USA Today Bestselling Author Kessily Lewel, and her darker side Sadie Marks, are two halves of the same author. All of her work falls under the category of power-exchange romance. Kessily’s books tend more towards sexy romance with a side of domestic discipline, while Sadie has been sticking to sci-fi, with her race of Dominant aliens who are looking for a few good humans to call their own.

She has been in love with fantasy, sci-fi and horror since she was a child. She grew up reading Stephen King, Asimov, Robert Heinlein, and others, so it was only natural that one day she’d write her own worlds—though hers do seem to have a lot more sex and BDSM in them.

Quick Summary
Famous actor, Mitch James meets Olivia on the set of his latest movie. He finds himself irrevocably drawn to her, sensing on a deeper level, that she has a Little side that calls to his inner Daddy Dom. But Olivia’s been burned in the past and she finds it hard to let down her guard long enough to let Mitch close.

With his high-profile career putting him in the spot light and Olivia’s furiously guarded private life, these two are from completely different walks of life. Their love story is a journey of self-discovery, exploration, acceptance and taking a chance on love.

🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤
Mitch and Olivia are a realistic portrayal of a new D/s and Daddy/little relationship between an older, more experienced Daddy and a novice sub/little. Olivia is new to the lifestyle, like many, she’s only read and fantasized about being dominated but in real life, this takes a lot of trust, something she’s not sure she can actually risk doing.

A lot of people loved the idea of being taken care of but when it came down to actually letting someone else hold the reins it wasn’t always easy.

When she first meets Mitch, she’s committed to keeping her distance. She’s been burned by an actor before and she isn’t going to risk her heart again on someone who she sees, is clearly out of her league. But she underestimates Mitch’s interest. He might be famous but he’s really a down to earth guy who slowly but surely breaks down her walls.

Mitch is a great Daddy/Dom, he’s open, up front and honest. I loved how he introduces and guides Olivia through every step, how he was committed to gaining her trust and her submission and never shied away from listening to Olivia’s feelings, thoughts and concerns.

“I can be a soft Daddy when you need to be loved and coddles, and I can be a harsh Dominant when you deserve one, but you have to learn what your own needs are before I can work with them.”

Olivia might have waffled a bit, going into this, but it was understandable and relatable because she had normal thoughts and feelings about taking her fantasies into the real world. Luckily, she has Mitch! Honestly the open communication between these two was the highlight of the story. I loved that this wasn’t instant and perfect, it had it’s ups and downs like any other relationship and they handled it like any other couple might.

The plot twist at the end, I honestly didn’t see coming.

Overall this was a great read, my only gripe is the repetitive scenes that alternated between Mitch and Olivia’s POVs. I l loved getting inside Mitch and Olivia’s head throughout the story, what I didn’t like was the overlap of their POVs. This is a pretty hefty book on its own with a lot of page time dedicated to inner dialogue/reflection rather than one on one with the MCs, so having to re-read the same scene twice – once from Mitch’s POV and then again through Olivia’s – made the pacing slow down a lot. I found myself skimming through it at times, tbh.

Heat Level: 3/5

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is my first book by this author and what drew me to this book was the DD/lg power dynamic. I was curious to see how it would play out against the real world unbalanced status between the hero (Mitch) with his celebrity status and Olivia who worked for the food crafts company working on the set off Mitch's current film.

I liked how Mitch was experienced enough to look past the glitz of his profession to understand that not only did he want someone whose kinks meshed with his, but someone who he could actually build a life with. I liked how the relationship building took precedence over the physical portion; that there was an exploration of whether there was more than just chemistry.

The aspects of the book that lost points with me was the detailed memory Mitch recounts of one of his prior DD/lg relationships. There were pages devoted to his memory of this prior relationship, including an intimate scene to which he got himself off to. This is before his relationship with Olivia really begins, but considering the length of the book, I really would have preferred those pages be spent on Mitch and Olivia. I personally do not like detailed scenes of the Hero with another woman, even if it is in the past, and I am not sure what the purpose of the scene was.

The other thing that took me by surprise was what Olivia shared with Mitch towards the end of the book...right before it ended with a message saying that there would be a sequel. Overall I enjoyed the plot and writing, and am invested and interested enough to read the next installment. Overall, my score would be 3.5 stars.

Wonderful Daddy/little BDSM story

I really loved this book it has a Daddy who is an actor in his mid forties and a Little who is in her thirties and she works food service on the set where he is working. While Daddy is fairly experienced his soon to be Little is inexperienced. The story is dual POV and in 3rd person. There are several excellent 🔥 scenes that I thought were really good. There is a HFN on this story as it continues. If you like Daddy stories I am certain that you will like this book. Also there is a sequel that I am going to read next.

The couple: Mitch and Olivia

Romance genre: DD/lg
Part of a series: Yes (Action Daddy)
Length: 206 pages

Plot: Mitch is a highly successful actor who is looking for a woman who is into the same things as him when he meets Olivia, who works in craft services on the set of his latest film. He is drawn to her, and even better, he can see the hint of a Little Girl in her. He tries to get to know her, but she is strangely resistant. Finally he convinces her to go out with him and they slowly get to know each other. But when they are finally intimate, a series of events (nothing earthshattering) keep him from contacting her the next day or the day after, and she is certain he has dumped her now that he's gotten what he wanted. But when they finally get a chance to talk, Mitch tells her the truth - that he's not nearly done with her. And she finally tells him the truth - she has a daughter.

