When wealthy Blake Mulligan gets jilted at the altar, he breaks free of his ‘predictable’ reputation by going on the honeymoon cruise anyway—without his snobby, socialite fiancée. For the next fourteen days he hopes to escape reality and pretend he hasn’t suffered the humiliation of a lifetime. The last thing he expects is to meet beautiful songstress Jubilee Collazo with her honey-sweet voice.
Jubilee is talented and passionate and doesn’t just march to the beat of her own drum—she dances to it. While she longs to do more than croon cover songs from a cruise ship stage, she enjoys seeing the world. Her love of travel makes her the perfect person to show Blake around each exotic stop of the Mediterranean cruise.
What starts out as a simple tour guide arrangement, quickly grows into something more. Despite their different backgrounds, Blake and Jubilee discover an incredible connection they never imagined possible. But as their final destination approaches, so does reality. Like points on a compass, their lives seem to be charted in opposite directions—his to the Hamptons and high-society, and hers back out across the rolling seas. Can anything short of a perfect storm keep these two lovebirds together?
I love love love Jubilee. Her story is not only very unique but interesting. I loved how she was working for her own dreams and wouldn't put them aside for this guy. Then there's the guy... I'm sorry but how are you acting like this after getting yielded at the altar? How are you brushing over it like it's nothing? I get that maybe there wasn't alot of romance behind it but I feel like we could have gone into such interesting detail surrounding this wedding especially in correlation with his family but this book only scratched the surface level of what it could have been.
i thought i wasn’t going to like this because it was giving off such friends to lovers vibes but i actually really enjoyed it! i love beefy blake! jubilee was my favorite because she was so sweet but not too sweet to the point that it was annoying? and their relationship? omg so cute! i didn’t like the miscommunication at the end, the book could’ve done without which is the only reason it’s 4 stars instead of 5.
I impulsively requested an advanced copy of For Vacation Only by Mila Nicks after taking one glance at that beautiful cover. I’m really glad that I did pick it up because it ended up being a fresh, romantic, and serotonin-boosting read for me.
LEFT AT THE ALTAR Blake’s fiancee leaves him at the altar on their wedding day and runs off with some random dude. To get away from everyone’s prying, he decides to go on the honeymoon cruise that he and his fiancee had planned. All he intends on doing while aboard is to relax and enjoy his time away from his wealthy family. What he doesn’t expect is to meet a radiant and enchanting singer with purple hair who shows him around the Mediterranean and sneaks her way into his heart.
A SWEET ENDEARING HERO I can’t tell you all how much I enjoyed the characters in For Vacation Only. I liked that we got dual POVs here because we get to be inside both Jubilee and Blake’s heads. They are both lovely in their own ways and it was a treat getting to acquainted with them throughout the book. I’ve said this a lot in my recent reviews but I’m loving all the sweet beta heroes that I keep coming across in my romance reads. Blake is 100% a caring and humble romance hero. He comes from a fairly wealthy and renowned family, but he manages to stay down-to-earth. I liked that he is very much aware of his privilege and the power he holds as a wealthy white man.
I also love reading about men who are comfortable with their emotions and aren’t afraid to express them around others. For instance, Blake is extremely shy at times to the point that he will blush and get flustered around Jubilee because he finds her so beautiful. I don’t know why that was so damn adorable, but I was that puppy-eyes emoji every time he seemed to lose his words in awe around Jubilee. Not to mention, he likes a good snuggle and is okay crying in public while watching Up. Please, how is that not the cutest?
A HEROINE TRYING TO FIND HERSELF Jubilee was equally fantastic as a protagonist. She is finally catching a big break on this cruise as a lead singer and is feeling excited but also nervous. She has gone through life constantly being compared to her more traditionally successful older sister by her mother. Obviously, that sort of constant comparison can truly wreck a person’s self-confidence in damaging ways. Jubilee, however, manages to have a confident aura. Her drive and her passion come through the book.
