I never expected my life to go up in literal hellfire.
The Dark Moon should be the best night of my life as a shifter. Instead, my sweet little house cat just combusted into flames in the middle of my bedroom, my tormenting alpha says he’s my mate, and three hellish men just blazed into my life like sinful gods.
It’s fine. Everything’s fine. No big deal.
Except rejecting the alpha who’s determined to make me his whore ends worse than I ever could have imagined…
With nowhere left to run, I’m forced to acknowledge the gorgeous existence of the three dark stalkers hunting me. They offer me something I can’t ignore: protection in the realm of Hell… as well as answers about my past.
My magic and my wolf grow stronger, fiercer, and deadlier in their presence. She settles right in with this murderous pack of misfits.
But I’ll never trust them.
Because the four of us together are like fire and gasoline.
And in the end, we’ll all go up in flames.
Reading Note Hell Kissed is a sinfully sexy reverse harem featuring a badass heroine, drool worthy heroes, and an epic journey that'll take you straight to Hell and back!
A.K. Koonce is a USA Today best selling author. She's a mom by day and a fantasy and paranormal romance author by night. She keeps the fantastical stories in her mind on an endless loop, while she tries her best to focus on her actual life and not that of the spectacular but demanding fictional characters who always fill her thoughts
The best part of this book was the sex scene. I had a hard time following the personality of the heroine. She refused to physically defend herself from her abuser/soon to be rapist because she thought she would kill him. Then she is happy when someone else kills one of her abusers for her. Followed by defending a hell beast that kills people. I say pick a lane and stay in it. It got on my nerves.
One coma inducing star. The book should be called A trip to hell. This was really boring & came to a predictable end. I will not be continuing this series.
Unwanted and bullied in her own pack Rhys (FMC) lives off of the fringes of everyone. Only for things to change on the night of her shift. 3 men - Aric, Lathan & Torben arrive and turn her world upside down by offering her an alternative. Hot as hell guys (pun intended!!), plot twists and plenty of steam kicks off a bloody brilliant start to this series. Rhys is a great character. Sweet with plenty of sass, snark but with an innocence too. The perfect opposite to Aric, Lathan and Torben. My god that ending though??? It completely threw me and now Ill be counting down the days until the next book. This one was so good!!!!
Meh read as it follows a typical story arc. Bullied girl who turns out to be special. Three rando sexy AF guys show up who will prove to her how special she is. Not enough world building in the sense that the other Realms weren't really all that defined and the coyness/silence of the 3 guys on why they're taking Rhys to Hell (ha) didn't do much for the plot... The conflict with her fated mates and old pack just kinda fizzles out.... maybe it will crop back up in other books, but likely not. That, for me, kills the 'rejected mate' trope as there's likely no future groveling. Not interesting enough to want to continue the series.
I wanted to love this, as I have enjoyed other series written by the author, but I struggled to get through this and in the end did DNF. There just wasn't a lot of character and relationship development...they are crossing through realms together and have hours to talk and get to know each other, but none of that happens? They just do it in silence and then the author jumps ahead to some sort of action. I don't know, I think I just wanted a bit more substance from it, as I loved the characters themselves and thought them interesting to get to know...but I didn't get a chance as there wasn't anything. I think overall it just felt a little rushed, with not a lot happening to keep me interested.
That cliffhanger really sucker punched me in the face. I need a doctor and the next book stat. Not going to lie I thought the fmc was going to be little too innocent for my taste but I was wrong she’s not. I’m so glad I was wrong, because I actually really ended up liking her and her moments of badassery. I liked the juxtaposition of sweet and sassy and downright snarky when it came down to it. I also really liked that she was a realist, it was fast burn but she definitely had questions and wasn’t immediately buying into these men who wanted to care for her. I really appreciated that. I like the men? Yes I do but I’m definitely going to need the next book to truly decide. That cliffhanger was a doozy so be prepared when you read. That being said I really enjoyed the book and cliffhanger aside I think it’s worth the read.
This book is all over the place, I think it could be good if arranged better. You really don't know what's going on most of the time, or how the main characters go from one thing to another without explanation.
I only read this because I got it for free during stuff your kindle day or else I would have never read it. The story was confusing and kept jumping around. You don't learn much about the characters either. The world building was lacking, which is a must in paranormal and fantasy books. I found most of the book boring until the last chapter. It does end on a cliffhanger, but it didn't make me want to continue with the series.
