I found my audiobook copy of TWISTED GAME by Nora Kane on KU!

I didn't realize this was part of a series, and since the main conflict doesn't resolve, I can't give an accurate synopsis. But the ending was pretty good, even still.

I recommend you read the previous books, and this one ends in a cliffhanger, so you'll need to complete the series for resolution.

Despite not knowing where I was in the story, style and character work were pretty good. I like the grumpy sleuth and the snippy criminals. I wasn't a fan of a main character who cursed so much, or of a script with so much cursing in general.

Hot tubs are hazardous

Well Whaddya know?! Margot's got a new case. Sad tho, seeing as how there may be bad guys involved, again!
There's some real detecting footwork going on and dontcha know Margot's right smack down in the middle of it! Did I ever tell you Margot was kick ass? Well we get to see her in action!
And then there's Lucas, the sissy faced loud mouthed hot air show off. How he managed to survive as long as he has is anyone's guess..
So, this Twisted series is going lead us off on another journey compliments of Nora. I've gotten quite to the point I like how she's telling the stories . So, go get that sandwich or soup, some chips or crackers , and your drink and settle in for at least a hour or two and visit with Margot, Radcliff again!--P/(Irishcharmer on Amazon)

Cassandra is certain that Margot is in fact a hitwoman for the Baja Cartel and gives tantalizing reports of Margot's very busy working life on a a daily basis. 'Viuda Negra', Cassandra has coined her. Black Widow. And Pheobe is the main suspect in the double homicide - unless they were killed by Margot's investigator, Mal Raines. Earlier books seemed to follow the same basic plot but Twisted Game is much better at combining plot with character development and is a very enjoyable read. In Twisted Game Margot really shines as a bad ass while trying to prove an ex-girlfriend of Radcliff, Margot's current boyfriend, is innocent of murder. There is much humorous dialog - excellent - when Margot meets the mobster who is Phoebe's lover.
Twisted Game has one of the best plot lines in the series so far. It is expressed mainly in the dialog. Margot follows the clues to find the killer even though all of them point to Phoebe. Complications arise when Margot becomes the focus of a vlog by an ambitious reporter.
There is a twist in the before everything makes sense. This is a fast read.

Margot Harris Series 2

Another case that Margot has been pulled in to solve. This case involves a couple murdered in a hot tub. When Phoebe, the wife of the man who was found dead in the hot tub, is arrested for the murder. Radcliffe, who is Margot's boyfriend, asked her to investigate the case and find out if Phoebe or someone else did the crime. Grab a copy or download the book and see if you can solve the case before Margot does.

I have one little complaint about this story...it just wasn't long enough! You can't help but love Margot. She is smart, sassy and brave. She doesn't back down and won't accept defeat. An engrossing story - perfect dialogue and fascinating characters. It keeps getting better and better. If you are looking for a dangerous treat - here it is. Highly Recommended.

Margot seems to always been in trouble with someone shooting st her, or wanting to frame her for murder, She wants answers and doesn’t back down. Friends with the good guys and the bad. Cassie who has been reporting about Margot the good and bad is kidnapped and even though she is put out with her reporting comes to her rescue. A good dialog with good humor .

Really enjoyed

Book 6, and a new case for Margot. Still dating the detective, Margot is now a partner at Shaw investigation. Margot has a new case, but can she prove the client is innocent. With a YouTube blogger following her and making up stories will she be able to do her job and find the real killers. Highly recommend

A quick engaging read even as a standalone

I was pulled in from the start. I read this book, number 6 of the series as a. ARC reader, not having read the prior 4 books and had no problem keeping up. The tangential mob connection made for interesting reading. I look forward to reading the previous books as well as the rest of the series.

An easy read with humor

Margot was hired to find evidence to defend Phoebe from a murder indictment. Margot is definitely not someone to mess with .
There is a lot of dry humor in this short story .

The 1st book or 5 short stories while they where good they felt kinda lacking. This book being roughly 40 pages longer made the flow feel better and the characters had better depth.

The narrative is great, setting the scene and helping to further develop the characters’ personalities. The mystery itself is twofold, the murder and the family problems. The investigation is filled with pitfalls, unexpected twists, multiple motives and surprises that keep you glued right to the end.

Is a very well written book. Twisted game is a very good novel. The story really grabs you, it keeps you fascinated until the end.
If you like a mystery and an exciting book, this is a very good choice. Nora Kane provides a few wonderful reading hours with this series.
