Revenge. Jenna had thought she wanted it before but it’s nothing compared to the scorching ire she lives with now. With her home and heart in ruins, she’s ready to repay the favor. The duke has taken her in, but not out of the kindness of his heart. The lavish suite and full-service harem at her disposal are not enough to disguise the setup for what it is: a gilded cage.
As the Midsummer’s Eve Ball draws near, where the queen has promised to announce Jenna’s new sire, Jenna plots to bring House Lilith to its knees. Starting with Dante Lilosa, the man she blames for everything wrong in her life. Blood family or not, she’s determined to see him pay for his crimes… unless Ursula, the returned Duchess of House Lilith, makes Jenna pay for her sins first.
USA Today bestselling author Angela Roquet is a delightfully macabre weirdo. She lives in Missouri with her irresistible BFF husband, their sweet, clever son, and a majestic marshmallow of a Great Pyrenees in a house stuffed with books, toys, skulls, owls, and glitter-speckled craft supplies.
Angela is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association, as well as the Four Horsemen of the Bookocalypse, her epic book critique group, where she’s known as Death. When not swearing at the keyboard, she enjoys playing with her family and reading books that raise eyebrows.
GRAVEYARD SHIFT, the first novel in Angela's Lana Harvey, Reapers Inc. series, and BLOOD VICE, book one in the Blood Vice series, are now available for FREE on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, iBooks, & Google.
Thicker than Blood finds Jenna confined to the dukes home. Is this a prison or what saves her? Another page turner for me. I was lost in this story from page 1. So much happens and is revealed as with each installment. I’m off to book 6!
I enjoy reading this book even though it was short. We get to see the insight of the royal family. Make me glad I'm not royalty. To many back stabling of council members and jealousy from other vampire for me. The story take place over two week. A lot happen. We see Jen grown a lot in this book. The Duke isn't as bad as I thought. Roman isn't in the book but that ok. The last book left me not in his corner on his let sneak around with Jen. He should have know better since he has knowledge in this world. I think the best thing for him was when the Duke kill him to become a vampire. He is not right for her. I hope she be over him by the next book. She needs closer to get on with her new life. The Duke did try to help her. Jen is drop into this world with no sire to help her navigate through it. To bad she was making bad decisions that landing her in the spot she is in. Or maybe not. Right now, she feeling the old saying of "be careful what you ask or you might get it". I kinda would like to see her with the Duke or the very lest get to know him more. Ursula has more layer to her and we gotten to see them in this book. I'm looking forward for the next book. Overall this book is interest to make me buy the next one. I hope you will enjoy this as must as I did!
Jenna Skye has continually failed upward in her vampiric career. After having failed as a mortal police officer, Blood Vice detective, and now prisoner of the Duke, she has discovered herself rapidly approaching nobility. She blames the Duke for the disintegration of an important relationship to her, though, and that's not going away any time soon. Jenna's behavior isn't great this book because she blames the Duke for a lot of decisions she made herself. Still, I liked her and Ursula's interactions as well Jenna's budding friendships with the Duke's staff.
Plus, you know the Duke and she are going to have a thing.
This series has only gotten better and this fifth book is no exception. I love the characters, the intrigue and wondering what will happen next. I also really like how this book involves more of the royal family and all the issues that come along with being part of that family I really wish the next book was out already so I could continue binge reading this series!
This series just gets better every book so many twists laws and secrets she saved the queens life and asked for a sire but what she didn't count on was having a the ditches she captured to be her sire so got the next 50 years that's what's going to happen and the duke the one she had wanted to strangle for destroying her life is also part of this sire
I know Jenna felt that she needed to and deserved her revenge on those she felt wronged her. I'm glad that she found it in herself to take a step back and think about what's happening around her. It felt like she grew just a little.
I found this series a few days ago and have read a book a day. Really enjoying this series. Jenna grows more into her new life as a vampire with each book.
Jenna is trying to stay one step ahead of trouble by agreeing to help the Duke. The action just keeps getting better another book you do not want to put down in the series.
