Heretic of the Federation #6

Angel of Armageddon

Rate this book
It all comes down to one final fight for the future of the Federation.

Even without the Morgana in her head, Stephanie’s attitude has become dark indeed.

Now, she has decided the best way to stop a war, is attack.

Unfortunately, the Telorans have not arrived, and will likely miss this battle.

Stephanie considers the cost in lives of those in cryo-storage and is willing to gamble the whole effort to save those who are still sleeping.

Is it the best decision militarily?

Probably not.

But if she didn’t, she wouldn’t be the Witch of the Federation.

It’s the final book, strap yourself in and let’s get started.

End of the series, loved them all wish there was more

As with any well-written series it's a bittersweet ending when you get to the end page of the last book because you come to care about the characters and their story lines and you want them to continue in your mind this was no different. Just like the other books it was a very easy fast and fun read I had really enjoyed witch of the federation and so far all the heretic of the federation series and I was not let down when I hit the last book. Good conclusions to all the characters without giving it away it's definitely worth going through all the books

Loved this series!

This is definitely one of my favorite series by MA. The faceoff with the bad guy when the feed is shown where she received her authority is just perfect when the follow-up is added in! That is Justice B#$ches! The series are awesome and if MA ever revisits these characters, I'll be thrilled to read on!

Which do I like better?

Neither. I love them both! MA asked & he shall receive... The KGU (Kurthurian Gambit Universe) is awesome & I loved reading it & the offshoot series. But Witch of the Federation is just as awesome & as unique. Plus, it has the Heretic series as the add-on after the Witch ended.

It's a draw Mr. Author: Both these series are fantastic. I'll miss the characters, but they have places in our household: WWBAD? WWS/MD? WWJDD?

My way of saying that this book & these series are worth reading.

Stephanie or BA....

You said you hoped to make a series as beloved as the Kurtherian Gambit, etc & I have to say personally as I have finished reading this final 1 & anxiously await the last installment(s?) In the Kurtherian endgame that myself, I've almost been more fond of the witch's adventures than the Queen's(not to belittle Bethany Anne in any way). While I am sad to see the end of these characters,I have a bit more eagerly awaited each stage of their storylines than the others. Possibly just because there have been so many intersecting characters as the stories have chased the Kurtherians across the cosmos that I've almost lost track of 1/2 of who's who between ditching between various stories I follow also, like Skharr,Nath Dragon, the adventures back when of a barbarian Nath met on occasion, plus read of some tales in the Zoo,& now adventures outside it,not to mention the original lvl 6 bounty hunter,& the new stories of another in his line of work,& still trying to read some of the Kurtherian offshoot storylines. (What can I say,I read a LOT) Maybe a bit I did also just find Stephanie's group here a bit more homey in a good way to follow, more personable. But that's all just my humble opinion. Both plots are well worth following imo, either way. Thank you for many entertaining hours of reading.

Great wrap up to a compelling series

When you commit to a series, the decision can be fraught with the possibility of where the author will take it. I have discontinued reading series that took the characters in directions that I felt were unprecedented or were in direct violation of the rules for the world that was originally constructed. As a reader, I feel that those premises can not be altered without clear reasoning and warnings earlier in the series that the rules are about to change.
This last set to the Witch of the Federation series winds down and locks into place the legacy of these characters and the imagining of this world. The author in this series does an excellent job of resolving the loose ends and giving us one last outing with the witch and her hooligans. Bravo

A great ending to an amazing story

First let me say that I’m sad to see the end of Stephanie’s story, she’s become one of my all time favorite characters. Between her and Bethany Ann it’s a hard choice, anytime either characters stories come available I drop the book I’m reading and continue their amazing stories.

A fitting end

Thanks for bringing the series to an end for the the war Witch and her Apostle. The grand scale of the storyline was well done and the final denouement of th the Chancellor and the Regime was sudden and final. Stephanie's final judgements and acts of pardon and mercy resonated throughout the end series and was well done. Kudos to LMPBN for another great story..

Better towards the end

I love this author because he does people and relationships really well. Characters are quirky, delightful, and realistic. With this book, I felt like he dropped the ball.

For the first half of the book, nothing happened. Yeah, they blew up a few space ships and rallied the troops -- Stephanie lost her temper and rushed out without waiting for backup (without consequences), as usual... but in terms of characters, relationships, and interactions nothing happened.

This series started going downhill when it stopped being about John and Ivy. I had to stop reading this series and go read The Witch of the Federation just so I could figure out who everyone was and what was going on. After that, returning to this series, there are just too many characters. There isn't "time" for the quirky interactions I've come to expect (and enjoy), just sketches of things consistent with what characters have done in the past.

If this was the first book I'd read by this author, I wouldn't bother reading more. Yes, he advances the story and brings us a resolution, but to me it is emotionally unsatisfying. I could have read a plot summary and not missed much.

Dear Author, please stop, take a breath, and take a look at what you are doing. Put in the time to add the bits of fun that set your writing apart and the emotion that makes it real. And please, either have cussing or don't. The "aborted", sensored, and/or always PG version of cussing in this series was cute the first 3-5 times it happened, then it started getting annoying. Fast.

