As the creator of her own true crime podcast, Poppy is on the case. Only this time, of a serial killer operating just under the radar in Navesink Bank. And nothing will get in her way. Except, maybe, a good-looking guy with tortured eyes, anxiety, and a cleaning compulsion.
She never could have guessed, though, that he was the very man she’d been tracking down for months…

Quinton Baird & Associates – Poppy & Finn’s story

Full Disclosure: I flippin' love this book …..

Poppy has always been a true crime junkie, so when she quit her job, to become a fulltime crime podcaster. She never thought that. She’d find herself in the situation where she is in her own crime story

Honestly anyone who has enjoyed this series as much as I have, couldn’t say that – they haven’t been waiting on pins and needles for Finn’s story since the beginning when we met his kind heart… than they aren’t a true fan of this series… I know that I’ve been obsessed with Finn for sometime

Don't you just love how when Opposites attract

Finn has been dealing with his OCD for as long as he can remember... I just love how easily poppy accepted it like nothing

And Lord have mercy I thought that Fin would go completely mad, when he went in to Poppy's house and found that she is somewhat messy person

I just love, Poppy’s personality and how she just shined and how she was able to get Finn to open up

My only issue with this book, is I felt like we lost few chapters to Poppy's True Crim Podcast

I must say I can’t believe that I’m finally here …. Yay I slowly made my way through Professionals Series and was able to read this book within 1st 90 days of release….. If you know anything about me, You know that I’ve been struggling to catch up to the current book …. Now I’m patiently waiting for new release in this amazing series

⬇Always remember⬇

📚 💖 keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.

Hands down, 10 swooned stars!!!

The mysterious Finn.

The Cleaner.
The quiet loner.
The good looker with tortured eyes.
The Enigma.

My new boo, ladies and gents!!!

Not gonna lie, my expectations for this one were pretty damn high, and boy-oh-boy, did JG deliver. Finn was everything I hoped he would be.

We have glimpses of him right from the very first book. And he intrigued me, made me crave more and more for him with each story. And for a good reason.

Because Finn despite the darkness surrounding him and the truly ugly job he does for Quin, has a soft side in him. His military service was the reason for his severe PTSD and the cleaning somehow makes his anxiety go away.

But Finn is lonely. He doesn't believe any woman would want to form any form of attachment with a freak like himself. And so he stays away from people, away from relationships, from women.

*and I was like:

Until her.

Poppy.

The true crime podcaster.
The mystery fiend.
The girl with red hair, tattoos, and deep emerald green eyes.
The girl who's onto him.

Thanks to Nia, The Hacker, Quin and Finn quickly learn that Poppy believes there's a serial killer in town. The guy who not only kills but also cleans the crime scenes and leaves a very specific smell after he's done.

She, mistakenly, believes that the killer and the cleaner are not only the same person but also responsible for all the major crimes in the city. And so Finn decides to do a little digging on his own, learn more about her and what she does.

Her obsessions, her quirks, her strengths.
And that's how Finn's fascination with her begins. The fascination that, against his better judgement and his nature, pulls him closer and closer to her.
Because the more time he spends with her, the more at ease he becomes. Because being close to Poppy takes that pain away and can hush the demons inside his head.
Because she makes him happy.

And boy-oh-boy, that was soooo freaking good, I couldn't unglue myself from the kindle until I hit the end.

I gotta say that I really liked Poppy's character. She was different and absolutely perfect for Finn.
I liked that she admitted to her mistakes and stepped down from the YT world.
And, truly, I absolutely loved everything here. The writing is delicious, the pacing is fantastic, the angst is here and the chemistry is off the charts.

Hands down, this series is one of the best I've ever read.
And Jessica Gadziala is my absolute go-to author.
Has been since book 1.

All in all, I fucking loved this book.
LOVED it!
I'll definitely reread it very soon.

I still have book 7 & 8 to read in this series and tbh I can't wait for Bellamy's story. He seems even more fucked up than Finn. I truly hope Bell and Nia will get together but we'll see.

Oh, and we have two new additions to the crew: Ethan Roseland 'Rosie' aka The Lawyer and Amita, the social media specialist. And Rosie seems like my kinda jerk lol.

I highly recommend this series to everyone.
Can't wait for book 10!

Oh, one more thing, does anyone know who the guy on the cover is?
Because I'd like to drool some more... XD

💢💢💢💢💢💢💢💢💢💢💢💢💢💢💢💢

Reread: 29/07/2024

I still so loooooove this book.

