Rate this book
Borderline Dreamtime uses the hippy trail to Kathmandu as a backdrop for a fascinating adventure story. Join Angus MacLeod and his motley crew as they travel east in 1973 onboard their magic bus, Rolling Thunder. Visit Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal and Goa, where the sky is not the limit at the full moon parties. Meet a gamut of bizarre characters like Dirty Ali, an irredeemable opium addict, and Swami Ram, an enigmatic holy man who wanders the banks of the Ganges.Meanwhile, Hamish, Angus's twin brother, sits on a bomb in Cambodia, where he has a vision about what Brahma, the Lord of Creation, is getting up to in the seventh dimension.‘Part ode to being on the road, part spiritual quest in the style of Carlos Castaneda, Borderline Dreamtime is offbeat, wild and a triumph of the imagination.’ Salvador Harguindey, M.D., Ph.D.

I think this is my favourite of the series. Brilliant descriptions of the overland to India trip in the early seventies. Just when you think it cannot get any more mind-blowing, it does. Very well written with an adorable Scot as the hero, if you can call him that because he is more of an anti-hero. Sometimes the story is so well delivered you think this is not fiction you are reading but rather a true-life account. That for me is a sign of a truly gifted writer. Wonderful!

I loved the prequel, Mind Bomb, and I loved Borderline Dreamtime even more. Very heartfelt writing and a fantastic story.