I felt for her whenever she talked about being this woman who isn’t necessarily taken seriously even in relationships because she is fun and outgoing. Nobody has seen her as girlfriend material and as a result, her relationships have always been fleeting.
THEY SAY THEY ARE STRICTLY FRIENDS, BUT ARE THEY REALLY? So, I was happy for Jubilee to have met someone who is devoted to her but also sees her value in Blake. From their first meeting, the sparks and connection between the two lit up the pages of the book. I was charmed by their banter and flirtatious exchanges. Because of both their circumstances – Jubilee’s career on cruise ships and Blake’s recently broken engagement – they decide to start off as cruise friends. But as Jubilee guides Blake around the Mediterranean, their connection only intensifies.
I love how they are both very determined to only be friends, but they can’t stop touching and kissing each other. I loved that I could tell how much at ease they put each other. It’s all very soft and adorable. Oh and this book has that scene that I tend to love in a romance book where the MC kisses their love interest in order to shut them up while they are babbling! Jubilee does that to Blake here and it is so cute!! And when they finally consummate their relationship? It was steamy!
The third-act conflict in this book does rely on miscommunication. There’s a significant time jump between their breakup and their reunion. That being said, I do think the time away was necessary here because they needed to work on themselves.
IF YOU LIKE TRAVEL ROMANCES, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU Alright, time for me to wrap up this review. I didn’t even get a chance to talk about all the traveling and how good it felt to visit all these destinations on the cruise stops from the safety of my bed. You’ll just have to trust me when I say that they are a lot of fun and provide some great romantic moments – Jubilee even takes Blake on a swoony treasure hunt! Anyways, For Vacation Only was a joyous reading experience and I’m so excited there will be more books in this series!
Thanks to NetGalley for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
When I saw that beautiful cover and read the synopsis, I knew I was going to like this book, so I requested it. What I didn't know, was that I was going to LOVE it. I couldn't stop reading it, which wasn't that good because I didn't want it to end, I was enjoying it so much that I stopped reading it for a couple of days to make it last longer, the moment I started reading again I read all 200 pages that I had left that same day.
This book begins with the humiliation suffered by Blake, a very rich but kind-hearted man who was left at the altar by someone he did not even love. He was getting married out of tradition and because in his world, appearances are everything. Although saddened by his embarrassing situation, he makes the decision to go on his honeymoon cruise anyway, because he feels that he needs time to himself, away from everything and everyone, he wants to escape even for a couple of weeks from the life he leads that has him caged.
On the cruise he meets the most impressive woman he has ever seen, the beautiful and talented Jubilee, who wants to make her dream of being a recognized singer come true, but instead is stuck on this cruise singing every night as a showgirl, knowing that her contract will come to an end at some point and she will have nothing else to do.
But then she meets Blake, and thanks to him, she feels the support she needed to realize how talented she really is, he becomes an important part of her days and, on the other hand, thanks to Jubilee, Blake begins to realize that life is more than fancy parties and superficial people, she becomes his motivation to be better.
The thing is, this cruise will only last 2 weeks, 2 weeks until they have to part and return to their different worlds, especially since Blake's family would never accept someone like Jubilee. They know they can't fall in love, they have to keep what is happening between them casual and light.
I aleady told you, I loved this book very much, it was such a cute fun read, it left me with a smile on my face and knowing that I'll miss Blake and Jubilee very much, they were amazing characters to read. So I recommend this if you want to read a cute love story, if you need something that'll make your heart happy.
This was my first travel type a romance where the setting takes place on a cruise ship. Blake was left at the alter by his fiancee but with encouragement from his friends he goes on their honeymoon cruise alone. There he meets Jubilee and up and coming singer and he's instantly captivated by her. He makes it a point to get to try and get close to her so he can get to know her better and she ends up becoming his fun tour guide at land stops.
