Demented Sons MC #1

Colton's Salvation

Rate this book
Colton Alcott was a soldier with no family. The Army was not just his career; it was his life and the only thing he felt he needed. When he agreed to go home with his battle-buddy prior to deploying to Afghanistan, he had no idea that a single night with a woman he intended to be a one-night stand would become his beacon in the night. When his career is unexpectedly cut short and his inner demons threaten to consume him, he finds the comradery and brotherhood he thought he had lost with the Demented Sons Motorcycle Club.
Stephanie Quinn was focused on her college graduation and the beginning of her culinary dreams. When her best friend, and roommate, dragged her to the big end-of-the-year party, she planned to hang out for a little while and then head home. Alone. What she didn’t anticipate was that the blue-eyed stranger she brought home would leave her with an unexpected surprise. A surprise destined to change both of their lives.
Can two star-crossed lovers overcome the obstacles of fate and find one another in the vast ocean of life? Colton’s Salvation is a story of love lost, second chances, and the unforeseen salvation of a single tormented soul by an unexpected, but precious, gift.

This is the 3rd book of DNF's in the last week.

Started out well but then the hero and heroine end up being separated for two years and he turns into the typical manwhore biker while she stays celibate. She is sort of dating a guy but of course he turns out to be a psycho (why would we expect anything different?!)...

I'm over this type of storyline!

Triggers are sexual assault and violence on page against the h by the villain and possibly she was raped but it was vague I'm choosing to believe she wasn't.

It was free and it is an author's first effort and I respect her and appreciate her hard work.

I don't even mind tropes when I'm enthralled by the story but there were too many cliches and eye rolls and while I did like the MCs he was not alpha at all and she made cliche'd damsel in distress decisions.

One night stand with unprotected sex resulting in pregnancy. He never even gets her name and she only knows his first name. He leaves his a note and his phone number but then decides to throw the note out because he is being deployed.

He leaves is injured falls into drunken ptst oblivion until his best friend whose prospecting for an MC rescues him and gets him involved with the club. She meanwhile has her baby girl and is starting her restaurant career in a different town.

She wasn't with anyone else, he was. No cheating after getting back together.

Cartoonish villain you can see coming a mile away.

Silly decisions to not share information, to keep feelings to themselves.

Waffling both of them, back and forth even after it's obvious the other person wants to be with you. Gives me whiplash.

Her deciding to ignore and not see him after her attack and he rescued her. Him letting her stay away for 3 weeks.

It was all just too much. I was kind of interested in Mason's story but Becca isn't appealing to me and some reviews talk about her being tstl in her behavior so I'm going to pass.

I'm sorry to leave a negative review, I really wanted to love the book. I'm not sorry I read it and enjoyed elements of it but I won't be continuing the series.

OMG! I loved this book, it was a little different from any book I have read before and the character development was amazing.
Colton and Steph meet one night at a party and have a one night stand. Neither really share much details of their lives and Colton goes off to war and Steph realises she is pregnant and it is only through circumstances a few years later that they both meet up again as very different people (you're going to have to read the book to get more of the story because if I tell you I am going to spoil the amazingness of this book for you!
Obviously Colton comes back from war changed and things happen to Steph which changes her, but their strength and determination to make their relationship work is amazing and commendable.
There are a few points in this book which may have triggers for people, so check before you read or ask another reviewer to see if these may be triggers for you.
This book has sexy scenes (hot!), suspense, action and a huge dosage of love. If you're not reading Kristine Allen books, then you are definitely missing out. I have the next book in the series in my shopping cart ready to buy! Amazing!

Conflicted

I wanted to say I like this story or it held merit but I can’t for several reasons. There was so much cursing more than there was dialogue. The was a lot of repetition that if some of the repetitive phrases were taken off the book would’ve been shorter. And if you’ve been away from each other for years it would’ve made sense to smooth then into a relationship rather lighting a firework and waiting for their magical romantic explosion. And lastly this may trigger some but you have the heroine kidnapped by a psycho ex why not write that she’s found by the hero sooner and not allow her to be sexually assaulted like it didn’t help the book read better. Then it leaves with who the child’s father after she falls pregnant again. Just a lot of unknowns and you get the sense the author is giving too many stories in one.

