Premise: The MC is an ordinary book store shopkeeper who has an inconvenient ability to see ghosts. The MC hates this strange ability but then one day he meets another guy who also has supernatural power. The guy runs a small business of 'problem solving' and he strongly invites the MC to join him, claiming: 'It's destiny that we met'...

The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window is one of the best yaoi manga series I've encountered in the past few years!!!! Plus in this vol. 2, the author surprises me with a nice little plot twist. The seme guy is totally creepy in a nice way and he did something really creepy and scary to the uke by trickery!!! OMFG how will things go from here!!?????

Plus, this mysterious curse-worker character who causally curses people to death but she is only a highschool girl!!! OMFG I'm loving it! Not to mention this fortune teller guy and the hard boiled police!!!!

PS: I'm referring the two main characters as seme and uke because I'm damn lazy, though the MCs do not follow the typical aggressive/passive stereotypes in tother standardized yaoi manga.

Ever since I've seen the movie, I can't stop thinking about this story. And in this volume, we go deeper into why every psychic wants Mikado. Fascinating stuff. Right up my alley!

Vol. 1 ★★★☆☆

This volume is a bit stagnant. Although it introduces the remaining players of the story and explores Hiyakawa's obsession with Mikado, the plot isn't moving forward. That said, Tomoko Yamashita has clearly put a lot of thought into ways she can capture the paranormal in a black-and-white visual format, whether it's through upside down speech bubbles, frantic scribbles, or overlapping text.

Die Geschichte bleibt weiterhin spannend und sehr mysteriös. Ich muss aber auch sagen, dass sich die Übersetzung für mich (auch aufgrund der Wortwahl hier und da) etwas holprig anfühlt, was mich manchmal aus der Geschichte gerissen hat.

Nach wie vor, finde ich das Grundkonzept der Geschichte interessant. Allerdings komme ich nach wie vor nicht mit den Geister-Gestalten zurecht.

Irgendwie fehlte mir in diesem Band das Gefühl einer Chemie zwischen den Charakteren. Das lag daran, dass mir Hiyakawa weniger sympathisch und zudem suspekt war.

In der Rezension zu Bd. 1 sagte ich noch, dass ich die spezielle Wortwahl beim Exorzismus und die daraus entstehenden Reibungen ganz interessant finde, weil sie sexual vibes geben. Allerdings empfand ich das in Bd. 2 als gar nicht erotisch oder anziehend sondern eher störend.

Insgesamt muss ich sagen, egal wie spannend ich dieses Grundkonzept finde, brauchte ich ewig zum Lesen und habe ständig vor geblättert. Ich glaube diese Reihe ist leider nichts für mich, da die Charaktere zudem unnahbar sind, wodurch ich eine große Distanz beim Lesen empfinde.

Obwohl mich der Cliffhanger doch neugierig gemacht hat, werde ich diese Reihe wahrscheinlich nicht weiterlesen.

Me ha gustado mucho más que el anterior. Mikado ya se ha acostumbrado a trabajar con Hiyakawa, lo sigue pasando mal con los fantasmas y sigue sin enterarse de la mitad de lo que pasa. Cómo lector solo tenemos la información que tiene Mikado así que tampoco acabas de pillar lo que está pasando.
Me gusta mucho cómo la autora ha construído esta historia de fantasmas y exorcistas y tengo muchas ganas de ver cómo van encajando todas las piezas.

Continuano le avventure paranormali del medium Hiyakawa e del libraio Mikado che vede fantasmi e spiriti e per questo collabora con quell'uomo stravagante... Ma con l'introduzione della pericolosa Erika, vediamo come il mondo dei fantasmi sia pericoloso e pieno di misteri. Bisogna stare attenti a quei poteri oscuri che continuano a spaventare Mikado anche se piano piano cerca di abituarsi e aiutare persone e spiriti... Un volume che mi ha preso maggiormente nella seconda metà, forse l'ho letto anche in un momento non proprio giusto. Lo dovrò leggere di nuovo con calma, magari quando avrò già il terzo volume di questa serie che in ogni caso mi intriga, presenta elementi interessanti che allora voglio vedere come procede e si svilupperà la storia. Le tome 2 est identique au précédent dans sa trame. Chaque chapitre on a une enquête différente. J’aime bien l’ambiguïté qu’il y a autour des deux héros, avec l’attitude de Hiyakawa envers Mikado qui reste mystérieuse.

J’avoue avoir encore du mal à comprendre où veut en venir la mangaka dans son scénario et ses personnages. Mais tout l’aspect paranormal autour me fascine assez pour avoir envie de découvrir la suite et l’arrivée de plusieurs personnages rehausse un peu plus l’intérêt de la série.

Pensé que el asunto de Erika Hiuga llevaría más tiempo, pero no, fue rápida la muchacha en contactarlos. Lo cual me dice que ella no es el enemigo final.

Por otro lado, qué posesivo es el Hiyakawa, caray, será porque el don de Mikado es muy raro, pero exagera este compa, hasta amarre le hizo.

Me gusta muchísimo el tono de la historia a pesar de que su ritmo es lento.

Erika sigue siendo un misterio, pero poco a poco se está revelando.
Hiyakawa es muy posesivo, así que no me termina de gustar esa relación.
Mikado igual deja que cualquiera le meta mano y eso ya me está poniendo de los nervios hasta a mi.

This continues to be a pretty intriguing series, even if this volume doesn't advance the plot that much. Erika becomes a pretty important character in the show so I assume she will be in this and she's great. Overall the vibes are just creepy and toxic and weird in this and I like it.

Ammetto che in questo volume c'è un po' troppa confusione. Le scene non sono per nulla linearo, e immagino che dipende da qualche trip mentale.
Pian pian i personaggi si stanno aprendo a noi, i cattivi non sembrano poi così cattivi e i buoni sono borderline xD

Sigo confundida pero me está enganchando. Las subtramas me intrigan y los casos que van resolviendo son bastante peculiares. Es diferente y eso que he leído mangas del estilo. Los secundarios son un punto fuerte.
