Silk’s turbulent life has been turned upside down yet again! What’s a young super hero to do? Probably not commit more robberies while undercover with the Black Cat’s crew! Because when Silk’s luck runs out and Felicia learns the truth about her seeming ally, that idea will definitely end in tears! Then, Cindy finds herself haunted by Spectro! Who is this spooky figure, and will he be a friendly ghost? Silk heads into the Negative Zone — then gets drawn into a Clone Conspiracy! And with a variety of folks mysteriously dead no more, she’s about to face a Spider-Woman who’s come back from the grave! If Cindy can survive all of that, then Mockingbird may have an interesting proposition for her. Is the world ready for…Silk, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.?!
Cindy Moon has always held a special place in my heart as an Asian Spider-Woman and I may be reviewing this from a biased place but I think this is a really good ending to Silk's first solo comic run. It wrapped up her original story intentions up in a nice way without wrapping up her character completely. The only thing that I wasn't a big fan of was the art style of these comics. My favourite artist for Silk will always be Stacey Lee but of course, things happen and people come and go but this art style did disconnect me from Cindy's story.
I really liked the ending, and it may have solidified Silk as being my favorite Spider-Woman. Always good to see JJJ be a real human being. Art was still great but sadly Stacey Lee only drew one issue.
Love Cindy, but this gets bogged down by a crossover. It doesn't feel like she has much time to shine. She finds her parents finally and then is drawn into a crossover. Or a world destroying event... or something. It is always something.