Honestly I am a little on the fence with this book...on the one hand I loved all the character, they are all fascinating in their own way and I want to get to know more about who they are. However, I felt that the world building was not as good as I would expect from AK Koonce, I think I could tell that this is a calibration between two authors as at times I can see two voices in the plot. I would have enjoyed more build up to the story as the beginning felt slightly rushed, however, it is quite a quick read and it did keep me interested all the way through and it has me wanting to read more. In the end I was entertained and intrigued to see what would happen next so for me it was a good read by two talented authors. Bring on book two.
It was a great story but it was like you could tell when the other author took over the story it was really choppy and didn’t line up correctly and so much information was missing in the story.
The story, the personalities, the world building is all over the place. It was a rough read with a lot of pointless threads that went no where. I don’t think I’ll be continuing with this series.
Book: Hell Kissed Read By: Ebook Author: AK Koone and Harper Wylde Genre: Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, reverse Harem Recommend: Yes Spice:🌶️️🌶️️ < b>Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years My feelings:
Ok so I didn't mind this book. It wasn't amazing and I wont finish the series but it also wasn't horrible.
“Your sweet little friend Bea claimed my mating mark.” His words chill me, freezing my heart in a block of ice so thick it might never recover. “Her wolf found me. Ran right up to me like the good little bitch she is.”
I found the storyline interesting, but the 3 men were not amazing. I kept forgetting there names and who was who thoughtout the book. I felt like I needed to take cliff notes to understand who everyone was.
“You don’t fit in with your pack because you belong in Hell,” Latham explains, his honey accent is all calm waves of relaxation and circle jerks. Yeah. Girls like that shit. She closes her eyes and a long, tired sigh slips from her lips. Hmm. She’s not loving it the way women usually do when Latham talks.
Apart from that, the story was action packed and was fast paced. Just the way I like my books.
No one tells you it’s okay not to be okay. That it’s okay to cry, to yell, to feel. To wish on a million stars and be disappointed when none of them come true. It’s okay to fall apart sometimes, as long as we find ourselves again in the aftermath. And more importantly, that it’s okay to find new happiness.
I would recommend to someone who maybe has a better memory than me.

I enjoyed reading about these characters. Torben was my favourite brooding a-hole and Aric was a fiercely protective dragon shifter that knows quite a few tricks. Lastly, Latham was funny yet tormented. So really you have a nice trifecta. I feel like the world and story could have used some more building and creativity. I kinda felt like you are dropped into the story with no background or build up. The journey they go on is interesting enough but it took the whole book and then when things got interesting but also confusing the book ended. So I feel like it has the potential to be a good series but the layout and structure needed a bit more refining.
I seriously enjoy A.K Koonce's work and although you can tell it's a collaboration, I will still be reading the next book to find out more.
Skipped through most of the scenes ngl. fmc is flat and almost exclusively thinks with her vagina and only of sex with all three men around her, so much so that you would think she was in heat. The other characters are very much 2D and basically copy-pastes of your typical male characters: the quiet mysterious one, the fiery one, and the disgruntled one who is super attracted to the fmc but won't/can't admit it. All their povs and thoughts are the same; author just ran them through a thesaurus; fmc is gorgeous, fierce, sexy, blah blah blah. not the first time I've heard all that.
Ending is, unsurprisingly, predictable.
Writing is lacklustre, and repetitive, and doesn't make me care about or sympathise with any of the characters, except for maybe the cat. Plot moved way too fast with how the characters were developing.
Only redeeming part is the sex scene and even then it felt extremely out of place and not pivotal to the story, like it was thrown in there just for the sake of having one.
Key words: Reverse harem, her parent are dead, she hasn't shifted, in a bad pack, men save her, dark and dangerous men/monsters.
Plot: * her parent died when she was young. her pack treats her awful. everyone can tell her wolf is strong but hasn't shifted. * on night of shift, three men/monsters come and take her * They take her to her mother in hell, but something else is up. * Eric the dragon, A is a wolf creature, and T is a fire mage of some sort. * The guys start to fall for her and her strength as they head to hell. * Eric, A and her have sex at a pong. * she feeds a hell hound * she finds out they sent her to be a prisoner with them in hell under the king and queen she is pissed.
The plot is *very* similar to another recently completed series (wolf shifter girl is pack punching bag. wolf shifter girl discovers that her mate is none other than the asshole alpha-to-be at the first shift/mate finding event. Wolf shifter girl is spirited away by sexy man/men from another realm and learns that she’s not *just* a wolf shifter...) but tbh the other series does it better. I say this because the timeline can be hard to follow; action isn’t always clearly plotted; and they went from strangers to feeling the L-word seemingly overnight. At least the sex scenes were hot.
