Listen to as an audiobook run at 1.5. It was an old cake crime mystery said in Britain. it is set sometime after World War II in London wear a senior English inspector works with an undercover police officer, David Morgan, and his ex-girlfriend Susan to uncover a somewhat prominent English businessman, who using shady practices has gobbled up a number of companies as used rough tactics ran heroin out of Italy and ordered several murders all while trying to keep a high profile as a successful businessman. Much of the book, it’s not really clear who is working for who Morgan Susan various inspector is various characters that may or may not be on which side of the law but it all becomes clear in the last 20% of the book. It was OK, but doesn’t make me want to rush to read one of the many other mysteries from this author.
