Cold case murder investigations are a lot harder to solve than current murder cases. Particularly when the murder occurred over fifteen years ago. But when a friend asks Brigid to investigate a cold case for her in New Mexico, Brigid feels she has to at least try. What she hadn’t taken into consideration Were old grudges, A small town that kept secrets, And people who were willing to commit hate crimes to keep those secrets.
Join Brigid and Jett, her 125-pound Newfoundland dog, as they try to find the long-ago killer. But not so long ago that the threat of her discovering the identity of the killer makes her a present-day target.
Dogs, recipes, and page-turning action all come together in Murder in New Mexico, the 15th book in the Cottonwood Springs Cozy Mystery Series by a USA Today Bestselling Author.
I liked this book, it is a nice easy listen that is clean, with no graphic violence or swearing. Does have a serious side but is cleverly wrapped up in an interesting investigation. This time Brigid is going it alone with just her dog, Jett to help her, which makes this book slightly different to what I have come to expect from this author and it was also nice to see her tackle a cold case. The rest of the characters or should I say family from this series might not have been there but it is still as entertaining as normal with a new set of great characters. The mystery was interesting and I didn't the end coming. Liz and her dog Jett pack up there car and go on a road trip to help a friend solve a fifteen year old cold case. Her brother's boy friend was murdered and with the police bungling the case, she would like Liz to have a look. This is going to be a difficult case from the start, with no crime scene to investigate and witnesses memories fading over time but when she gets there is seems that not even the victims father wants the case solved and the town is determined to keep hold of there secrets. Can Liz break down the wall of silence surrounding the death to find the killer? Or will The killer find her? I really liked the narrator and have listened to a few books read by her and have found them all to be an enjoyable and entertaining listen. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
a different location than usual. Brigid goes on a trip to solve a cold case in New Mexico. Dianne always writes easy to follow stories that I really enjoy. The characters are easy to keep track of and I love seeing how we follow all their stories. I have one book left in this series and I will be so sad to see these characters put aside until Dianne comes up with a new one. I listened to this one on audible. The narration was good and easy to follow at 2.5x.
I liked this book because it had several twists i n the plot. Each book gets better.I rated st 5 stars to recommend highly . I want to spread the word about this series.working in a new location with differnt law enforcment and trying to solve a cold case made for good reading.
I have enjoyed this series. Don't know if this is the end or not. Recommend this series, all stories could be stand-alones but they are better if read in order. This was the only one I figured out who the killer was before the end.
Bridgit decides to help a friend solve a 15 year old cold case. Normally she helps the sheriff much closer to home. For this trip she took Jett for company and protection.
At first she was stumbling along not getting anywhere-it was a cold case. She finally began to find things out and ended up calling the sheriff of the town she was from for help! This was way above her pay grade!!
Lots of twists and turns and as always great recipes!

Why does she get the feeling everything was kept hush hush? Brigid soon has the town all riled up when she starts digging into the case to find out the truth. Brigid’s dog Jett is right beside her helping as well. Brigid is always enjoyable in these mysteries. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was easy to listen to.
Written in area of the states that I am familiar with made this story read fast. Brigid was really digging deep into very old clues and came dangerously c!ose to being killed. Now off to another adventure.
