Blossom Glen #2

The Sweetheart Fix

Rate this book
Juliet Montgomery absolutely loves her small town of Blossom Glen, Indiana, and everyone loves her. Except for the fact that she’s a couples counselor who suffered a very public breakup that no one can forget. And now her boss asks her to take a step back…which is exactly when the town’s good-lookin’ and unusually gruff mayor offers her an unexpected job.

Jack Monroe absolutely loves being the mayor of his small town. Except when he actually has to talk to people. Can’t he just fix the community problems in peace? Like right now, he’s mediating the silliest dispute two neighbors could possibly have. When the town sweetheart steps up and solves everyone’s problems in five minutes flat, Jack realizes what this town really needs…is a therapist.

Juliet is able to soothe anyone—other than the surly mayor, it seems. But there’s a reason they say opposites attract, because all of their verbal sparring leads to some serious attraction. Only, just like with fireworks, the view might appear beautiful—but she’s already had one public explosion that’s nearly ruined everything…how can she risk her heart again?

This is a Romance, and this is the second book in the Blossom Glen series. I have read and reviewed the first book in this series, but I think this book can be read has a standalone without any problems. This book was slow to get going, and I took a while to get into the storyline. Once, I was pulled into the story I really enjoyed the book. I did love the characters in this book. Overall, this book was a cute and fun read with great characters that I totally fell in love with. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Entangled: Amara) or author Miranda Liasson) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I loved writing this story about Juliet, a relationship therapist with a rocky love life who, much to her chagrin, is affectionately called Lulu by nearly everyone in her town, and Jack, a displaced cowboy who would rather have a root canal than talk about his feelings. Juliet’s desperate desire to move on from her past mistakes and find her true self resonated with me as a quest we all take. Hope you enjoy—and have a laugh or two—as you read this story about two opposites who learn that the person they thought they would never fall for is exactly the one they most need. xo Miranda

This is a well-written, entertaining contemporary romance novel. It has likable characters, supportive family, small town charm, a touch of humor, a heart-warming romance, and a happily ever after ending. This is the second entry in Ms. Liasson's outstanding Blossom Glen series, and can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone, but is even better when read after reading "The Sweetheart Deal".
I listened to the audio version of this novel and the narrator, Ms. Virginia Rose, has a lovely voice and does an excellent job depicting the characters and their personalities.

I have only read Miranda Liasson a few times before, but I’m sure glad I read THE SWEETHEART FIX! What a beautiful story! I’m very excited to read her previous books now. This absorbing story combines both the beautiful sensory details of a small town with heartfelt characters, a moving plot, and a story with so much depth. THE SWEETHEART FIX is a lovely read with characters I rooted for, and some lovely details that brought the town of Blossom Glen to life. I highly recommend this story if you need a complete escape from life. This is the second book in the Blossom Glen series but it can easily be read as a stand alone, which is what I did. Now I’m going to go back and read the first book, The Sweetheart Deal. As you are reading, you will feel as if a Great American Family movie is playing in your head.

THE SWEETHEART FIX explores family dynamics, loss, secrets, and a new romance! Miranda Liasson handles difficult topics that will have the reader cheering for everyone to succeed. When I started reading THE SWEETHEART FIX, I didn’t know I’d come to love it this much. Where to start? Juliet is a couples counselor and is supposed to start her new career, but couples have a hard time believing in her because of her past. Juliet is such a great character, full of life and warmth. I loved how she didn’t let her past troubles destroy herself completely. She struggles with her past, but she also tries to fix it. I am so happy that she made this choice. She grows and learns a lot about herself and life itself while taking on a new job. The interactions between all the characters in this small town, where everyone knows everyone else, are vividly told and enjoyable to read. Love, hope, second chances and the importance of community are the threads that bind this book together beautifully.

I don’t want to say too much for fear of giving away too much of THE SWEETHEART FIX, but once I started reading this beautiful and heart breaking story, I could not stop! The story of this small town and the residents is surely going to pull at your heart strings. Everyone should have this unforgettable book on their winter reading list. THE SWEETHEART FIX is a small town romance that the reader is surely going to fall in love with! I did not want this story to end! The dialogue between Juliet and Jack is sometimes funny and other times frustrating! They both have secrets and without letting them out, they will not be able to move forward. I was instantly emotionally invested in all of the characters from page one and I can not wait to read more by this wonderful and heart tugging author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from TLC and Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

If you're looking for a closed door small town romance with fall vibes, this is it!

This hit the spot with it's fast paced story and charming small town setting.

