“I’m on my own in the APC, there’s no driver, and I can’t move anywhere, I’m just firing. The gun keeps jamming. The turret too. It’s rusty and I’m getting all worked up because I’ve got to give my wife a ride to the bus stop, so she’s not late for work. But I can’t leave my post. How can I abandon the post? Doc, you know about dreams. What do you think that means?” ...
“It means you don’t want to kill people. That’s why you’re dreaming that the turret is jamming. All soldiers have the same dream. That their gun has jammed or that they shoot, but keep missing their target, and so on. It means you’re still a human being.”
