I waited for the blow, but it didn’t come. There was a gust of wind and a loud bang, then nothing but a faint ringing in my ears and tingling in my palms. When I opened my eyes, the woman was gone… After making a shocking discovery about herself, Lucy must embrace her destiny or follow in the tragic footsteps of the women who came before her. Lucy Owens was your average eighteen-year-old with overprotective guardians until an ancient Prophecy sent an army of Gifteds (humans with supernatural abilities) after her. Still haunted by her last encounter with Donovan’s Army, Lucy is looking forward to putting the past few months behind her and preparing herself to eventually face the Big Bad. When Donovan and his followers have other plans, Lucy barely escapes with her life, until she discovers something about herself that changes everything. After Embry and Gabriel, the men sworn to protect her, whisk Lucy away to New Orleans, she is left with more questions than answers. There, Lucy must confront her guilt, face her fears and dig deep into the lives of her ancestors in order to master her newfound skills. Hopefully before the Big Bad finds her and completes his centuries-long quest. Destiny is the second novel in a coming of age paranormal trilogy by Amanda Lynn Petrin. If you like strong and vulnerable heroines who keep fighting no matter how many times they are knocked down, then you’ll love this supernatural adventure.
Fantastic book with an amazing characters. I loved it. I read Prophecy first and I am so looking forward to Legacy the third and final chapter to this Trilogy. I have come to love Lucy and her friends and I am excited to find out how her adventure will unfold.

Remarkable job Amanda, thanks for sharing this amazing thrill with us.
This second instalment of the series is better than the first. The original twist develops more, the mystery is slowly being uncovered and there is greater character development. In fact the new characters are great and the sense of evil spreads.
This is an enjoyable read with enough fantasy, magic and mystery for me not to mind the romance. I am not a big fan of budding romance but many enjoy this in novels.
I am glad I bought the second in the series and now I will get book three to find out what happens.
Gabriel, Embry and Lucy have been on the run from Donavan. They escaped to Embry's villa to give Lucy a chance to practice and learn to control her magic. Charlie is a good friend of Ember and Gabriel and his grandson Eric is home from college. Eric likes Lucy but also realized that she will never be his. Gabe and Embry have it out finally and the air is cleared.
Wonderfully easy book to read. Action packed, the story line constantly moving from the first to the last page. It’s within this book that we start finding out a lot more about the main character and what makes her so unique. The main character deals with some complicated internal emotions based on decisions that she and others made together and the consequences that happened.
This series is great!! I got the first book for free and thought it was good enough to buy the 2nd. Needless to say, I'm buying the 3rd. I love the story, the characters are very relatable. I do hope that Gabriel finally gets his happily ever after.
Lucy, Embry, and Gabriel stay in a safe enough place while they know Donovan won’t go after them. There’s less than enough time for Lucy to study the books given her, socialize, and train before the major fight occurs.
