.
The impossible has happened. Daisy became the thing that she’s hated her entire life. Thanks to Bryce's gift, Daisy’s now an Idol. But she no longer want to see them all destroyed. Thanks to Bryce, Rufio, Morpheus, and Phoenix, the four powerful Idols she’s fallen in love with, she knows she can't blame an entire race for the evil doings of a minority. Being an Idol doesn't make her existence easier, though. On the contrary, thanks to the rare gift she’s developed—unmaking even the most powerful of Idols—she’s wanted dead or alive.
Finally! Daisy has realized she’s turned into an Idol (not quite turned into, more like gained back but spoilers if I say too much more) and it just adds to her character. And I love how we’re getting even more good, loving interactions between Daisy and each of her fellas. So much better than being bullies. I will admit there is A LOT of information thrown at you in this book. Some seemed a little unnecessary and book filler at times, but I’m willing to admit it’s building up to more in the next book. Prepare yourself for the roller coaster of emotions I’ve been mentioning. You’ll laugh and you might cry (or just I did a bit) but I’m SO set for book four.
I did NOT see that coming! . More adventure, new players added and a declaration of war. Our heroes really have their hands full in this one. . For this book, I really enjoyed how our heroes went through some individual obstacles then came together once again. Like they were always together but it was really interesting to see the individual paths they took to get where they did, and a lot of PNR/RH books don’t have that, they gloss over those individual parts and focus on the whole so I loved seeing that. . I’m liking the steady growth and progression from both the characters and the plot. Everything is spaced out in a way that makes the journey seem effortless. From their relationship, to their individual growth, everything. I’m so engrossed and enthralled by this series that it’s always a surprise when I get to the end and then I’m in denial that it’s finished there. . The excitement keeps growing, the tension keeps mounting and the suspense is killing me. Some dark tones to really give it contrast as well as light moments and who can forget about the steam. This book series is amazing. . The anty has leveled up for our heroes. What does Michelle have is store for us in book 4? No doubt it’s just as exciting and thrilling.
Things start to come together. All the investigations and information start to lead to answers.
There is spice, lots of it. Some smutty moments loud enough to wake the dead 🤭 There are sweet moments and doh moments. Our MMCs are still overbearing, entitled Idols, but are changing and growing. They notice the changes and acknowledge it. But still, they are juvenile in a lot of ways. Think "Made in Chelsea" with God powers. We meet a new character who are intriguing as they have secrets we don't discover. A side story for Ann and Stephen. Our FMC grows in power, but her power makes her growing relationship with the 4 guys difficult. She does slut shame herself a lot. She has difficulty wrapping her head around having 5 guys. It's really not surprising for this world. It's divided in many ways from power, so multiple partners are not the normal this magic filled world. The book ends with a cliffhanger. All I know is I want them to win, and I want them to burn the enemy down as they win. 3.8 stars
This story never has any slow bits. I haven’t been able to stop reading it since picking up the first book! Can’t wait to read the last one and have all my questions (hopefully) answered!
Overall, I really have enjoyed the series, but some things are really starting to work my last nerve. The constant nibbling on her lips, the over reliance on withholding information from each other to further certain plot points, the sheer stupidity of some of the decisions/actions and Rosie. Out of these Rosie’s character irked me the most because her petulance, whining, lack of independence and survivor viewpoint is incongruous with someone who had a rough life since the very traumatic murder of her parents. Not to mention how emotionally manipulative and self absorbed she seems. Ugh, waiting patiently for next book.
After just reading this book I can honestly say wow wow wow. This book is amazing at no point will you be disappointed with this book. Daisy and her men get more intense and loved up whilst being thrown around through so many twists and turns. With everyone wanting a piece of them all. For it to end on a crazy high with outcomes you won't see coming.
I can't help but be disappointed by this installment.
First of all, I don't like it when the MC shows preferential treatment to one or more of the love interests in a Reverse-Harem book. In my opinion, this is what she did here for a big part of the book.
No wonder Phoenix was acting so out of sorts; I would've too.
I love this series so far ... I'm just hoping the author doesn't take a left turn with the storyline in the final book... Damn, I gotta wait a whole 6 mos to read the next installment.. that kinda sucks!
𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐞 (h) has just learned that she has the power to unmake idols and now she’s terrified that she’ll lose control and unmake the 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐮𝐟𝐢𝐨, 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐮𝐬, 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐱, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐜𝐞. Whenever she touches them she seems to suck their power away and she doesn’t know how to avoid that, so she has been pushing them away for their own good. Meanwhile, the Kent brothers have been taken by the Neo Gods and are forced to help them with their agenda. Phoenix is adjusting to the loss of his father and feeling like he has a new sense of freedom now that he’s gone. Finally, Morpheus is unable to keep his feelings for Daisy in control anymore and he’s the one able to help her suppress his powers.

WELL, she can’t do much right now because she can’t touch the majority or she’ll unmake them. She can be with Bryce because their powers counteract with each other and it doesn’t do him any harm. Morpheus is stronger than her because of his demigod bloodline, Phoenix can touch her through his visions, and Rufio payed the consequences 😐… so we’ll see where this romance goes. I know that he doesn’t blame her for being unmade because she HAD to do but I would mad just saying. It all happened so fast too, but I guess now they can be together? IDK
I don’t care much for the romance at this point because whenever they tell say “I love you” it feels so awkward 😭 I can’t explain it… maybe it’s the writing.