I liked the characters and the plot. The romance was sweet but very based on physical attraction at first. The characters eventually got to know each other and there was depth there.

About 2 closed door scenes with little to no build up, which was perfect for me!

Would recommend!

Tropes & triggers: small town, mayor romance, banter, no language I can think of, closed door, innuendo, strong family and friend groups, some faith content from characters praying but I would not consider this Christian fiction.

The Sweetheart Fix is the second book in the Blossom Glen series but no worries if you haven't read the first in the series as this can easily be read as a stand-alone.
This is a small-town charming romance, a fun romance that you'll want to tell your sisters and friends about. Blossom Glen, Indiana is home to Juliet Montgomery, she's known and loved by all.
We also meet Jack, the mayor of this small town. He loves the town and its people but just wants to be left alone to fix its problems. Actually, he only became its mayor to help his grandmother with something he thinks is totally unfair.
Thrown together in a working relationship Juliet sees Jack is a rather grumpy person because of so much stress. Running out of time to help his grandmother leaves Jack frustrated beyond belief. I enjoyed seeing the slow burn of the romance, a real romance was established and grows naturally.
The characters are flawed and imperfect making the book so realistic. There are fun scenes, laughter, a little drama and the sweetest grandmother ever.
The characters are fun, relatable and makes you want to read more about them in future books which I'll be looking forward to.

This was a really sweet romance! This book made its way into my hands quite by chance so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did because the story was delightful. My first experience with Miranda Liasson’s writing was definitely a good one. I had no idea that this book was part of a series until I sat down to write this review so I can assure readers that this book works perfectly well as a stand-alone story.

Jack and Juliette were great together, although it took them some time to figure that out. Juliette is just starting out as a counselor in her hometown where everyone knows her history so she is questioned about her ability to give relationship advice after a few failed engagements. Jack is the town’s mayor and needs some help dealing with the people in town. Juliette ends up helping Jack out as the new town counselor and through working together they find that they are more compatible than they ever would have imagined.

I enjoyed watching Jack and Juliette fall for each other even though the romance seemed to move fairly slowly at times but that is just because they were both trying to be very careful. I thought that they had great chemistry together and I loved the fact that they had a lot of family support. The secondary characters in this story were very well done and added a lot to the story.

I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. This was a charming small-town romance with an unforgettable cast of characters. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work in the future.

I received a review copy of this book from Entangled: Amara.

Initial Thoughts
This was a really sweet romance! Jack and Juliette were great together, although it took them some time to figure that out. The supporting cast of characters added a lot to the story and I love that there were some funnier moments worked into the plot.

Favorite Quotes:

“If you really think you have a magic wand,” he said, gesturing to the two men, “have at it.” “I sure do, Mayor Jack.” She smiled sweetly and swirled her hand around in a spell-making gesture. “It also happens to match my broomstick.”

The man never lifted a finger to help anyone in his life. But he could sweet-talk a chicken across a five-lane highway.

Parents did devilish things to each other to get their kids into his class. One year some mom had broken into the office and erased a child’s name off the waiting list so her kid could move up. Who knew Blossom Glen Elementary’s kindergarten could be so cutthroat?

Juliet was never late. Except she did have a tendency not to show up at her weddings.

My Review:

This fun and well-paced small-town contemporary romance featured two well-known characters within their community who started off sparring with each other on the job as well as battling their histories and personal issues while trying to save face. They soon discovered they worked well together on and off the job and righted themselves in the process. The storylines were easy to follow and entertaining with a minimum of contrived conflict as well as amusing carryover and involvement of the endearing characters featured from the first installment, and topped off with a sweet and satisfying ending. There is one more sister to go, I have a feeling her issues are going to be far more complicated.

Absolutely another wonderful book by Miranda liasson.

A sweet clean romance story absolutely adore this series cannot wait for the next book.. There are so much I could tell but I don't like to give anything away.. Absolutely do love this author's work... I would like to give her more than 5 stars in my reviews but it's not allowed.

A relationship counselor that hasn't quite figured out her own relationship issues. Juliet's therapy job gets put on hold since everyone in town knows her past, but the new gig as town counselor let's her get to know Mayor Jack. Can they work together to her save Jack's grandma's land?

I really liked the relationship between Juliet and Jack since they both had some pretty messy past issues, but they were just themselves with eachother. The biggest struggle in this book was that it seemed to take awhile to get going, but it was worth the wait once it did. My favorite comic relief parts were the Santa panties and water tower story.