Character development: Mitch was fascinating in the sense that most H's see the girl, want the girl, and take the girl. He saw that girl, wanted the girl, and then took his time. He built anticipation and even when Olivia said she would give them a try, he still held back, building up more anticipation. He did that whenever they were together. I think it was a factor in making Olivia believe that he was serious. She was ready to go when he finally gave in. Hell, I was ready to go by that point!

Would I read more from this author/in this series: Yes - I would like the end of the story (it ended suddenly!)

Cliff hanger

Should have been warned. The story is very complex with many bumpy spots to come. Am finished with the duet.

Mitch has been a movie star for a long time and is famous for his cowboy roles. He still does his own stunts but at his age he is having to take it a little easier. Mitch is also a Daddy Dom but hasn't had much luck finding his own Little. Between the attention from the press and the demands of his filming schedule, he has no time to search out a real Little girl. On this last film, things are looking up. Olivia, the woman that is in charge of feeding the staff and workers has caught Mitch's eye. He is very attracted to her kindness and her smile and sees hints that she might have a Little inside. Now Mitch has to find the opportunity to ask her out so he can get to know her.

Olivia loves her job working on the set and she is especially thrilled to be seeing her favorite actor Mitch. She is surprised how kind and friendly he is but she is striving to be professional. When he rescues her after her car breaks down, he asks her out on a date. Olivia had made the mistake of dating a star before and was ghosted when the movie was done. Olivia is determined to protect her heart and turns him down. Later after thinking about it she decides that she was wrong in judging Mitch by her ex's action. She has decided to give him a chance. Now she just has to woryy about the press.

Mitch is a leading man movie star who is a bit of a closet Daddy. Being a very public figure makes him very susceptible to adverse rumours and innuendo. Olivia is a member of the catering staff working on Mitch’s current movie production. She is most definitely a closet little, one who has been hurt very deeply in the past by another movie actor. Two of the most unlikely people to get into a relationship, but against all odds they do. The story of how each of them overcomes their initial reluctance is beautifully told in alternate first person narratives. While Mitch is very open to Olivia from the beginning Olivia is holding back a very big secret from Mitch, one she fears could be a deal breaker. This lovingly told Daddy/little story has it all. Really well developed characters with real life issues, sweet caring romance, sensuous and stern spankings and appropriate adult sex. My only disappointment was the “happy for now” ending. There could have, and should have, been so much more! Perhaps the next book will continue their story and bring us the 5 Star HEA read, but for now we are at 4 Stars.

I give all the books I dnf 2 stars. While I was really enjoying this book, the plot twist of her having a child really threw me off and turned me off with this book. It's such a shame too because I love single-parent romances and everything else was amazing. The tension between Mitch and Olivia was amazing. They did daddy dom and little girl dynamic well and built up to the sex scene. The only thing that I didn't care about was him fantasizing about his old girlfriend/little.

The kicker for me was the way they dropped the bomb on the reader she has a kid. It reads as a plot twist and a hurdle they must overcome. There's no foreshadowing she has a kid, just her and her mom. During the scene where they were being vulnerable with each other about it not being a fling/one-night stand, she should told him. In the scene where he told her they were going to have a night together, she got ready, packed, and got to his hotel before he got there. The scene at her house or even in her car should give us something with her child.

I loved everything about this book! the main characters, the writing and the story. Mitch is an A list movie star who is fed up with one night stands. He is ready to to settle down and find his forever Little girl. Olivia works on the set of his recent film. After being hurt in the past, trust doesn't come easy to her. But Mitch is one determined Daddy Dom and he will do whatever needed to win the trust and love of his baby girl, even when she tries to push him away.
It was such fun reading their story! One of the things I like about Kessily Lewel's writing, is the alternating view points of telling the story. It makes it easier to connect to the main characters and understand their motivation. The only complaint I have for this book is that it ended too soon. I almost threw a tantrum when I reached "The End". It's a good thing Ms. Lewel said there is going to be a sequel later on this year! I have no choice but to wait patiently for the story to continue.

I love how Kessily writes that Mitch is nervous about talking to Olivia. He doesn’t know how to act around her or approach her. She notes how he feels like he is a teenager with a crush. He finally gets his chance when Olivia’s car breaks down. He has a feeling that she is itching to let her little girl side out.

Olivia doesn’t think her feelings of being a little girl and wanting kink are ever going to come true. When Mitch talks to her about what he wants and what he thinks she wants, Olivia freaks out. After she calms down and listens to Mitch, she decides to give it a chance.

Kessily spends time building the trust and relationship between Mitch and Olivia. Mitch used the time for Olivia to explore her little side.

I will admit I was a little leary about reading about Olivia having a little side. I am still learning all of the lifestyle dynamics. I really enjoyed this book.

