A mature, young adult, coming-of-age romance novel written in the first-person point of view.
Diana portrays a tough exterior but carries the emotional burden of her father’s abandonment and mother’s trauma. She’s used to living with a single parent, struggling financially, and caring for her autistic younger brother. Needless to say, her broken family has left Diana with emotional trauma of her own. She has trust issues and is a little neurotic. She overanalyzes everything and believes to be unlovable or unwanted until she piques the interest of Ace, her three-year crush, Mr. Popular on the school’s basketball team. He introduces her into a world of feelings she never knew existed and begins to believe in love, believing she matters. She gains a new self-confidence, that is, until she gets to know his parents and his best friend. His parents are wealthy and judgmental. The opposite of everything her and her family represent. His best friend, Veronica, is secretly in love with him and is everything she’s not. Will Diana find the conviction she needs to fight for love, to fight for what she wants?
Warning: Mature/sensitive content, language, and explicit sexual scenes. Also, this is the first book part of a three book series, therefore, it ends on a cliffhanger.

I loved Breakable Moon so much! What an amazing start to The Broken series!
Diana Luna is independent, loving, intelligent, and an overthinker. She tends to stay in the shadows and avoid attention, but has a small group of close friends. Diana has been crushing on Ace Martinex for three years and one day crosses paths with him and things change for the both of them.
I loved these two together! Their chemistry was amazing and there were so many cute moments between the two as their relationship progressed. I loved Diana from the moment she was introduced to us and Ace. He could be so frustrating at times, but the fact that he was honest with his feelings was amazing!
Veronica was a character I couldn’t help, but hate. On the outside she was everything amazing, but on the inside she was a horrible person.
I loved the high school drama and angst and how it played a role in Ace and Diana’s relationship.
The cliffhanger though! I need the second book now!
I am hooked! I loved Ace and Diana, they make a cute couple! I loved how realistic their relationship felt, especially with all the drama around them. They are still growing and I cannot wait to see what they do next.
If you haven’t read Breakable Moon yet, you must!!! I really enjoyed reading the story and loved Diana!! Her and Ace’s story is so sweet but also I loved the drama with his best friend Veronica!! And the cliffhangerrrr OMG! I can’t wait for book 2!! What an awesome debut.
Breakable Moon is the first book of The Broken Series. I finished it in one sitting and that says a lot about how much I liked it. The story is very well-paced, I enjoyed reading from Diana’s perspective. While Diana and Ace take the stage, I love the conversations and bonds they share with other characters ✨
Diana Luna, an independent, intelligent and loving character. She grew up with her single mother and autistic younger brother. As with many teenage girls, she tends to overthink A LOT. At school, she tries to avoid drawing attention and has a small but tight group of friends, Casey and Skylar. One day, she crossed paths (again) with her three-year crush Ace Martinez at chemistry lesson and he set her world spinning. There are so many cute, sweet and beautiful moments shared between these high school sweethearts, from having their first kiss, officially becoming girlfriend/ boyfriend and taking things to the next level 💕
Ace is frustrating at times, but I love how honest he is with his feelings, how he stands up to his parents and how he persists to be with Diana 🥺 Veronica is one of those characters you can’t help but hate her from the beginning till the end. She may be seen as a beautiful, young and cultured girl, but she is anything BUT. It infuriates me to see her constantly attempts to sabotage Diana and Ace with her childish moves 🙄
Breakable Moon ends on a cliffhanger and I am desperate to find out what happens next. Shattered Star, the second book of the trilogy will be released on 20th August. Add this to your TBR now ✅
Everyone deserves to find their Hoku, and I hope you’ll find yours x
This is my first @marisellabooks read. This is also her debut. I started following Ella on Instagram and she's a sweetheart. I heard all about her books from different bookstagrammers. I also saw many pretty teasers and I just had to read it. 😉
LET ME START BY SAYING THAT THIS IS A WONDERFUL DEBUT! 💖
It caught me by surprise and I really loved it. ❤ This story was great from start to finish. I loved the chemistry between Ace & Diana. We got to see their relationship grow.
Diana was a wonderful heroine. She was honest, kind, intelligent and I loved her. And Ace, I fell in love with him right from the start. 🤤🤤
This book had everything I could want in a book:
Beautiful writing Amazing characters Well developed plot line
Breakable Moon was fast-paced and so entertaining that I ended up reading it in one sitting. I couldn't stop flipping the pages... Started reading it at night after a long day at work. I needed to sleep but..WHO NEEDS SLEEP. I just wanted to read MORE! 🤭
It was a great introduction to series! Sweet, sexy, emotional and fun!