Blake was really cute and quirky. He's wealthy but shy and polite and just a squishy cinnamon roll. He's also a bit oblivious about the simple things in life but Jubilee helps him to see a different angle of life. In contrast, Jubilee is very driven and outgoing. She has dreams and goals she's trying to achieve and if she finds love on the way, great. Both have their insecurities but it was cute watching their chemistry grow.
I was middle of the road with my review because there were a lot of communication issues that led to situations that could have been easily solved. Whenever there was even mild conflict, both characters would instantly think and believe the worst. There's even a portion where they go months without speaking to each other that could have been 1000% prevented. This is a very slow burn so if you dive into this just know not very much steamy happens until close to the end.
✨Is there somewhere I can sign up for a hot billionaire like this? Cause damn 🥵 I will sign up for that service immediately✨
As a future wh*re for nerdy men, I had the biggest crush on Clark Kent when I was a kid. And Henry Cavil’s existence just made that crush worse. Now imagine Bruce Wayne’s sexy billionaire vibe combined with Clark Kent’s nerdy wholesomeness, that was the hero. And by god was he in love with the heroine 😍
Tropes: 🥺 nerdy, wholesome, cinnamon roll billionaire hero 🎤sweet, sunshine singer heroine (she gave me so many Eve Brown vibes at times) + she’s a badass Latina 🏖 atmospheric vacation romance on a cruise ❤️ “no one gets me like you” vibes 🥰hero pushes the heroine to achieve her dreams and is her biggest fan (this trope makes me melt 🥺)
Summary: After getting jilted at the altar, Blake goes on his honeymoon alone and befriends Jubilee, a beautiful singer on the cruise ship and their friendship quickly becomes more than that.
This is such a sweet summery, vacation romance with the cutest, most “made for each other” kind of couple. They had fantastic chemistry and were written so realistically.
You know that feeling when you have been hanging out by the beach all day and come home after having a great time? Your skin is warm, your legs ache in the best way, you feel like you're glowing, and you just want to wrap up in a blanket and go to sleep after a nice cool shower. This was the feeling this book gave me. It was so wholesome, romantic, and glowy. It was just what I needed.
And just look at that cover 😍 The publishing industry needs to never stop coming out with beautiful covers like this. It is a perfect embodiment of what this book feels like.
I loved how both were flawed and were in desperate need of development. These two just completed each other. The trope where one MC is the other MC's biggest supporter and constantly pushes them to unlock their full potential makes me absolutely melt. This book was full of that trope. The heroine is a singer on the cruise ship they are on and the hero is constantly pushing her to achieve her dreams.
I could constantly go on about Blake. That man is so in love with Jubilee, it made my heart squeeze. Watching them fall in love with each other with their beautiful vacation destinations as a backdrop was absolutely amazing. I loved getting to travel and experience their romance with them.
I normally don’t like vacation romances because the MCs don’t take the relationship seriously because it’s “just a vacation fling.” That was not the case with the book and I was so thankful for that. Their relationship was so mature and beautiful. They were so supportive and loving, they didn’t let a vacation hold them back from being together 🥰
My only problem with the book was that I felt their conflicts were a little finicky and unnecessary because they did stem from miscommunication. The characters were showing a lot of maturity throughout the book so it was a little uncharacteristic in my opinion. I am not a fan of miscommunication-based conflicts.
If you are looking for a sweet, simple, feel-good, summer read, this is the book for you! Plus you’ll get to support a wonderful debut indie author 🙌🏼 This came out on June 11th. You have to pick this book up right now!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 5 stars | 🌶🌶/ 5 steam
Thank you to NetGalley, Victory Editing, and Mila Nicks for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Set within a fourteen-day, luxurious Mediterranean cruise, this story was a lovely escape—A mini vacation in book form!
After being left at the altar, billionaire Blake abandons his typically followed rules and decides to continue his honeymoon solo. With his Clark Kent appearance and pure heart, Blake was the perfect catch!