And Finn?

OMFG!!!

He forever will be my baby. ❤️❤️❤️

***** 4.5 Stars!!!!*****

This is the 9th book in The Professional’s series, and it was definitely my favourite one! Between the feisty and quirky heroine; Poppy, and the obsessive hero known as The Cleaner, I just couldn’t get enough!!!
Not only was this a sexy romance, it had a great crime/mystery story thrown in! It ticked all my boxes and reminded me of why I fell in love with reading all over again!

I highly recommend this one, but I do feel you should read the whole series before this one. It can be read as a stand alone, but to understand the overall history of our hero and his compulsive cleaning habit, you need to read from the beginning. Also, his friends and co-workers all have their own stories as well and they are in the book as well!!

AMAZING lol. The cleaner has ocd from ptsd and literally cleans up the crime scenes for the fixer firm so that no one gets caught by trace evidence. I have been waiting for his book from the very beginning. I loved Finn so much, he was such a cinnamon roll. Poppy is a true crime podcaster, and WOW I loved their relationship. She has noticed how clean/the scent of the cleaner of some scenes, and she thinks there’s a serial killer to be caught. I kind of thought the fact that he wasn’t going around killing people made their romance believable. I loved her dog yoghurt who has anxiety. And of course I can’t wait for the next book. My votes go for The Hacker or The Executioner next. 😍

WOW! This book is unbelievable gripping, suspenseful and definitely a page-turner.
I enjoyed this book so much that I read it in one sitting. I'm a slow reader! But I couldn't put it down! 🤩

I'm a true crime fan and I can really relate to the topic of this book.
Of course, I'm only talking about the fascination with true crime shows and not the whole somehow creepy and at the same time enthralling story.

I've been waiting for Finn's story for a long time and I couldn’t imagine how his "job" and his compulsion to clean will clash with a real relationship.

I had a picture in my head of what he looks like and possibly what his "clean" life looks like, but I couldn't imagine which woman he would choose, or better now which woman would suit him or choose him.

Finn is the one man between the fixers, that I adored and always had a weak spot for. He's the epitome of tormented soul. His complex PTSD with anxiety attacks doesn't let him have a chance for a normal life.
Until a very curious true crime podcaster has taken interest in him.

Poppy is perfect, more than perfect for him.
She is not only smart and sarcastic, but she's sensitive and has an amazing understanding towards his PTSD symptoms. And don't forget to add hot and badass to her qualities.
She's a true crime podcaster or like she calls herself peddler.

This book is amazing. It's a mix of thriller and romance with a lot of humor and the unique criminal atmosphere of Navesink Bank.

I love the characters and the unique topic and of course the amazing writing style ❤❤❤
Definitely a must-read! 😍❤

Jessica Gadziala’s THE CLEANER showcases that bad boys can be good and one can’t judge a book by its cover or by their profession, no matter how sketchy it may be. One tenacious young woman will find exactly what she needs when a man who has turned his PTSD/OCD tendencies into a job few can do becomes her knight in tarnished armor.

This one is truly a modern day sigh worthy romance with an edgy twist as Ms. Gadziala’s writing takes another leap forward with more story, more in-depth characters and just “more” of what keeps me coming back for more of her work. I love the darkness, the heart and the light at the end of each tale she tells!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Jessica Gadziala! This is my honest and voluntary review.

In the world of fixers where anything is possible it's safe to say I had zero expectations on how Finn's story would go or what kind of woman would take on the cleaner. I was not disappointed, not even a little.

I knew going in that Finn's story would be a hard read. Understanding that this depthy man has complex issues that have no quick fix is super important because the truth is that Finn is broken in a way that will break you heart but selfishly you'll love every piece of his uniquely hard and sweet personality. He has very complex PTSD with OCD that definitely effects his life hugely. He's unsure in a sweet almost shy way. He's sweet and funny and when he wants to be.. he's a bad***. I could not get enough of the many layers to this beautiful man. I found him so endearing.

I LOVED POPPY. As far as characters go she is one of my favorites ever. She wasn't what I expected, not that I really knew how she would be, but I just didn't expect her. She's blunt to the point of being cutthroat and totally unapologetic for it. She knows her worth and won't settle for anything less. She's strong, opinionated, smart and so passionate. She's a dominant personality for sure but she also has a huge amount of patience and empathy towards Finn that had me loving her even harder that I already did. She gave me Bailey Sarian vibes with her sloothing and true crime podcast. I felt immediately connected to her and loved seeing all the layers peel back because as a character... She had so much to give.

