Objectively this is a 4-5 stars fic/book, but if I were to rate it based on my feelings I would probably give it more like a 3-3.5 stars.
This is a alternate universe wolfstar fanfic, and it's a slow (ish) burn second chance romance.
In this fic, Remus and Sirius are both musicians that fell in love during college and tragically broke up at 22. The story starts seven years after the break up, when Remus goes back to New York (where he and Sirius went to college and met) to play with the NY philharmonic orchestra. There, he reencounters Sirius and they start to rekindle their friendship and love. The story in itself is amazing, it could very very easily be turned into a book. However, I felt that it lacked a little in details regarding the characters and Remus' and Sirius' previous relationship. I wanted to know more about it, while reading I wished that there was a prequel to this because I would've really apreciated more details. Also, I felt that it could have had A LOT more angst and could've been a slower burn. But, overall, this was pretty good, the author's writing is amazing and you can really tell that they really enjoy and know about music. I look foward to reading the sequel and I hope that that brings some more insight into the characters and their relationship.

CUTE. SOOOOOO CUTE. LOVE IT SO CUTE YES. probably my favourite modern au ever. plus they're MUSICIANS???? yeah this is a god tier fic.
one thing about me i will eat up a "break up and get back together years later" trope EVERY SINGLE TIME. the angst. the yearning. the growth. nothing compares ever. everything about this fic just feels right. of course remus is a pianist from cleveland. of course james is a himbo accountant from california. of course him and lily bought a townhouse in yonkers. everything about this fic and its characters feels so organic and real its impossible not to fall in love with it and them. 4.8/5 stars i only wish it was longer <33

absolutely stunning <3

i read this after seeing it inspired flight 143 (which is also absolutely amazing!!) and this honestly was everything I thought it would be and more.

I went and listened to liebestraum and sobbed my heart out and I’ve been listening to it practically everyday.

Remus in this fic was just the best, and the love that persisted through their seven years apart literally broke my heart. When Sirius flew half way across the country to be with Remus when his mum had her surgery, even thought they had been broken up for seven years and were barely friends again has got to be one of my favourite parts.

I really just loved this so much. So so so much.

(Also this year I will be putting fics on my Goodreads cause I’m reading so I should count idc what anyone says)

“No,” Sirius confirmed with a slow shake of his head. The corner of his mouth lifted more, and he let out an amused exhale through his nose right before he continued, “You know, I told Marlene about a year ago that if I ever got another chance with you — if the stars aligned and the universe saw fit to bring us back together and all that bullshit jargon — it would be the greatest thing to ever happen to me,” he raised his eyebrows, “And then a couple of weeks later, Minerva announced that you’d be in New York playing Rach 3.” He rested his hand on the couch between them and the measured tone of his voice carried delicately through the air between them, “and now here we are, sitting together in your Manhattan apartment after you kissed me on your parents’ couch a month ago, and I just can’t shake the feeling that maybe everything that happened between us makes sense, that this was exactly how it was supposed to go all along.”

“It’s funny, actually,” Sirius continued, and Remus kept his hands right where they were for this. “When I started writing the piece, this is exactly what I was hoping for. And now we’re here — and we shagged for a long while and it was brilliant, I think it’s safe to say — and the air has been cleared and then the first time I play it, you’re standing there all flummoxed while wearing my stupid pajamas. And honestly, Remus, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so inspired.” Remus took another deep breath or two and decided that as much as he loathed the idea, it was time to uncover his face. He dropped his hands and carded one through his wet hair once. “I hate you,” he uttered helplessly after a beat. Sirius’ mouth slowly crooked to the side as his eyes scanned Remus completely, and they eventually caught Remus’ eyes and settled there. “I hate you too,” he said softly, and Remus didn’t know what to do with himself, because they both knew what that really meant. It was everything, and it was all at once, and he felt it like flames igniting every cell of his body.

Sirius looked down at the floor and his body shook with quiet laughter — as if he had expected it all along — and Remus was once again awed by how Sirius could read him, like there was an underlying current surging from his core that only Sirius was tuned into. That only Sirius had ever been tuned into. And that was a one in seven billion kind of thing, Remus was sure of it.
