10 ചെറുകഥകളാണ് ഇതിലുള്ളത്. കഥകളെക്കാൾ കൂടുതൽ ആകർഷിക്കുന്നത് ഓരോ കഥയുടെ അവസാനവും കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ചെറു കുറുപ്പാണ്. ആ കഥ വന്ന വഴിയാണ് അതിൽ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നത്. (എലി)സാ വിക്ടോറിയ എന്ന പൂച്ചയെ പറ്റി പറയുന്ന കഥയാണ് തുടക്കത്തിൽ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. അതാണ് എന്നെ കൂടുതൽ ആകർഷിച്ചതും. ലസോന്ത സോ സിം ബറനീസ്, ആ മൂന്ന് ഇല്ലാത്തരശികൾ എന്ന കഥകൾ മനസ്സിലാക്കിയെടുക്കാൻ വളരെ പ്രയാസപ്പെട്ടു. നന്മയുടെ ഉദാഹരണങ്ങൾ കാട്ടിത്തരുന്ന ലച്ചിയക്ക, പെർഗുമ്തോ മലയിലെ പെൺപൂക്കും മരം എന്ന കഥകൾ. ഫാസിസത്തിന് മേമ്പൊടിയുള്ള സ്വപ്ന സുന്ദരൻ, സമൂഹത്തിന് ദുഷ് ചെയ്തികൾക്കെതിരെ വിരൽ ചൂണ്ടുന്ന ജരിത എന്നീ കഥകൾക്കൊപ്പം കോൺക്രീറ്റ് കാട്ടിലെ പുഴു, മിസ്സിസ് എക്സ്, അ അ ഒരു വാർത്തയാകുന്നു എന്നീ കഥകളും ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.
