A mysterious death on the mountain with an assortment of suspects = a compelling, cozy mystery!Perched on the slopes of Dagger Peak Mountain, Skyview Ski Resort offers a warm and comfortable sanctuary for thrill-seeking skiers.
Jasmine Maverick is a young woman with a past. A self-trained ski instructor and part-time amateur sleuth, she is a valued staff member. She’s also tough as nails and as independent as they come.
When a group of wealthy skiers descends on the resort, a thorny tangle of family feuds, affairs and lies results in a mysterious death. Jasmine weaves her way from suspect to suspect, trying to find her way to the truth.
Following along the twists and turns of the case, she realizes victims and their killers are not always what they seem to be. The elusive truth is sometimes not that simple to uncover.
Jasmine had an interesting and different job for a main character, and I like how she was already dating the deputy and sometimes helped them nab criminals. The family that came to the resort was definitely a collective piece of work! It made me think of the old nighttime soap Dallas with all the jealousy and greed going on.
Jasmine was a good strong character who used her head. I liked Helena, the woman she worked for. She seemed kind and a good, fair boss to have. Now Jasmine's coworkers were another story, lol. Those guys were like middle schoolers! Thanks to Jas, the case was solved. I'll probably pick up the next book sometime along the way from KU. I know it's a limited series, and I wouldn't mind seeing how it progresses and ends.
A strong self-sufficient woman works at a ski resort. A man brings his family and key employees for a bonding retreat but it turns deadly. Interesting characters.
