At first I wasn't sure how to rate this, but finally settled on a full five-star review. This book is full of diagrams, photos, and great information about the Stonehenge site, a lot more than I expected. It's not flowery, but not dry. It's easy to understand and touches on several aspects of the site I didn't expect, like comparing it to other ancient monuments. This is an absolutely great place to start to get a real idea of how rich Stonehenge and the landscape around it really is.
However, the book is still twenty years old (which almost made me give it only four starts, but if I had read this 20 years ago it still would have been impressive). In that time they've discovered more about the site thanks to improving technology. I don't know how out of date the information in this book might be, but I think it's still a great place to start and is worth it for the diagrams and artifact photos alone.
A great resource on everything Stonehenge (as well as Stonehenge-like structures). There is a lot to be learned from this book that even Wikipedia cannot tell you. Dripping with gorgeous photography and drawings, as well as plenty of hard facts, this book is both fun and educational. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the supernatural, in Stonehenge, in ancient structures, or just in books with lots of pictures.
This was a cool book, very informative about what Stonehenge actually comprises of and the known history about the site. It's a bit old by now, but still has the building blocks.