As his path crosses with the onboard singer, Jubilee, these two opposites begin a romantic adventure touring beautiful landmarks. With a family always making her feel inadequate in her career, I loved the storyline of Jubilee attempting to reinvent herself. Alongside Blake who continually encourages Jubilee to follow her dreams, they were absolutely sweet together.
Considering they were both fresh from a breakup, the timeline felt really short for the intensity of their developing love and ability to move on. Overall, though, this was a really cute romance and I’m happy to see there will be a book two!
This was a really sweet romance that’s perfect for summer taking place on a cruise ship. It did make me want to travel again, especially in the Mediterranean.
The book starts with Blake getting left at the altar, after which he decides to go on the honeymoon by himself. He ends up on a Mediterranean cruise, where he meets Jubilee, a singer/entertainer on the ship. The first thing that made me want to read this book was the cover. It’s so gorgeous that I immediately requested on Netgalley when I saw it there. Then I read the synopsis and I got such good and summery vibes from it, so I had to read it immediately.
I really liked both of the main characters. They have their issues but seem to work well together despite them. Jubilee has ambitions to become a well-known singer, she’s very passionate and ambitious. I liked how Blake immediately became her number one fan and supported her immediately. Also he’s such a nice and soft person, whose also very awkward at times. He’s very different from other billionaire characters in romance, who tend to be very overpowering. The characters had chemistry and the relationship felt very real. I liked the setting of this book a lot.
Sometimes I don’t even pay that much attention to the settings of romances, but both the cruise ship and the cities were great places and the descriptions were so fun in this book. The reason this didn’t get a higher rating was that I felt that the development of the relationship felt a little rushed. It may be because they knew each other for 2 weeks, and then they had a months long break from any contact at the end before reconciling.
I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a cure, sweet, summery romance.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with an arc.
I can’t lie, I wanted to read this for the cover. I knew this would be a feel-good, easy, and cliché summer read. And it made the perfect story for the sunshine. I have only read one of Nicks’ books before, Love’s Recipe, and the romance aspect is what earned the stars. For Vacation Only is no different, it’s not too deep, and the love story is really the best part.
The characters are sweet and lovable, and their personalities surprised me. Blake, who has lived in the lap of luxury since birth is timid and modest. While Jubilee, who fights for every opportunity to be on the stage, is bold and assertive. I love the contrast between them, and it really contributes to the bubbly and exciting dynamic in the book.
I wasn’t a fan of the miscommunication during the inevitable conflict, but did appreciate the resolution and conclusion. There’s quite a bit of reputation, such as the descriptions of Jubilee’s “lavender curls” and the fact that Blake looks like “Clark Kent”, which did feel overused. But as a whole, I really enjoyed this book!
This was a fun getaway read! I really felt like I was exploring the various European cities with Blake and Jubliee, it was escapism at its finest! While I am not a fan of family issues in books, the ones presented here felt realistic and fitting, so I can’t complain.
Similarly, Jubilee and Blake felt like real people, with genuine responses to the challenges they faced and how they lived life. It was so amazing to watch them grow together and become better people because of it. They are also both genuinely likeable characters on their own, with Jubilee as this quirky, free-spirit who shines so bright and Blake as a true Clark Kent with the good looks and a dash of awkwardness and bashfulness to spare.
Their romance did feel a bit like insta-love, but in a truly well done way that I could still enjoy, especially because they truly did strangers to lovers well. Overall it was a fun summer read and has me thinking about new colors I should dye my hair and places I should add to my travel bucket list!
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Mila Nicks was on my “New to You Author” self-challenge for the month of May and I love the way she writes and the humor she brings to her books. I really enjoyed her Black Witch Magic (I still need to read the second book in that paranormal romance series) and was excited she wanted ARC readers for this book. I’m really happy I applied to read it because I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was really fun and really sweet. This book will make you want to travel and make you hungry, thinking of eating ALL of the things when you travel. It’s the perfect read to start off your summer.