This is the second book in a series, but would work well as a stand-alone book. Both so far have just been feel good romances.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

This was a feel-good, small town romance with all the Fall vibes and a great cast of secondary characters. I really enjoyed that the FMC was a therapist and that she was open about the deep depression losing her father put her in. The mental health rep was excellent in this book and I enjoyed that the plot revolved around a Mayor hiring a therapist to help the town function better. Cute and good on audio - perfect for all the Hallmark Movie lovers out there. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

I have to say this was an enjoyable read. Okay, at times it was. Others which I'll talk about weren't so good. For the most part, I really liked this story. I enjoyed the characters and was happy to be back in this very cute town.

I really liked Jack and felt for him. He had so much pressure on him about his grandmother that it was sucking the joy out of his life for him. He's a good man and without so much family pressure I think would be an even better mayor.

Juliet is also a character I think you'll really enjoy. She's the reason I sometimes got a bit pissed at the story. I was so tired of hearing about how she couldn't be a good couples counselor because of her past. We all have pasts and keep doing our jobs. Juliet really cares about her hometown and wants so badly to help the people of it if they'd just give her a chance. I loved the idea of her helping the mayor and giving helpful advice.

Together these two work. They don't get that right away but as time goes on they do. You'll enjoy the ride with them. I think you'll also really enjoy the townspeople and their lives. I know I did. I want more from this series and can't wait to see what will be next.

If you're into small-town romance then you'll really enjoy this series. There is a bunch of sweet characters that stand for each other and at times even interfere a bit in each other lives. How could I not enjoy this story? I will be waiting for what comes next.

Look no farther if a caring, small, united town in the Midwest is exactly what you’re seeking for your next read.
Juliet has a reputation for very public romantic dustups, but now she’s ready to forge a new identity as a therapist. Jack, a transplant from Texas and mayor plus adversary of Juliet, is desperate to save his grandmother’s land from development. The two realize they need to join forces, in more than one way.
I loved all the quirky, embarrassing scenes the author subjected Juliet and Jack, but I won’t give anything away.
I love that Blossom Glen is set in Indiana and that it’s a community of people who care and look after each other. Of course, they are gossips galore and in everyone’s business, but it’s endearing.
Treat yourself to a stop in a pleasant read.
Thanks to The author, NetGalley, and Entangled for the early read.

Another amazing story by Miranda Liasson with great characters. The small town atmosphere where everyone knows everyone's business. The two main characters, Juliet Montgomery and Jack Monroe are relatable and complex in which Ms Liasson shows a true depth of their personalities. Juliet who just started as a counselor at Blossom Glen's Psychological services practice. She had a complaint lodged against her by Chris the wife who she was counseling along with the husband. This was the first couple she was counseling at her new job. Chris questioned her ability to counsel them because Juliet had three failed engagements. Her boss Char told her she needs to take a break from relationship counseling but could still do family clients. It all comes down to lacking confidence. She needs to figure out what went wrong in her relationships. Then you have Jack who took a two year leave from his architecture job to become Mayor. He was hoping to get support from the people in his town when the zoning commission meets. His grandma's accountant failed to pay her taxes for years and now her property was to be auction off. There's a big conglomerate that wants to bid on his grandma's property and wants to turn it into a golf course with shops and restaurants. When Juliet ends up accidently in one of his forums where he hears towns grievances. She actually was helpful in solving a lot of those grievances. Actually she solved them. He knows everyone loves her. Maybe, she could also help him with improving his rough edges. So he ends up hiring her part-time temporarily as the town counselor. There is so much more to this story. This is a must read to see how their friendship develops and to get to know the other characters in this story. I enjoyed it so much I read it twice wishing I could find a small town like that to live in busybodies and all.

The Sweetheart Fix was a sweet, classic contemporary romance. It is a straightforward, charming story, but it lacked that extra something that makes it a truly memorable read.

This book is the story of Juliet and Jack. Juliet is the middle sister, and she has a past that makes people not take her seriously in her new profession. Jack is the town mayor trying to save his granny's land from the big, bad developer who wants to put a golf course in their picturesque small town. Everything about this book was fine for me. It all just felt a little cheesy and stereotypical--right down to the Stetson and Texas BBQ. It has a classic style that is comforting, but doesn't challenge or excite me.

I have read and enjoyed Miranda Liasson's past books. I think she writes an endearing small town romance. I did not read the first book in this series, but I think my experience would have been enhanced if I had. These books really build on each other, and I think it was a missed opportunity that Viv's book wasn't set up more in this story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the early e-book in exchange for my honest review!