This is NOT your best work. Please do better.
Sincerely,
Someone who has read way too many of your books...

Not ready for it to end!

Since the first book about Stephanie, she had reminded me of Bethany Ann! I highly recommend both series to anyone who enjoys reading action packed sci-fi/fantasy that features awesome leading lady, great support characters, and held together with just the right amount of humor! Hoping that there may be some spin-off series like found in the KGU! Have read try through most of this series twice along with listening to the Audible editions that are available. So, while it certainly won't be saying goodbye to the beloved 🤗 characters it is somewhat of a downer 🙁that there aren't more to anticipate.

Thoughts

I can see parallels between the Witch and the story of BA (the Kurtherian Gambit for the possibly one person who does not know). Both are extremely powerful, with loads of attitude, and care deeply about the people they have chosen to protect. Both have fiercely loyal guards who endeavor to protect them. And personal time is very precious. A great read even if it is the supposed end of the series.

Brilliant! Heartfelt Bravery! Morals, Magic, and Mayhem!

I have delightfully devoured the incredible storyline of the entire Witch of the Federation series.
This, the last book in the arc, does not disappoint.
It wonderfully wraps up all the various threads, and yet leaves the door open for more.
Bravo, Sir Michael of the Anderles.
Well Done Sir!
Congratulations to you and your Team!

You are an EVIL EVIL MAN, Michael!!!

You make me cry my head off one moment and then laugh till it hurts the next! I didn't know what pure evil was till you created the Chancellor! That being doesn't deserve to be called human!

And poor Wayne, having to see what that thing did to his and his father's work was horrible! And then to watch Stephanie deal with the pushy politician was absolutely hilarious!

Wonderful stuff

An awesome ending. This is a great piece of how making allies instead of enemies can work for you when you need them. Always try to work with people. An outstanding, action packed story that takes no prisoners and punishes the wicked and protects the innocent. The Witch of The Federation shows who she is and what she stands for.

Nicely completed

Great ending to this series and although simliar to Bethany Anne it does well with the unity idea and the tech always goes down well mixed with the magic. Having some of ths characters acting like a ping ball of chaos and destruction works well and gives us some light hearted relief in some serious subjects.

Well Dang

I really enjoyed this series and the previous one. I am bummed that it is over, but based on experience Michael Anderle will have something awesome waiting for me.

If you like to laugh, maybe cry a little bit, and be thoroughly entertained, read the two Foundation Series

Awesome book

This is an amazing book to top off the series. I’m sure there are other stories that could be told as 5is is a super fun universe, and hopefully those stories will make it into other books. If not, then you definitely need to read the two main series that do exist as they definitely are worth reading. I recommend this book and series.

We finally get true ending to steph’s story and Johns :) I kinda missed the whole Morgana side and the inner commentary but I still really liked this book. I will say the earlier books are still my favorite and some of that is how much I liked seeing Mrs. E in action. I wish I could see what happens with her but aw well, can’t have everything.

Another one

Another excellent series draws to a close. Time to say farewell to another cast of characters. I will miss these guys. I always get invested in good characters and hope the stories continue, but of course, they can't. We'd never get new groups to cheer for, laugh with, and cry about.

Question about Ted.

I have read all of the Witch of the Federation and the Hertic books. Both series are excellent. However, since it came about that Ted didn't die, how come there was no reunion scene between him, Burt, Remy, and Roma in the last chapters of this book. After all, everyone did think he was dead.

Such an amazing book! I didn't want it to end but did love the ending. Read it completely through in one sitting.
Stephanie became as beloved as Bethany Anne. Michael is superb at creating characters that end up carving their own little space in your heart.

Fantastic Read

Well worth the time spent reading! These characters quickly became old friends and I hated having to put them away to go back to the mundane. May their creators be blessed by the muses and more stories be forthcoming.

Thanks for all the fish!

Well another series end, sleep deprivation stops. Umm, not likely. With the way LMBPN produces books, it will go on for another decade. Well, I consider myself well entertained indeed!

A great series

An incredible series by an incredible mind. It's hard to keep up with all the books Anderle writes. I've read a couple of hundred and he just gets better. If you like action, a great story and characters this series is for you.

Bitter sweet

I loved this series. I always drop what else I’m reading when a new book in this series comes out. The bitter part is because this story came to an end. I would have at least liked to meet her children. Maybe a short story?

Favorite series

I have a few series that I can read start to finish over and over and this is one of them for sure. I've been hooked since book one of the witch and was absolutely ecstatic to find her story continued in a spin off. Love love LOVE it all. Thank you.

Another great series!

You'll laugh and cry as you get to know and love these characters. Begin with the Federation Witch stories then continue this roller coaster ride through the Heretic books. Not as many books but just as good as The Kurtherian Gambit!

What an awesome ending to the series. The books have tons of action in them and plenty of humor. I loved all the characters and the author did such a great job on the world building and the aliens. I love all of Michael Anderle's books and also look forward to his series.
