“Inconclusive Evidence… A playful, well-researched thriller that remains romantically genuine throughout.” – Kirkus Review

Inconclusive Evidence

Lines between predator and prey blur in these action-packed police procedural thrillers.

The arrival of mysterious packages and a series of dire warnings become Megan’s reality after opening her veterinary practice. Instead of beginning her new career, she must decipher a riddle along with reams of medical reports in order to survive. Failure will change the course of history.

Entering a world of advanced surgical techniques, polymer microchips, and nanotechnology, she discovers twisted minds merging the latest science with progressive surgical procedures in a bid for power and wealth.

Lucas faces the biggest upheaval of his life. From chick magnet to wounded cop wasn’t a fall he’d foreseen. Now facing retirement and life as a private investigator, he returns home to find a gun-toting amateur sleuth with multiple IDs deciphering stacks of technical, medical jargon and embroiled in a plot destined to alter mankind’s path.

Stalkers and assassins draft reality checks that test their survival skills and endurance while uniting them to thwart a bi-coastal conspiracy.

Carbon Replacements

The killer held a knife to her throat…
The ultimate decision locked within a dark and deviant gaze.

Remie Tallin is a small town, forensic pathologist tasked with unraveling the mystery of a victim’s final moments of life. In returning to her small town in Portland, her fresh start comes complete with a psychopathic stalker designating her a pawn in his disturbing and seductive game of intrigue.

Evidence doesn’t lie, yet conflicting discoveries mock the legal system and defy the scientific arena for clarification. The end result will be chaos if she doesn’t survive to decipher fact from fiction. Protection is an elusive dream when even police officers are marked as targets.

Detective McAllister’s return from leave includes a new assignment along with a partner well versed in subtle sarcasm and innuendos.

Their discovery of the new medical examiner, unconscious at the scene of a grisly murder, forces him to unite with his brothers against a world of manufactured evidence where reality shifts according to a psychopath’s desire. Together, they must uncover a conspiracy and the murderer bent on reshaping the laws of nature.

I positively adore Reily Garrett’s work, and the McAllister Justice series is a wonderful example of how great Reily Garrett’s stories are.

This boxset contains the books three and four in the series, Inconclusive Evidence and Carbon Replacements, with both being solid four-star ratings. Both are fabulous reads, offering up wonderful examples of the amazing you can expect from Reily Garrett. You’re pulled into each story from the very start, quickly finding yourself addicted; there’s plenty of action to keep you hooked; plenty of steamy moments to get your blood pumping for a different reason; you fall in love with the characters – the chemistry between the couples is something you will adore, and the wonderful relationship between the brothers will leave you wanting to join the family; the writing is fabulous; and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. All in all, Reily Garrett offers up all you need in a book that leaves you turning page after page.

Although each book in the series works perfectly fine as a standalone novel, I would recommend reading these books in order. Not only are they amazing books, but it is so much fun to watch the way the characters grow throughout the series. Trust me, this is a series worth reading.

~This McAllisters Justice set is Sci-Fi, Mystery, Action, Romance
~First, I’ll state that I received these books as a gift from the author to read and review
~The two books in this set are a little bit different from the other stories in the series. They have a much more technical, sci-fi, edge to them. No, I am not referring to little green men. In real life there are scientific breakthroughs that give rise to certain concerns. I am not a conspiracy theorist, and I don’t think that Big Brother is watching our every move…however, it is interesting to note how advertising is targeted to one’s computer and social media accounts! I am not going to have a chip inserted in my hand to allow me easy access to the company door locks and vending machines…this technology does exist.
~And this is exactly what the first book, “Inconclusive Evidence” is based on…a fledgling technology that does exist and, in the wrong hands, could create a real nightmare.
~The McAllister family is thrown into the middle of the fray by a series of events. And once the bad guys hurt one of the family, they have to deal with a united force of the entire family. A new character, Megan, was introduced to the readers. She offers a new and different perspective to the family…unlike the others, she does not come from a law enforcement or criminal (Lexi with her white hat hacking) background. With the introduction of Lucas to Megan, he has met his match. A veterinarian and not prone to violence…however, she does not hesitate to defend herself and in the process proves quite capable with a tranquilizer gun.
~It was a good twist to see one of the clan, Lucas, not quite up to full speed, somewhat vulnerable…and how he pulls his own weight, yet is taken care of care of by other family members.
~Because of the science-fiction bend to the story, there was a fair amount of high-tech jargon. The author, Reily Garrett, did a good job of having Megan explaining it to, first Lucas, then to the others. This was a good technique to get the medical and science concept across to the readers.
~Not your typical murder mystery…though there was a pretty high body count by the last chapter…there was a high level of deception, intrigue, and plenty of action. There was a romantic element also…between Lucas and Megan which did not overpower the story.

~“Carbon Replacements” the second book good book in the series. It sort of follows up in the same theme of “Inconclusive Evidence”…a very intense medical, sci-fi mystery. Ground-breaking technology is a good thing…medical advances are can be a blessing… experimentation and testing are necessary…However, when a demented evil scientist goes too far -which they always do- the body count of innocent people rises and someone needs to step in and take action.
~I found this to be a very intense book from the very opening pages. Author, Reily Garrett, did an excellent job of weaving the story around the lives of the McAllisters. There were tensions among the family with the revel of certain growing romantic relationships…but they were worked out satisfactorily by the end of the story. Each book builds on the one before and helps to establish what is to come in the next one.
~As I mentioned above, this is a very intense story…the plot is complex and the bad guy is devious. Evidence can be twisted and reformed…making even the best of people look suspect. It is a nerve-racking path that the villain leads the reader on. I was disturbed, concerned, worried, that perhaps, justice might not be served…however, it all came together by the last chapter.
~Once again, I would recommend these books to anyone who loves a good adventure-mystery…especially one with just a touch of romance added in for good measure.

Great Series!!

I recently came across this author. I love the characters and their interactions as they have become good friends. Reilly keeps you on the edge of your seat through the intense mysteries/thrillers. There are many twists and turns in each book and the perpetrator is never obvious. I love this series and this author's writing style!!

cheap tricks

Okay, if you like crude sexual innuendo and provocative thoughts and the regular use of the ‘F’ bomb, then hey this book is for you.
I don’t so did not read much. A pity really as the blurb sounded most interesting.

Justice

Justice. Really? Justice would be an author who could write a good story without crummy language. Give me a break!
