The untold story of how Authoritarians from the Progressive Era to the present removed all constitutional barriers to the deprivation of individual rights, upending the promise of the Declaration of Independence and inviting a new socialist state in America.
A book that spans at least 500 pages, which covers all sorts of Modern Political Thought among several other outliers in history.
The Authoritarians does an excellent job in pointing out a topic that rather gets ignored a lot in politics. The Administrative State, and how it has become more powerful than members of Congress. Because those committees and agencies will are never checked, how they use and abuse the Internal Court system's to pass their policies even when proven wrong.
The book also goes into how we got here from a deep dive into the Collectivist mindset of those who strive to build a socialist nation under the false flag of "utopia." While at times this book seemed like a general review of things I've read in the past and understand about American and world history, there were times I was caught off guard by the in-depth analysis of subjects, (which I won't spoil here).
A good solid read, and a must have on your bookshelf if you want to have a much better understanding of the system that is the American Government and it's inner workings.
