Five years after her parents were murdered by their foster child in Alabama, Rose Grissom got a mysterious package in the mail, seemingly from someone long dead. The contents of the package filled her with the suffocating fear that her parents’ killer did not act alone, but was part of a boogeyman cult that had now turned its murderous gaze on her and her young family.

Jeff Lowe was born in New Jersey and grew up in the Panama Canal Zone. He has worked as a ship’s engineer, newspaper reporter, dry cleaner repairman, proposal writer, and Alzheimer’s caregiver. He now lives in Alabama where he writes stories and songs in a cabin he built on his grandfather’s farm. The Book of Cain is his debut novel.

such a good book, kind of graphic but really stuck with me. read it for the first time a couple years ago and have thought about it constantly.
