In a united world where peace flourishes, one land stands in the way of progress... Ahrensburg, ruled by a despotic dragon leader through fear, violence and intimidation. Can a diplomatic delegation reconcile dark with light and bring the whole planet under one umbrella? There’s also the small matter of dragons being taken against their will and forced to do another’s bidding by an unusual species immune to magic. Can the king’s legendary protector combine with a librarian’s out-of-the-box thinking and a stunning golden dragon to beat the odds, thwart the threat and save the day? As new friends face ruthless enemies that have designs on not only their bodies, but their minds as well, will an ancient mantra come to their rescue? Treachery, intrigue and a bare faced lie from an unexpected source lead to gruesome negotiations the likes of which have never been seen before. Will a cold hearted, duplicitous, double-crossing dragon fire the opening salvo in a wicked and unwarranted war, or can virtue and the moral high ground turn things around at the very last moment? Lose yourself in supernatural battles, breathtaking betrayal and see if unusual, ancient magic can save one being’s soul and, just maybe, the future.
Paul Cude is a husband, father, field hockey player and aspiring photographer. Lost without his hockey stick, he can often be found in between writing and chauffeuring children, reading anything from comics to sci-fi, fantasy to thrillers. Too often found chained to his computer, it would be little surprise to find him, in his free time, somewhere on the Dorset coastline, chasing over rocks and sand in an effort to capture his wonderful wife and lovely kids with his camera. Paul Cude is also the author of The White Dragon Saga.
I saw so many parallels with this story and my life since 2011. At moments i could find comfort in knowing it wasnt a real story. But replace the Dragons and its very real. This story was engrossing and I felt each characters pain. I shared the hopes of a world where everyone lived in peace and had all they desired. Its a bitter sweet story and if there are others i want to read them too. For'son was a hero that i could relate to...one of selfless sacrifice. Thank you for introducing him to my reading world.

This entire series has been heart wrenching and sometimes amazingly joyful, but always full of adventure. My only dislike was the gory description of the outbreak in the negotiating-very graphic, but made me want to pick up a sword and join the story. Knowing there are good dragons willing to do everything they can to help those in need is an important idea for people of any age or station in life. Even though this is a novel, not a memoir or documentary, words have power. They ignite our natural tendencies into some type of action, hopefully on the good side of the fight. Great read. Please, enjoy.
A story of the endless battle between good and evil. This time the story is told by dragons, but it is easy to imagine them as humans. A powerful and intelligent dragon is the lead. Well told from his point of view, and that of his friends. Unfortunately a sad ending to the book.
A Selfless Sacrifice (The White Dragon Saga) my seventh read from author Paul Cude. A wonderful 224-page read that reads even longer due to the attention to detail written in, backfilling information to enrich the series. I have to say I like to read a series in order and as I read this series I'm discovering there are many shorter works filling in here and there, I'd love to know the actual reading order for all these book. I received a free Kindle copy of this book, and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I'll definitely be reading more from this author. Evil Endeavours (The White Dragon Saga Book 6) is next on my TBR list, unless I find A Right Royal RumpASS first. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.
Obviously from the title, this story contains a lot of tragedy and unpleasant topics. It does have a happy, if bittersweet, ending. My only complaint about this story is that the point of view jumps around a lot and I often had to back up to reread paragraphs to be sure of whose point of view I was reading. The setting of a prehistoric earth where dragons were the predominant 'people' is an interesting one.
Wasn't sure about the book when I started it but so glady I kept reading. After checking for other books by this author I've just downloaded book 1 of the White Dragon Saga- enter George the dragon slayer -well he did kill a dragon but that seems to be the least of his talents. Can't wait to find out where this story goes.
An amazing story of dragons being held against their will. Fantasy to keep you wanting more. How will their land be saved from this heartless leader. First time author for me but not the last.