I loved sweet and sassy Jubilee and seeing her confidence grow more and more throughout the book. If I ever need a tour guide on vacation, I’d want someone like Jubilee to show me around because she’s fun and knows where all the good food is, in addition to her wealth of knowledge.
If you like ooey gooey cinnamon rolls, like I do, Blake is for you! You’re going to love him and think his ex was cray cray for jilting him at the alter. Blake deserves a spot on Book Boyfriend Island, for sure. They’re very sweet together, but there’s definite chemistry and steam, which I love.
The only thing I have to complain about was a bit on the pacing near the end. The main conflict happens around 70%, so there’s plenty of time for them to sort stuff out, but once they do, there’s a secondary conflict that felt a bit unrealistic and then the main conflict was tied up really quickly. Thankfully we get a bit more in the epilogue.
Overall, I loved that the heart of the book is acceptance and that’s something I think we all can relate to.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, For Abroad Only.
I was provided an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. 4 1/2 Stars.
Blake is an heir to a large fortune and is set to marry an heiress. However, the day before their wedding, she's leaves him at the alter. This leaves Blake with a 2 week luxury cruise all to himself.
Jubilee is a talented singer on the cruise that Blake is set to relax on. These two meet the night she performs her solo and they form an instant connection. As Jubliee has been on apart of this cruise line for quite awhile, she agrees to be Blake's tour guide for his 2 week trip.
Overall this was a really cute breezy read. The setting is so fun. We get to read about them visiting some of my dream destinations in the Mediterranean.
My only complaint is that it was missing some kind of spark. Their chemistry seemed rushed at times and the dialog was a bit cringey.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC!
My thanks to Netgalley, Victory Editing Co-Op and Mila Nicks for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book literally ticked all my boxes - >> a talented woman of color slowly coming into her own >> jilted at the alter >> "Clark Kent but even sweeter" male lead >> cruise ship shenanigans >> vacation romance with sightseeing galore I like that although Blake comes with all the trappings of a romance novel billionaire (because he is, in fact, a billionaire in a romance novel), he is also a bit fumbly and shy and figuring things out for himself. Jubilee is just lovely and you're immediately on her side the moment you meet her. If it was a bit more steamy, this would have been an automatic five star read but even with the steam dialed down, this was exactly what I needed to read right now with the world going up in flames.
This book was such a nice read. Through this story, you not only fall in love with with two amazing characters, but you get to travel to a completely different part of the world and explore it through the eyes of these characters.
Blake and Jubilee are realistic characters with whom I could connect a lot. Their relationship development was really well-written. I loved how Blake is soft and shy and he always blushes around Jubilee. And Jubilee is such an unique character. She's a strong woman of colour who is passionate, driven and has a beautiful voice.
I had a lot of fun reading this book. I always love a good vacation romance book.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
In the end, this wasn’t for me. It got a bit over the top in the last few chapters and too easily resolved. There are challenging differences between Blake and Jubilee that never felt fully addressed. They never seemed to hit their stride communication-wise either.
♡I absolutely adored this book. Thank you so much Mila Nicks for this arc!!!!♡
The setting of this book was perfect. On a cruise ship for two weeks, exploring different destinations while eating food. Thats absolutely perfect.
Jubilee is a cruise ship singer with stage fright. She only performs covers of songs but dreams of the day she gets a record deal to sing and write her own music. She constantly compares herself to her more successful older sister but she refuses to give up.
Blake comes from a multimillion dollar lifestyle. He's destined to inherent his fathers company. He's only ever known the millionaire lifestyle and went to Ivy League schools. However, he's a dorky character, unlike most rich men, his not an asshole with confidence. He's adorable and stumbles over his words around Jubilee.