My only complaint: it could have been longer. I mean that cliffhanger though😭 I really HATE YOU ELLA!! 😂😂 (just kidding but I'm really desperate for the second book lol)
So, to sum up this long ass rambling review...I really enjoyed book and I highly recommend it to everyone. It’s a page-turner that is guaranteed to entertain. ❤
Loooooved this book!! I was a little skeptical at first due to the YA nature of the writing. It’s written from Diana’s thoughts (who is a high school junior), just like she would write in a diary. I found it somewhat immature at first, but it definitely grew on me. Once I really got into the story, I couldn’t put it down.
This story is full of ALL the high school angst and drama- young love, first times, jealousy, annoying families, and tough choices. Definitely a few touchy subjects throughout the book and we are left with a major cliffhanger. Looking forward to book 2- I need to know what happens next!!
A lovely read. Very well written an great pace. I loved the develop of the characters and the journey they take together. I found it hard to put it down. This book does end on a cliff hanger and I need the second book like yday! So excited!!
I read this book a while back but had saved my review for the sequel. Wow I was literally on the end of my seat, will they won’t they is he a dick is he nice? I absolutely loved Ace and was hoping he was a good guy, but the heartbreaking ending of this first instalment left me with a cry bubble in my throat & disappointment in my heart.
Awesome read ! I just finished reading this book and had to come review it. I’ve totally fallen in love with the characters, Diana and Ace! This book is part 1 of a 3 book series , I’m already looking out for when the second book comes out because this one ends on a cliff hanger !
Ahhh just finished this debut novel by Maris and I really enjoyed it! It was a sweet story about a coming of age romance ❤️
I loved the two main characters; Ace & Diana and their relationship. I really enjoyed getting to know them, Diana was so smart & strong willed and Ace was so sweet & loving. I really liked them together.
But..... that cliffhanger 😭 this is the first in a series and I am desperate for the second one now! Can’t wait to see what is going to happen in the rest of their story! 💕
Have read 16 chapters of this book. Love the way author goes into detail and explains the romance of the couples characters. Definitely give a 5 star and recommend this book to those who like romance. Looking forward to finishing this book and purchasing the rest of the collection.
I loved it! Definitely a must read, I couldn’t put the book down. It definitely ends on a cliffhanger, making you want more! I can’t wait for book 2! It can’t get here soon enough!
This is the first book in the broken trilogy. It’s a sweet romance with steamy scenes and lots of drama. The emotions of the characters are real and theme of the story is relatable. It had everything look forward to when reading and I found it hard to put it down. The cliffhanger killed me! I can’t wait for the second book!
Diana's quirky personality made it easy to instantly fall in love with her character. Ace, the popular guy in school really likes her and I love how their relationship unfolded. His bestie Veronica is a thorn in my side, well, Diana's really, but if I could have reached into the book and slapped her, I would have. Maris definitely makes you feel strongly for her characters, whether that feeling is love or hate, is another story. I loved following Diana and Ace on their journey to love. The story was so good, with real life issues. There were sweet, loving scenes, steamy scenes and even heart wrenching scenes. My heart has been ripped to shreds, but I'm confident that Maris will put it back together in Shattered Star...after of course, stomping on it a little more first 😉🖤
I absolutely love this book! It was fast paced with some very cute scenes here and there. Diana is so relateble and so sassy and witty and so normal. The fact that I can imagine any girl reacting in the same way is what I loved the most. I love the way Ace learns about Ryan's condition so that he could make him feel comfortable is so admirable and sweet. Ace totally give the cute-boy-next-door vibes which I totally love. I love Skylar and Cassie. The way Diana steps up to support her mother and brother is inspiring. Whenever the story goes perfectly smooth I know that there is going to be a miscommunication or something and that only happens. I can't wait to read more of Ace and Diana
This is a quick, angsty teenage romance novel. It definitely captures the roller coaster of young love, jealousy, and hormones. I felt like the writing was choppy or underdeveloped at times. If you’re looking for a steamy cliffhanger with all the feels, this one is for you.
This is a easy read about two high school kids that start up a romantic relationship one is confidant the other is not for one this opens up a whole new world that’s worth fighting for. This book does have sexual content