This was a cute, fun story. Olivia is a little but is new to this lifestyle. She's fantasized and read book about it but never been in a relationship. Mitch is an actor and since she's been hurt by an actor before she is committed to keeping her distance. Mitch finds that he's really intrigued and attracted to Olivia and knows that he's going to have to really work to win Olivia over. He's a fantastic Daddy Dom and is taking things slow with Olivia. I love how caring and slowly they built their relationship. I hope there are more DDLG stories from this autor. I will be looking for the sequel. First book I've read from this author. I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the first book in the Action Daddy series. It is the love story between Mitch and Olivia. She is on his film set working the food service. He is instantly attracted to her and he believes she would be the perfect Little Girl. He is older than her and she has had a bad experience from before. She is does not see why he would like her and she is leary of letting her Little side out. They end up with a happy future together. She had to trust him to get there though.

Olivia and Mitch

I liked this book alot.I didn't give it a 5 star rating only because it was book #1 in a continuing series. There are 5 books in all,and the HEA doesn't happen until then.Book #5 does not even come out until sometime next year.I like a finished story, not one that takes 5 books ( about the same couple) to finish.Besides that, the main characters, especially Mitch, were likeable, interesting and the conflict with Olivia's trust issues was believable. That conflict continues, and hopefully gets resolved, in the next book. So,there is a HFN instead of the HEA I prefer.I'm sure book #5 has the HEA.I have all 4 books available in this series.I will start #2 now. 😀

Lights, Camera, Daddy! is a playful and heartfelt romance with a unique twist. Mitch James, a Hollywood star, is accustomed to playing larger-than-life roles, but when he meets Olivia, he sets his sights on a new, real-life role—her Daddy. Olivia, guarded and independent, isn’t easily swayed, and Mitch must navigate her emotional walls while proving his sincerity. Lewel blends romantic tension with elements of BDSM and trust-building, creating a compelling, character-driven narrative. It’s a fun, steamy romance that explores vulnerability, trust, and the complexities of unconventional relationships. An engaging and heartwarming read.

Even though I did enjoy this story and the characters a lot, it was written in 3rd person. While I don't love reading that POV, I normally don't have a problem with it, in this case I did. It got pretty repetitive for my tastes. Rereading the same thing over and over again becomes tedious and really stunts the flow of the story. Although, it didn't take much for the story to pick up and get back into the swing of things. I am still looking forward to reading the sequel.

A famous actor who keeps his Daddy Dom locked away until he finds the right one. He doesn't think it'll ever happen until he notices the beauty at the food service table. Takes a while but he finally gets her to pay attention to him. He wants to go slowly until he figures out if she's the Little he thinks she is. She's got a secret though hopefully soon she'll trust her daddy enough tell him and he can take care of everything for her. Yummy DDLG romance.

Olivia Anne Harper, worked as a craftie which meant she set everything up for when the actors and crew arrived to start filming for the day there was food and drinks for them. Mitch James was the lead actor. As soon as he saw Olivia it brought all his Daddy Dom/little girl dynamics out. Olivia was a little but had never done anything about it until Mitch made her feel special I’m not going to spoil this story only to say Mitch helped Olivia find herself.

This is a romance between a man that knows he is a Daddy Dom and a woman that isn't sure what her preferences are. It is a well written story that will draw you into the characters lives. It is a great story of two people drawn to each other. They are both hesitant to get involved for different reasons. It is a story that I think everyone can relate to. I will be looking for more books by this author.

First time reading this author.

This is the first book by this author I have read. I’m looking forward to the next book. I really liked how the story developed. It was a look at how relationships should be built, slowly, getting to know one another. Include the fact that there is a Dd/lg D/s aspect to this relationship, it’s of the utmost importance to get to know each other. I’m wondering what Mitch’s baggage is. I have a hint it involves his sibs, but we will see.

Oh my gosh! Loved it!

This story had me going from the beginning! It was relatable as having lived in that area of Cali. The author was able to have a great dynamic between Mitch and Olivia. It brings to mind the way they have to sneak around due to Mitch being a famous actor. I loved Olivia. I can’t wait to read the second book!

Olivia and Mitch

This is a good, well written DD/lg romance. The characters are well developed and believable. There are secrets that Olivia holds back due to her past. There is a lot of slow heat. There are answers not completed but a follow up is noted for the next book. Read and enjoy.

Got this book with SYKD.
Awfully written, boring and with too much repeating. It's ok to remark something if it's important for the story, but the author seems to love repeat the same concept over and over again. If that wasn't enough, some POV are repeated on both side.
Doesn't even end with this book.
A big nope for me.

This was a wonderful steamy, quick, daddy read. These books have just the right amount of daddy love for me. Some books take it too far but this author keeps it at possessive and protective, and loving!!

Not what I expected

This is a Daddy story but he also has a sadistic side that I wasn't ready for. Almost made me stop in midstream but I read on and found a good continuation to a relatively happy ending though I feel it ended too soon with too much unanswered.

Ok I didn’t realize this was a duet so the ending caught me off guard considering it says the end as oppose to to be continued. Either way I won’t be reading the next book.
The book was ok. I liked the beginning but towards the end I lost interest.