These two had me in all my feels. Now I think about it I honestly don't think there is a more perfect match. Her blunt honestly complements Finn's anxiety because he always knew where he stood with her. She didn't baby him but she did take care to help him in her own unique ways without leaving him feeling battered down. They brought out the best in one another and I really loved seeing the more vulnerable sides to their sharp personalities. The banter, the natural ease they had together.. the chemistry. They worked on a level deeper than just superficial attraction. I was fasinated by the dynamics between them and rooted so hard for their HEA. However that looked for them because let's be far, it was never going to be super normal.

I loved this story!!. Hello plot progression and perfectly paced storylines. Character development is of course phenomenal and not just with Finn and Poppy. The side characters are EVERYTHING. They add extra spice in this already flavor filled story and it was a pleasure to see old and new faces. The dynamics between all the fixers crack me up and despite the bickering and banter they have that family connection I can't get enough of!. Can we just say Bellamy is a world of trouble and I need him in my life!. That man has a pair on him I swear.

There is so many exciting possibilities for the future of this series I find myself stuck on who I want first. I'm intrigued by them all.

This is a rollercoaster of sweet lovings and heartbreaking realities. I laughed, cried, swooned and ranted but never did I put this book down until it was finished. It's so good. They may just be my favorite.

Holly Molly The Cleaner is Finally Here!!

Navesink Bank. The town slogan should be "Bikers, and Loansharks, and the mafia, oh my!"

I’ve been obsessed about Finn for a while now. He’s such a unique character and I just needed to know what made him tick and what kind of woman would capture his heart.

"But what about Harry and his eight-hundred children of specially trained karate crickets?" he teased.

Poppy is a true crime podcaster. She is a quirky take no prisoners kind of woman. She’s looking for a serial killer.

"Um, Yogurt, girl, can you at least pretend to be mean and scary for a couple minutes?"

There is humor as in all of JG’s books but this is a little more serious. After waiting all this time for this story it lived up to every expectation I had and more.

Finn is “The Cleaner” at a Fixer form. And Poppy is a True Crime you tuber/investigator. When she gets a little too close to Finn’s work, he decides he needs to find out who she is.
This story is a keep you on your toes book. It’s sexy. Plus there is a little bit of suspense and action mixed it to keep you needing to finish. The characters in this story were written so well that I want to be their friend. You get quickly drawn into their world and don’t want to leave.

Quinton Baird & Associates consists of a wonderful assortment of extraordinary people who all excel in their own way. Over the years, we've come to know each and every one of them, quirks and all. Some quirks are more enhanced than others, and the way Jessica Gadziala treats Finn's OCD is perfect in that it's matter-of-fact, not pity-inducing, and lets us fall in love with him even more because of (not in spite of) his flaws.

Poppy is a bad-ass. Her channel - Crime Time with Poppy - has many fans who avidly follow her reports on actual crimes, murders, disappearances in the local area. Her meticulous investigations and eloquent reports are addictive, as are her hosted Murder Mystery events. When she discovers a whole lot of locations where people mysteriously disappeared, as part of her research, she visits the sites. What she finds is perfect cleanliness. Most people don't live like that. And the only thing in common with these otherwise completely unconnected sites of disappearances is the particular smell of the disinfectant used in every single one. Convinced that there is a Navesink Bank serial killer, Poppy is hard on the scent.

This story has everything you could possibly want and more - chemistry, intrigue, violence, and more - it's a must read!

Finn and Poppy are the perfect mix. I loved this book for its quirkiness and build of story line. I'm so glad Finn got his HEA and that he got someone who doesn't judge him but gets him. The same is to be said for Poppy. Good job JG.

From the page Finn was introduced first in this series, I needed his story.
He was a tortured soul with 'looks like he will kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll' vibe.
As Poppy says " Pretty green eyes with a secret sadness..."
I'm beyond happy to finally get his book and his backstory. To know his sufferings, feelings and his dealing with PTSD and OCD. I fell for him okay.

And Poppy ! Oh, I loved this sarcastic, 'true crime' gobbling, ravishing creature. Her character was so much fun, an independent modern girl who earns with her own true crime podcast show.

'Crime Time with poppy' and cameo of 'Alex is on the case ' were highlights of the book !

Chemistry between Poppy and Finn was sizzling and I devoured their love story like a starved creature.