This is the first book I read by this author. I haven't read very many MC romances, but this one I enjoyed.

I really enjoyed reading it and cursed her in the beginning for dragging out the characters meeting again so long. I was like... it's going to happen now... nope... damn her... how about now... nope... dang it. (You get the picture) There were a few parts that felt a tad rushed, but overall I enjoyed the book and the writer's writing style. I think she portrayed the way veterans feel after the war very accurately, and the emotions that war brings to soldiers.

Solid 4 stars for me.

Omg

So, I read this purely because my cousin wrote it. But. Goodness. I couldn't put it down. I stayed up until almost day break until I found a spot that I felt comfortable enough to put it down for a few hours of sleep. Then picked it right back up again when I woke up. I couldn't stop. I may have yelled at Kristine a few times. Mostly into my empty house. And a few times on Facebook. I dont normally write reviews. But this one deserves it. I would give it 20 stars of I could. And that's not being biased. I've never had so many emotions go through me while reading a book. I honestly think my heart stopped a few times. This is a must read!

I liked the idea of this story but I didn't love the writing style. It felt very clunky. A lot of telling and coincidence that made it seem longer than it was and yet didn't feel like it said as much as it should have. The book is very predictable, the H and h are both TSTL with letting her go back to her apartment by herself and the sex scenes are so long, I ended up skimming them.

I'm on the fence about going onto the next book.

Hot

I really liked Colton and he really is a great hero. He admitted when he was wrong and explained his feelings. I thought for his character that was a good start. Steph was endearing and I fell in love with her because of her nature. She was kind and helpful plus very compassionate. Overall it was a good story and a good start to the series.

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. You will not be disappointed with the two main characters.

They were absolutely fabulous and so much in love. I don't want to say anymore because I'm afraid I'll spoil the plot for you. But please trust me, this mc romance is like no other that I have ever read.

Loved it

Loved it, the characters, the storyline. Wished the MC aspect was more...ie Stephanie and remi being more involved with the family aspect of an MC.

I am giving this book 4 stars. I really did enjoy it but I really could have done without what happened to Stephanie at the end of the book. It seemed unnecessary and a lot like overkill to me. Still a good read and I will continue with this series.

What started out as a military book quickly became an MC book.

Stephanie and Colton met during her final year of college at a party they were both dragged to. And one night together changed everything. Colton went back to Georgia to go back to Afghanistan and Stephanie found her pregnant and alone in Iowa.

But three years later, but happenstance, they meet again. Only, now Colton is known as Reaper. And when he meets the sweet little girl with Stephanie, he misunderstands everything and tries to cut her out of his life, again. But Stephanie won't let him be stubborn again.

But there is Stephanie's past lurking in the shadows and he's not going away. Will Colton be able to save her in time?

Colton and Stephanie get their happy ending in this stand-alone book in a series.

I really enjoyed this motorcycle club book. They were a clean club that ran legitimate businesses and kept their community clean. And it seemed like their one non-"legit" business was a strip club which isn't bad at all. And I loved how even though he just met Stephanie, she was his reason to keep going after his military career ended and while he was away.

Came across this book, and was intrigued when reading what it was about. Being married to a veteran, and working with the military, I just kinda go to military romances and this one did not disappoint. I couldn't put it down. Fell in love with everything about this book. Look forward to reading more books from Kristine. Definitely one of my favorite authors now.

I couldn't Put It Down

A great take on the good girl bad boy love story. Captivating characters and a plot line that keeps the reader on the edge of her seat. I really liked the first person POV for Steph and Reaper.

Loved this book! The characters capture your heart and it's so hard to put it down. Love that the author gives us a peek into the demon known as PTSD. Reading this whole series.