I loved how Blake becomes addicted to Jubilee. She's unlike anyone hes ever been with. She brings out a different side of him. His life was dull but Jubliee brings sunshine to his world. Jubilee is used to douchey men who are stuck up and conceded, who are so obsessed with themselves and tune her out. But Blake listens to Jubilee as she gushes about the history of their locations, she becomes his tour guide and loves every moment of it. He even helps her gain her confidence to perform.
I loved this so much. It wasn't too cheesy for me, the ending was adorable too. This is my third book by Mila Nicks and definitely a favorite.
I needed something light and fun to balance out the other books I'm reading right now, and this is just that.
Nerdy adorable billionaire Blake meets sunshine filled with life Jubilee. And what do you get? A lot of fun and a beautiful vacation romance with atmospheric stops. That will make you miss going on vacation more than ever! Where will I find my Blake? So so precious, nerdy, cute, awkward at times, but also sexy! I got all the fuzzy feelings because of him and the way he felt about Jubilee. It was just so cute! Jubilee reminds me a lot of Eve Brown. A force of nature. Full of life and spirit but plagued by doubt. She is trying to get her life together and proceed with her dreams, but plans seem to go awry a lot.
Their dynamic was cute, but there were a lot of instances of miscommunication that I didint love. And the romance felt a little bit rushed. I needed a little bit more of a build-up to be more invested.
Either way, I still really enjoyed it. Fun and quick and travelled without moving!
I want just more Jubliee and Blake. They were a cute couple. Love the whole thing.
I've just learned the meaning of the word cinnamon roll.and I am certain Blake fits that description.
He is such as genuine person who's never reached out of his bubble. Never tried anything different until being left at the altar rocked his world.
Jubilee is trying her hardest to believe in herself as a singer and individual
Blake and Jubilee start to become friends then more and it's exactly what I want to see.
The big questions are: Can they make it in the real world? .They came from different backgrounds. They live such different lives beyond the cruise. Of course, as every romance should end, there is a happy ending. Loved the whole thing and I just want to read more about them. They are my relationship goals for sure.
Blake, the male protagonist, is everything I would have loved on a good day—beefy, gentle, and a gazillionaire. Sadly, I didn't even like him. He read as a young-ish adult and that didn't work for me. I'm sure a case can be made for his nervousness and how feeling he got in some scenes, but, as I said—not working.
I could never connect to Jubilee and her chapters were... bland. She was annoying in some scenes and I felt that she protected a lot of her negative feelings onto Blake. I did enjoy the writing style and will definitely be picking up something by this author in the future.
I liked that this book had the MALE lead as the one jilted at the alter and I enjoyed the leads being from different worlds, but I just felt no chemistry between Jubilee and Blake. I wanted to love them together, since they were each likable characters as individuals, but I was missing the spark between them.
I received a gifted copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.
The getaway romance we’re ALL craving after these crazy times!
I love books that take me to places I have never been, and this book was like a private tour wrapped up in a sweet and swoony romance!
Blake and Jubilee gave me all the feels and their adventure was heartwarming and wholesome from the intriguing and exciting meet-cute to the beautiful hapoy ending!
I love a free-spirited badass Latina! Jubilee was the perfect example. I loved her passion and how much she wanted to honor her creative voice, even when she was scared or feeling nervous. She was brave and wanted to live her life the way she dreamed about it, not how everyone else wanted her to. I loved to see her coming out of her doubts and learning about her worth, not only as an artist but as a woman who deserved to be the first choice. She was smart, resilient and talented, she deserved someone like Blake next to her who could appreciate her entirely.
Blake was a dreamboat 😍he was so simple, humble and kind. It broke my heart to see him so lonely at the beginning, but warmed my heart to see him trying to make the best of the situation. I loved the way he looked at Jubilee, she was like the sunshine after his storm, the joy he didn’t know he needed or deserved. I enjoyed seeing him learning so much from her and discovering a side of life he didn’t know it existed. I absolutely loved the friendships he made with the cruise staff, he was so sweet to everyone and just a wonderful human being!