"It's got to be your awesome beard. I'm struck dumb by it, clearly," I said, then watched, utterly charmed, as a slight blush tinged his cheeks. A blush. On a full-grown-assed-man.

This book as most of JG's do, brings forward how girls/women aren't safe and need to take precautions. I love this about her books. How she shows us to be strong.

New hawt crew members ~ one Indian or mix I think, as name suggests ..well, we will know for sure when we get her book .
Another is a lawyer who I'm already into ...

Finn was everything 🧡

I have wanted more of Finn since we first met him in this series and every detail we have been blessed with has made me want him all the more! I knew there had to be something in his past to cause his OCD tendencies and of course my beautiful Finn had to do things that have attached themselves to his soul 😔 He has been blessed with a found family that has his back and even when he is intrusive (he can’t help it) they support him and help him manage in the only way he can.

Poppy is strong and independent which I think makes her moments of vulnerability all the more amazing. We get to see her go from not trusting anyone on the surface level to falling for our boy Finn without even knowing his last name!

The pace of the book was smooth; I wasn’t left wanting at any point. Once again I LOVE that we get to see their future at the end of every book! Thank you JG for giving us Finn and Poppy 💜🖤

The Cleaner is the ninth book in the Professionals series by Jessica Gadziala . In the world of fixers Finn is called for the clean up. He is ex-military with PTSD and severe OCD, his demons leave him wanting things to be clean and in there place. This helps him keep them locked away.

Poppy is a strong, independent, true crime podcaster and she's thinks there is a serial killer in Navesink Bank and she is going to catch him/her  She is a quirky take no prisoners kind of woman. She trust no one, so when Finn walks into her life and she instantly lets him in and trusts him she can't figure out why.

“I think we all amplified our flaws as an excuse to why we were unlovable. ‘Sometimes your imperfections were what people loved most about you. Except open-mouthed chewers. No one loved that particular flaw,”

The Cleaner is  great addition to the Navesink Bank universe, I've been waiting for Finn's story for a long time and it didn't' disappoint. We got some new faces and a lot of old, which for me make the stories and the books so enjoyable. We also get another kickass leading lady, full of quirkiness and sass! I highly recommend this read.

I have watched one true crime podcast so I really got into this! I’ve loved the Cleaner for a while he kinda motivates me to clean out the fridge...that’s as far as it goes and never any scrubbing or cleaning of coils though. JG wrote something that was so entertaining and fun to read. The heroine and hero’s banter was off the charts such wit and nuance.
Unlike another JG book this one gives the mum some leeway and spent time and effort giving her character.
It’s great seeing all the team along with the Detective spring into action but Finn was definitely MVP in this one...OK Poppy too. 🙃

Who doesn't love a good serial killer mystery?

Poppy is a true crime Podcaster. She is a bit paranoid but very aware and very popular.
Finn, oh Finn, the cleaner for our group of fixers. The guy who breaks into your house just to clean and has major anxiety issues.
What happens when a girl who investigates crime and a man who cleans up all kinds of messes, collide??!!!?? MAAAAAGIC!

This book was refreshing and different and plain amazing! Honestly my favorite of this series. PLUS ➕ 2 new characters!

I loved this book from start to finish. Finn is nicknamed The Cleaner for the work he does for the 'fixer' firm he works for because he is responsible for cleaning crime scenes of any kind of evidence. He suffers from PTSD and the cleaning is an obsessive compulsive need that's been mentioned throughout previous books in the series by other characters. In this one we experience it through his perspective, and his own understanding of why he does what he does, how it affects him, and his coping strategies. His romantic interest, Poppy, is a true crime podcaster investigating a series of unsolved crimes that may or may not lead back to Finn and his friends. I loved the relationship dynamic between Finn and Poppy and how Poppy reacts to Finn's OCD, as well as the interactions Finn has with other members of his firm (some of whom we haven't spent a lot of time with yet). Plus, serial killers!

Thank you to the author for the review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this book. The hero was a bit unusual, he has PTSD and uses cleaning to help him cope. So he likes to break into his co-worker's houses and clean them.

He also cleans for a living for the "fixer" firm he works at.

The heroine is a true crime podcast maker.

I liked their romance. He admits he does not know how to date. He buys her thoughtful gifts, spends a lot of time with her, they have hot sex.

There was also some humor, the heroine says some very funny things.

The book reads well as a stand alone. Some of the hero's coworkers have already found love in earlier books.