This was a very enjoyable book full of excitement and adventures. Rhys has had a hard life and doesn't hesitate to follow three strangers when she learns they'll take her to see her mom. She'll do anything to get away from the abusive pack and physcotic alpha. As their adventure goes on, they come across many trails that nearly leads them to death. Along the way a bond is forged though, and Rhys connection to the guys gets closer. It also gets hotter. The sexual chemistry was HOT!🔥
I really liked this book and was completely surprised by the ending. I'm definitely interested in the next book and look forward to reading it.
I actually wanted to rate the book 2.5 stars. I wasn't the biggest fan of the book. It was hard to relate or even sympathize with the main character. Living in a pack where no one loves you or treats you with any amount of respect, yet she refuses to stick up for herself and doesn't have an exit strategy? I feel like most everyone who is in a shitty situation would have some sort of plan, given there could be some unwritten rule in this world about changing packs or going solo, but it didn't really cover that which just left me confused. Also, I didn't really feel the spark between the characters. It felt forced to me. I'm hoping the next books are better.

This book was AMAZING! So many questions, the drama, the sexual tension, the steamy moments all equal quite a ride. Our FMC has always been an outcast and bullied by the Alpha's son and his buddies. On the day she's supposed to shift she gets the surprises of a lifetime- some sexy stalkers are here for her but the biggest surprise, her tormentor is her mate. So when the decision becomes weird stalkers or her enemy she makes the logical choice and picks the strangers. From there her journey begins. All of the guys are keeping secrets but I love getting their POVs to get to knwo them a little better. Rhys is an interesting lead - strong and more capable than she believes but she's on her way to hell although it's clear she doesn't belong there. This was a well written and intriguing story and I look forward to book 2.
This book is now an absolute favorite for me. Once I started I truly could not put down and kept turning the pages because I needed to know what was going to happen next. The charespecially Rhys were awesome. Even though she's been mistreated her entire life she still comes out strong and her loyalty was what I adored the most. She will do whatever it takes to save the ones she cares about and loves no matter what. Now I am so anxious and excited for the next book because I need more and to see where her journey takes her.
“ Hell Kissed is a sinfully sexy reverse harem featuring a badass heroine, drool worthy heroes, and an epic journey that'll take you straight to Hell and back!” Well I read this and definitely had to read it and OMG It was so so goood! The world building is incredible, the storyline has action, adventure and twists and turns to keep you gripping the edge of your seat and the characters are simply awesome! Our female mc is smart, sassy and full of snark and her men are sexy and tormented and the steam is so so hot! It’s a fantastic start to this series and i am eager to read the next book!
Excellent slowburn RH with just enough tension and sarcasm...Fun adventure read and dynamic between characters! Multiple POV kind of .. mostly Rhys but a few chapters from the guys which I hope there is more in the next books, because I will read on 😁. My only criticism is a few unrealistic liberties taken during a super hot scene. Completely forgivable and I my husband would say "THAT'S what you don't believe?" Totally 100% recommend this book!!
She doesn’t want to kill her bully/future rapist but she’s all heart eyes when someone else does it? Then the “adventure” to hell was lackluster and anticlimactic. Aric goes from not trusting her and wanting nothing to do with her to having moon eyes over her and wanting her forever in a matter of days. The internal dialogue felt like filler instead of it having an actual purpose. There is good stuff in there but it just didn’t come together well.
It was good. It wasn't great but it would good enough that I'll read the rest of the series. It felt honestly like the main character was my college roommate telling me about her drink night out. She just had that voice about her. But the story itself was good and unique. I do wish there was more works building and character development. It felt very bare bones but I'm hoping that a lot of my questions will be answered in the next 2 books. But the plus side is I like that I'm not committing to a huge series so it's an easy fast paced read. Plus the spice was spicing 🌶️
What a wonderful Story. Rhys knew she didn't belong with the wolves. She was treated differently and couldn't understand why. Not knowing she had a protector all along. Then in comes 3 men from hell to take her to her fated place. I love that Rhys will speak up for what she believes in and isn't afraid to take care of her own. My favorite part is how Aric takes care of the alpha wolf's son. I thoughly enjoyed the sex scene with Aric and Latham. Looking forward to the next book!
This book comes jogging right from the begging until you’re sprinting by the end just to come to an abrupt halt. That ending was definitely a doozy. The FMC has her own evils to deal with, but she is strong and sassy. She’s not the wilting flower that needs constant saving. She is a realist that’s relatable in the real world. Can’t wait to read more about Rhys...and the guys. Talk about 🔥🔥🔥!!