“You help me loosen up. I help you not to dim your light.”😭😍
The story kept me flipping the pages. They visited the most romantic destinations, in each place, they fell in love with each other a little bit more. They learned together and grew up together in such short amount of time. The way they became to need one another was extremely sweet and even though they were so different, they were the perfect couple.
This book was swoony and sexy. The perfect vacation and a true love story about living your life to the fullest, follow your dreams and living up to your own expectations.
Thank you so much to Mila Nicks for gifting me this ARC! I will always be your fan! 💕
Mila Nicks is a new author to me and I’m surprised I haven’t come across her before. For Vacation Only was a well written story that ticked a lot of boxes for me. When I read the blurb for this one I couldn’t wait to read it. Recovering from the humiliation of being left at the altar, Blake Mulligan, instead of going into hiding, sets off on his honeymoon cruise, alone. He isn’t looking for another relationship so imagine his shock at his feelings when he meets Jubilee Collazo
Jubilee loves to travel, so working on the cruise ship satisfies her wanderlust. When she offer to act as a tour guide for Blake she has no idea how their lives are about to change. These two couldn’t be more different and yet they are well suited and you could feel the attraction build as they explored the sites. However since their lives are on opposite sides of the world, a future together isn’t on the cards and both are aware the last thing they should do is fall in love.
Blake gives Jubilee the support and encouragement she needs to take her career to the next level. Will these two finally get the happily ever after that they both deserve?
I enjoyed this book and found myself smiling throughout. This was a fun, quirky story that will draw you in and keep you hooked from the first to the last chapter.
Blake Mulligan son of Bernard Mulligan a billionaire and successful man. Engaged and soon-to-be-married only to be left at the altar. He was always the responsible man with plans made up for everything. He never threw caution to the wind Always sane and reasonable but after what happened he decided that it is time to be carefree and spontaneous. Therefore, he gets on The Seven Seas Diamond ship for a luxury Mediterranean Cruise and that is when his solo honeymoon starts.
Jubille is a singer and performer on the ship from a middle-class family. Recently dumped by her boyfriend and is feeling miserable and sad about her life and career.
One night and one performance leave Blake starstruck by Jubilee and now the only he wants is to know who is this woman.
What starts as a friendship turned into a passionate romance in the cities of Europe. Dancing, singing, sightseeing, eating, and exploring together they gather moments and memories that make them question every love and every moment before in their lives.
I loved this book so much A true gem It is the perfect read to get you out of a reading slump fast-paced, funny, and romantic. It made me long to go on a cruise like this and explore places and food. It also made me miss Summer so much, no words to describe how good it is you just have to read and find out. Xoxo
It was exactly what I needed after a heavy read. It was balm to my poor little soul. A fun well written vacation romance with a sweet hero, spunky heroine and tons of cool stops on the cruise! Can I gush about the characters for a bit? Jubilee was such a great heroine! I loved from the first page. Her quirky sense of humor and thirst for adventure made me want to be friends with her so bad. I absolutely identified with her struggle with confidence and coming into her own. It was very relatable that she dubted herself so much and always felt second best. Who hasn't felt that way at least once in their life?
And Blake! i just wanted to wrap him up in a blanket and give him some hot cocoa, he was such a sweetheart! I just realized i love the trope of rich billionaire but awkward Clark Kent combo. Every time he stuttered on his words or fretted over Jubilee saying yes to him, I swooned a little bit. I just love their relationship and how they built each other up. Definitely a pairing you wouldn't expect to work but somehow Mila Nicks did a great job balancing them out and keeping to their characterizations. Even when things hit a snag between them and they went their separate ways it still felt very true to the characters we had come to learn.
one perplexing thing about this book is that it felt both fast and slow pacing wise. Blake and jubilee didn't feel rushed but at the same time they do fall for each other over the course of the cruise. It was handled so carefully though that I can't even call it instalove. Overall, love this book and the perfect fun read with a sweet romance!
