Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
I stayed up all night to finish reading this book - because I just couldn't bear to set it down until I'd finished it!
As I've come to expect from a Martha-Michael story, the characters are so real to me, because they have all the same joys, sorrows, angst, and fears, the same quibbles, and delights, the same boredom, and excitement, the same pettiness, or delight in all things - and they all have something they are wishing for, so much, that they eventually make it happen!
As far as this story Arc is concerned, this meant going out to defend the City of Los Angeles, where all the Magicals in the City, will have to give up their independent thinking for a little while, to join together, to defeat the ancient being who describes itself as Blight.
This creature is determined to make LA it's lair, but the Tolnedrai, a clan of Nature Witches and Wizards, who fought, and almost completely defeated it millennia ago, and who call it the Choking Dread, are determined to do all in their power to render it totally destroyed - this time!
What happens in this story is both serious, and fun, and kept me totally absorbed in the plotting and planning going on in many places.
I'm not going to say more - except you really SHOULD buy this series to read, as it's a delightfully cozy urban magical mystery, and I loved it! Lol
As usual, I'm going to finish this review, and set up my Kindle, so I can start the next book of the series once I wake up again.
The next story is Book Four: 'Rogue Mom', and I'll catch you on the flip side, once I've finished it, to let you know what I think of this new Arc in the series!
What exchange will they be auctioned off on? Are you going to introduce crypto currency’s and Blockchain’s into future stories? (It is the future!) You could auction more than art work. First drafts, unpublished short stories, beta reader comments, so many things! This is my longest review in years because crypto and the blockchain technology have changed my life and my way of thinking. I’d love to see it in future stories! I’m not offering advice or anything. The only people dumber than me about this stuff are the Dogecoin diamond hand idiots.
These authors use environmental issues as the foundation of some of the main ideas in this series. Some of the characters seem a bit too similar especially between this book and the first book in the series. Though, I love how creative and unique these stories are. Carr and Anderle must has amazing imaginations. I also have to add that I'm so glad that Anderle is publishing with authors I'm not familiar with and I've found new authors and books I've loved.
I love Lucy and her family. Lucy is a Silver Griffin and goes on assignments to stop the bad witches and try and keep magic a secret. She also has a husband, 3 children, 2 with magic and the third a computer nerd. Her family helps on some of her assignments and fun and mayhem ensue. There is plenty of action, magic and fun in these books and I always look forward to the next one.
This series is getting better with each book. Air pollution is a huge problem in today's world. Lower emissions from cars. Fines for businesses that pollute not only the air but our water. We need the characters in this book to help us fight pollution. This book shows what not only happens to the air but to the plants that provides oxygen to our environment. Even though it's only a story it has a somber affect to what could really happen.
Lucy and her family are having to have the kitchen redone. Lucy and others are members of the Golden Griffins investigation group. An evil pollution group is trying to destroy LA.
The Tolderai are another group trying to defeat the pollution group.
Characterization is excellent, and plotting is good.
I really enjoy the interaction Lucy has with her family, co-workers, her hubby's co-workers, the neighborhood the PTA, & the community around her. Lucy loves Life & she's on a mission to keep it healthy & happy for as many people as possible. She's someone I'd want to live nearby.
This time they are fighting a very old enemy. A spiritual representation of filth and destruction, a creature of smoke and garbage determined to reduce the world to a pit of death and filth. And the people have been helping it. Smog and smoke are reducing LA to a place of horror where light and life are in jeopardy. Blight is its name. A good read.
Like the first two books, this book was outstanding, and the plot just keeps getting better. The main characters are believable, increasingly endearing, and fun. Don't forget the fun! I truly enjoyed the climax of the story, as well. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
I loved the multiple threads of this story that slowly weaved together around the core characters. And I enjoyed seeing Dylan grow more confident in his magic.
Looking forward to the next installment. Maybe Lucy and Kelly will go a whole day without a fight!
This one was pretty good. Lucy and all of her friends were able to come together to stop the big bad (Blight) and save the city from pollution. There was a lot of action and a lot more story involving other side characters.
Mais uma interessante narrativa em que magia e tecnologia andam juntas. Uma boa discussão acerca dos problemas de poluição que grandes cidades enfrentam. Bastante divertido, e uma boa leitura.
