This is a really interesting take on an enemies to lovers/mafia connection romance. It hooked me right from the start with how emotional the characters are. The story is suspenseful, filled with angst, lots of emotional turmoil and a budding new romance between two amazing characters.
Chantelle is a smart young woman, who has struggled to get where she is at and has a past that still haunts her everyday. She is striving to make ends meet while saving every penny so that she can make her life and her sisters life better. Sam enters her life throwing everything up in the air. He's exactly what she doesn't want in her life right now. Sam's the high school bad boy bully with mob ties. But he is also smart, sweet and sexy. Chantelle just has to get him to open up a little so that he can let his guard down. When these two interact the push and pull for power between them makes for a very entertaining story. They both had me laughing at times and hoping that things work out between them even though they come from two different worlds.
Great writing with amazing characters and a storyline that keeps you captivated with all the little twists that get thrown in throughout. I highly enjoyed it and look forward to more stories by this author.

Sam really pushes Chantelle's buttons at the start of the story. They try hard to hate each other but feelings start to grow.
Chantelle knows Sam is from a mafia family, so is wary, but nothing deters her when she gets to know the real Sam. The Sam that really doesn't want to follow in his fathers footsteps.
But as we all know, getting out of the mafia alive isn't an option.
I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers, mafia story and it was really well written!
After their mother and father deserted them, Chantelle and her sister Lacey went to live in a foster home with a single dad and his son. Things are finally working out for the two girls. When she earns a scholarship to a private school for rich kids, Chantelle studies hard and tries to ignore the snide comments. Sam. the son of a mobster, wants nothing to do with a mob life but does not know what to do about it. Then Sam and Chantelle are partnered for a school project. This story has violence, death, romance, plus a tiny bit of heat and ends in what looks like a cliffhanger. Highly recommended.
Chantelle has worked her but of the get where she is took look after her sister. When bad boy Sam comes into her life it send her for a spin, but they both have a past can they get a future together. This is well written woth an engaging story that's nicely paced and well thought out.
