A distopian novel for our times! This was quite terrifying and disturbing. The consumerism of the internet amplified up to 11. I didn't agree with everything in it but he made some very good points and some very good observations about the problems of society today. Ultimately the ultra rich control way too much. I listened to the audio book version and it was great to hear Geoffrey reading his story.

Even though the author admitted that 1984 was an inspiration for this book, it still felt like a cheap rip off with many same elements. World building felt unnatural, rushed and the world itself turned out to be a hugely exaggerated satire which did not feel real. Finally, the moralizing happy ending did not add anything good to this short story either.

Geoffrey Beevers doing his own 1984 inspired book taking on consumerism. Some of it feels very been there done that. The ending was fine I suppose.
