Persistence by P.S. Winn is a heartwarming family drama set in a speculative fiction subgenre that makes it both poignant and socially relevant to readers of all ages. Abigail Hartman is a young woman living in the small town of Newburg, Montana in the year 2060. The world remains in a perpetual pandemic as COSARS-60 is the latest mutation to traumatize the planet. Abby's parents fall victim to the plague, causing Reverend Barry Daniels to suggest Ethan Mackey as a guardian. Together with his partner Karla Sorenburg, they bring Abby to his country homestead where they plan to weather the virological storm. Only Ethan becomes a casualty, and the new family's struggle is a touching and inspiring tale well worth the read.

The renowned Montana indie lit author brings her authentic style to this engrossing story. We find ourselves mesmerized by the rustic backdrop and the emotional relationships between the characters, yet fully aware of the harrowing crisis facing the protagonists. The urgency of finding the best medical care in a rural area creates conflict, as does the life-threatening nature of the virus. Audiences will be able to relate to this memorable and compelling novel that you won't want to miss.

What a great book that delves into PTSD. Who knows how we will deal with tragedy in its many forms. It appears this author does.

So much tragedy has hit our world. I like the author's look at the future and what it may hold. I think if people think this virus we are facing is the last, they are naive. What we can learn is how to fix the problem of viruses and deaths by coming together. This book tells us how we could do that in a futuristic look at what could happen.

With Covid fading in people's minds, this book looks at what would happen if the virus becomes something we will always live with. The author looks at how families will be different because it isn't blood that connects people, it is the love in our hearts.

Everyone reacts to things differently. Three friends are finding that out. This is the story of how something that happens, even years in the past can disrupt and change perceptions. The story is heart-touching at times, gut-wrenching at times, and a look at life through the eyes of those whose perceptions were forever changed.
