Rate this book
Ruby is terrified of the menacing girl who haunts the hallway outside her bedroom. The ghost orders her to leave, but Ruby has nowhere else to go – her parents went missing, so she’s been sent to live with a relative she hardly knows in a strange mansion brimming with secrets. Specters haunt hidden closets, entire sections of the house have been declared off-limits, and Arthur, the young boy living with her, seems to possess a strange ability to see supernatural entities. As she discovers the mysteries of the mansion, she learns just how dire her and Arthur’s situation has become – or is it all imagined? Just paranoia? To survive, she’ll need to unlock abilities of her own and come face-to-face with the terrors that inhabit their home. I Reside Here is a fast-paced paranormal mystery, part of the River universe. It is a stand-alone novel; no prior reading of any other book is required in order to enjoy it. Praise for Michael Richan from Amazon "Awesome ghost story with wonderful characters and a great plot!" “Truly scary.” "Finally found a book that got under my nerves!" “Couldn't put it down...wanted the story to go on and on.” “Very few authors can pull me in immediately and make me feel as though I were reading about old friends. Stephen King always has, and I can now add Michael Richan to the list.” “Some of the most delightful reading I have done in a long time.” "This was a great horror book. I absolutely loved it, and I know you will too! Keep the lights on when reading!"

I RESIDE HERE, by Michael Richan started out with a very interesting premise. I think it may be a bit confusing to those who haven't read some of his other "RIVER" based stories, although it is a standalone. About a third of the way in, I thought that the action/events picked up dramatically, and it carried me through to the end.

An end, that just felt a little too....unfinished...somehow, for my taste.

Overall, a good read that kept me wanting to know more, but could have done with a more "concrete understanding" of the conclusion.

Wow, this is the beginning of another great series.

I have been following Michael Richan since the first book and have loved everyone of them. The concept of gifted and the river is fun and scary at the same time. I highly recommend this series of books. See his website for the suggested reading order.

It was an engaging read.

This was a bookI could not put down because I wanted to know more about Ruby and Arthur. There were times when reading in the dark gave me chills, especially every time Heidi showed up. I ended feeling bad for her. I am glad I read it. It was chilly fun.

Enjoyed it. Read in just a couple of hours.

At times I felt I was ready a teenager book. But the story behind it, kept my interest. I have gone back to start of this series, going into the River. See where this all begins. This book leads to a lot of questions.

Not bad

I really like Ruby and Arthur. I'd like to read them grown up and dealing with things via the River. Not giving anything away, so others could form their own opinions. This book was worth wanting to read the next in the series.

First time reading Michael Richan. Have to say really enjoyed this book. Characters were top notch, story flowed and plot was great. This should really be under YA category. Reminded me of the Goose Bump series. Recommend.

This was a different kind of ghost story. The pace of the story was good, and I found the narration by a 10 yr old interesting. Probably not going to read the next book in this series though. One was enough.

Starts out well...

This story starts out pretty well but goes downhill about halfway through. It ends up being pretty ridiculous. I love a good horror story, but this one misses the mark.

Childish

If I would have known that this book was meant for kids I would have left it alone. So I won't be reading the second part.
