A bloody good book. Never knew quite where it was going to go or how it was going to do it but it kept me enraptured throughout. Loved it.

I've just finished this book and have been left feeling that I've either read an important novel or a novel from someone who is going to make a big impact.
The story is of an antisocial misfit living in a small town hating everything about it. While I was reading the spirit of Catcher in the Rye was invoked and shortly after that I read another review of the book saying exactly the same thing.
Just as I thought I knew what was going on and where the book was going it took another turn which I could not have predicted.
I felt a lot of compassion for the hero of the story although I'm not sure I should have. The small world in which he is trapped felt very real and the characters that populated it didn't really deserve his hatred (for the most part).
I might need a few weeks to digest what I've read. It gets more than a little surreal.

An unusual story, well written och with a likeable main character you're pretty sure you shouldn't like.