NGL it did surprise me that Bryce has the ability to make Idols and Daisy can make them BUT Im so mad that she unmade Rufio ❤️🩹. I really hope he gets his powers back, despite all the shit he did I feel really bad for him. Being an Idol has been a part of his identity for so long and for that to be taken away must be really difficult for him.
The Knights using Daisy for their own benefit and the Neo Gods wanting to k!ll her is a lot. Basically everyone is after her and she can’t protect herself all the time because of the material they use to suppress their powers. It sucks that the Magnificent Four were so powerful in the beginning and now everyone has been able to stop them, so they’re not as powerful as they thought considering they’ve been flopping during each fight. I’m kind of bored now because it’s more plot than romance, and the romance is 😐… I’m just still iffy about how they’re in love with her but there was no real build up from book one.
The only character who truly annoys me right now is Rose, she complains about EVERYTHING. I know she hates Idols and that’s what she was taught but come on, Daisy is her sister and she’s still mad. I also feel like it’s so patronizing when Daisy calls Rose sweetie 😶 I can’t explain it but it’s so weird… she gives off motherly vibes to the boys too sometimes and she said so herself, Im like no thanks…. is it because she’s actually the powerful god and not herself????
At least Toby is an Idol now and not a Norm 😗 but I’m actually hoping that Bryce healing Rufio got him his powers back or there’s a way to fix it because I’m literally so mad.
𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥, I’m just ready for this to be over because now it kind of dragged (I hate to DNF series when I’ve come this far)

Story continues after Daisy and the guys kill a certain monster and Phoenix is struggling with the aftermath. Poor guy is caught between rage and shame since now his friends know what what he endured. Daisy has to deal with a new development with her powers that make her a danger to her guys and all Idols. The Neo gods have ramped up their recruiting and are moving forward with their Idol supremacy plan.
I don't know. Didn't enjoy this one as much as the others. I feel like this book could've been shorter with some more editing. There was a lot of information revealed. Honestly some of it could've been left out. With the fate of Fringes and Norms in the balance, school has taken a backseat. Daisy and the guys are running around trying to keep each other safe. I didn't mind the introduction of the new characters but it felt like they pulled focus away from the main characters. Rosie annoyed me again in this one with her whining but again her irrationality and dramatics was age appropriate. The book ended with war being declared so I'm on to the final book.
Not my favorite of the series. I don't know what it was, but this book didn't click with me the same way the first two did. There was a lot going on here. It seemed like every character kind of had their own individual plot leading up to the end, and considering there's so many characters, it was a bit tedious to keep track of if I'm being honest.
I really thought this book was going to focus on Daisy's new powers and learning to control them, but instead it was just her touching the guys when she knows she shouldn't and getting upset that she was pulling away their powers when she did. Even when they're supposed to be having serious conversations, Daisy's mind keeps wandering off to think of sexy times, and I found it a bit annoying.
The end of this was pretty dramatic (not in a bad way), so I'm still excited to see how everything ends in the next book, but I hope it's much better than this one was
The plot line has really picked up in this one. It’s action packed and a lot of fun. Daisy is finally on equal footing with her guys, she just can’t touch 2 of them. Which I really loved Phoenix’s work around with that. We get to know more about the neo gods and the plans to take them out come into play. Rose isn’t a favorite side character, she actually is getting on my nerves with how judgy she is throughout. Especially with Daisy and becoming an idol, whereas when she finds out about Toby she had no issue, like make it make sense. Andromeda and the new brothers introduced have me highly intrigued!
Wow did this one leaving me waiting for more. Your heart strings get pulled on so much at the end of book 2 and this book. Daisy has gained so much by now but also lost so much fighting to get where she is now. The Four stand by her but they can’t always protect her. I have read the 3 books in less that 24 hours. That’s how hooked this story has me, and I don’t know how I’m going to stand to wait a month for the next book. You seriously won’t be disappointed in this series, especially if you love mystery, fantasy, romance and action packed books.
Well that was interesting. So much happening. So She's now an idol and Bryce can create Idols and she can take their power away. We have a war starting and I can't wait for the big battle. That ending was action packed and left me needing to read more straight away. I'm still not sure that the Knights are better then the Neo-gods but hay they need an army. I'm glad that some of the top people are dying. This world needs a shake up.
As much as it saddens me that I'm one book away from finishing this story, I'm super excited to know what's in store for our heroes.
Hateful Heroes is a wild ride. Lots of twists and turns. Not a fan of the Mary Sue theme going on though but I get it. Girl power. I also did not expect that ending. I kinda knew it might happen but I really wasn't hoping it would but well, now it did.
Imma be inhaling the last book like I did with the first three. 😍
I still love everything about this series and this book is absolutely a must to show the progression of Daisy and the guys. Things just keep getting more and more interesting and you will absolutely be kept on your toes with the secrets and mystery and tons of things in between! This totally sets up the 4th book in the series and I give it 4.5 outta 5 stars!
I love this story and all of the different entanglements between the Neo Gods and the Knights. Dividing families and put into the mix is Daisy's powers. Having the power to unmake Idols is great but I am wondering how she can also have the power to slow time. Shouldn't her unmaking power negate her time power?
Review from The Dragon Den * * * * * Stuff got more intense and adorable. Yay for Pheonix! Yummy on the relationship. Stuff is starting to get real and we are getting somewhere. Michelle really has made another great read for me. Onto book 4!
Disliked how Rosie was kept out of the loop like how did they expect her to react once she found out Daisy was an Idol. Also how easily Bryce gave into making idols and joining the Knights. And Rufio being unmade before the final fight that’s prob gonna happen in the next book? COME ONNNNN *sigh*

Again these books just have so much going on. I like the characters, I like the storylines, but I just feels so overwhelming sometimes and I get lost. I'm curious to see how everything will end up though
