Family is where life begins, trust is forged, and love never ends. Korba, Chelan, and Dar are forever entwined through the lives of their children, and their children are everything to them. So when RIBUS 7 reaches her destination, a planetary system Fremma has been called in to deal with, everyone is shocked by what they discover. However, the disastrous situation becomes even more bizarre when they unearth the cause of the chaos. Nothing prepares them for the connection of the calamity to one of their own.
Rayth, an alien being unlike any ever encountered before, has arrived, and he has plans that will ruin both the Empire, and everything Korba, Chelan, and Dar hold dear to their hearts. What Rayth wants, Rayth will obtain at the expense of everything and everyone in his path.
Technologically outdone by this alien race, Korba has serious decisions to make in order to save his Empire, but those decisions could decimate his family. And just what sacrifices he is willing to make to preserve his family, could cost him the Empire.
There is a morality to war that weighs heavily on all. Do the needs of the few ever outweigh the needs of the many? Will appeasing invaders be worth the sacrifice Korba must make? And what is Korba prepared to live with after all is said and done?
Korba, Dar and Fremma are still Bad*ss. Chelan continues to be one of the most annoying, worthless heroines in sci-fi romance. She's tough one minute then artfully swoons into the arms of whatever random male happens to be in grabbing distance. Wash, rinse, repeat. If you ever forget Chelan's wondrous womanly beauty there's plenty of flowery prose to remind you. The hardened warriors of the Empire still pander to her whims and mood swings with an unseemly amount of apologizing for the past. I did quite a bit of skimming through anything involving Chelan to get back to the problems the Empire was facing. The main plot involving Rayth wasn't firmly concluded, more like a HFN. The book is almost 800 pages long and would have benefitted from a more rigorous edit.
Shae Mills isn't a bad writer and has created a very interesting world. If another book in the series comes out I'll buy and read it. I'll simply continue to skim through all things Chelan.
This is 1 of the best series of books I have had the privilege of reading. There are 7 books all together, And they are a must read. I have read this series no less than 10 times and when my sister and I heard she was coming out with a new book we were ecstatic. If you like Science fiction romance novels you will love this series. I can't say enough good things about this whole series of books I will re read them again many times, And you can't say that about a lot of books.
I was very excited when I saw there was a new book in this series (which I really love) and I was not disappointed! I had trouble putting it down and enjoyed seeing more of my favourite characters and the inter-relationships.
It was also a great opportunity to re-read the series from the start. Although the ending was good, it didn't wrap up the main storyline of this book. I'm hoping more will come, if not with the main characters, perhaps of the 'next generation' or other favourite sub-characters.
If you enjoy science fiction romances, I highly recommend this series (which is best read in order).
Rayth is similar to a Tom Clancy novel with all the various subplot going on! If you haven't read the series lately I recommend starting with book 1 and rereading the series. This book and series should be read . You will put Shad Mills on your keeper shelf. The only problem is Now she needs to start a new sub series with all the new Characters, Especially Emma!
This was her COVID baby and it should be classified as COVID greatness!!! I loved everything about this book and the entire Ribus 7 series!!! Korba...Yes!!! Chelan... Yes!!!! Dar... Yes!!!! Fremma... Yes!!! I don’t believe there is a character I dislike. Other than the current enemy and in this book I don’t completely dislike him!!! Thank you Shae mills for this!!!
I so fell in love with this installment in this wonderful series! It was great! Our favorite people are back and facing new challenges to the Empire and also personally. The detail to the world building is phenomenal! This one is so rich with drama and some seriously hot and sexy scenes too! Great read!
This is epic and I felt as if I were there. Recommended reading for this very captivating book. Happy to know Freeman is back in Chelen's life. Korba nd Dar needed him too. They now have balance.
I loved every book in this series. The only thing I didn't like was the book ended and I could have just kept reading. It was such wonderful ending. I hope this series continues even after the children are grown. Love loved it.
I can hardly wait for the next book and hated for this one to end. Sex was in the story but not the story and I liked that. The writer will have all your sense engaged including tears.
Have been hooked on this series since Ribus 7 came out and I'm so excited for a new installment! And yay! Just excited to throw that out there with no spoilers.
Probably the best of the series, I think.. I’m not sure since I love them all. I’m definitely hooked on this series. It’s one those bookshelf must keep you want to re-read over and over again and still leaves you wanting for more which is something I couldn’t say about a whole lot of other books. A Sci-fi classic and it’s got it all. Amazing in all its world building, plot, characters, the sex is steaming hot without being trashy. I can’t recommend it enough.
This as literally the EPIC conclusion. I about died several times in this book! It's a must read for anyone who's started the series. You definitely have to read these in order. I don't want to give anything away, but I see where Mills could write about the second generation. I VOTE for that! Or hey, I'd take a story on Yanis, or Stose, or any number of other warriors. This series is so EXCELLENT! 5 stars!