Juliet Montgomery is a couple's counselor who had a very public breakup and now her boss asks her to take some time off. She is the sweetheart of Blossom Glen, Indiana and everyone loves her, but this is something she doesn't know how to get beyond. The town’s good-lookin’ and gruff mayor, Jack Monroe loves being the mayor but doesn't enjoy working with people to solve their problems. When Juliet attends one of the mayor's mediation sessions, she gives advice that works and he offers her a job. She will be the town therapist, although that is not what the job is actually called. Juliet and Jack are opposites, but do opposites actually attract? As they become interested in each other romantically, can they lower the walls and let someone in?

This is the second book in the Blossom Glen series and I enjoyed it as much as the first. The first book is the story of Juliet's sister finding love, now it is her turn. Juliet is a great character. She is caring, full of life and smart. she didn't let her problems get her down, she worked with the mayor to solve problems and listening to others gives her the ability to do that. As the story progresses, she has her own personal growth, and makes plans to make a better life for herself. I loved the way her family and friends supported her as well. Jack is a man with some baggage and when he shares his past, he begins to heal. His grandmother is a hoot and was a great lady, who was ready to move on in the town's best interest. There is an issue about land developing and the environment as well as corporate greed, that gave the book a bit of a heavier issue that I liked. The interactions between the townspeople in Blossom Glen, a place everyone knows each other's business, adds some humor to the story and allows the reader to get to know some of the quirky and eccentric characters better. This is story of new beginnings, second chances, community, the environment, friendship, family and more. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to my next visit to Blossom Glen to see the final sister get her happily ever after. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Virginia Rose. She did a nice job with this story and added to my enjoyment. I recommend this book in any format if you enjoy romance, stories about community and happily ever afters.

A sweet small town, enemies to lovers, slow burn romance. I was impressed with the flow of this book. The characters and story reminded me of a rom-com. I felt different emotions while reading. I had a good time reading this one. So much so, I plan to go back and read the first book.

The story of couples counselor Juliet Montgomery and town mayor Jack Monroe is one to be enjoyed by all who enjoy a good story with a lot of messy life peeking in. Juliet’s plan to be a couples counselor in her hometown of Blossom Glen, Indiana, is upended when her boss tells her that she just isn’t ready yet. After all, her past relationships throw a big shadow over the possibility of successfully counseling others. So, when she takes a job with Mayor Jack Monroe, really a fill in position as a mediator, Juliet had no idea what it would lead to. The ups and downs of relationships and life in general are portrayed honestly and with a tongue-in-cheek humor that was refreshing. I enjoyed the way the plot rolled smoothly along, with some twists in the road and some real drama. I especially enjoyed the how real the characters were, with fallibilities that were revealed along the way of their own trip to self-discovery. This was a fun book to read, entertaining as well as lighthearted and sweet spirited. My favorite characters were the protagonists, of course, but I also really liked Jack’s grandmother. Her kindness and generosity were exemplary and a good addition to the story. Fans of romance without a lot of steam but with a great deal of budding love will enjoy this visit to Indiana where the people are real and the emotion is a wellspring of life well lived.

Juliet Montgmery is ready for her new career as a counselor. But on the first day, one in the couple she is counseling, calls her out on her own past broken engagements. Her new boss suggests she take a few weeks and to better prepare herself for her new job. In the meantime she stumbles into a city meeting where the mayor, Jack Monroe, is hearing disputes. She resolves things so well that the mayor offers her a part time job as the city counselor.

As sparks fly between Juliet and Jack she takes the time to find out why she is a people pleaser and how that led to her almost getting to the alter 2.5 times. Jack, loves being mayor, but he has his own issues. He fears abandonment because of his childhood. And the reason he is in town is to save his grandmothers beloved property.

This is a sweet, small town, closed door, low angst romance that is easy to recommend. It has a few quirky side characters with focus on family and friends. This is the second in the Blossom Glen series. I’ve read and reviewed the first and while this can easily stand on its own it is better to read in order. The main couple in the first book factor are respectively the sister and the best friend to the MCs in this book. And you get to know the progress in their relationship. Now I’m going to have to sit back and wait for sister Vivienne’s story. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Four and a Half Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭒

The Sweetheart Fix by Miranda Liasson is the second book in her popular Blossom Glen series, but can easily be read as a stand-alone book. I loved this small town, opposites attract story very much.

Story Recap:
Juliet Montgomery is a small-town couples therapist but after a very public breakup that hurts her credibility as a couples therapist.

Jack Monroe is the Mayor of Blossom Glen, and he loves his town and his job, except for the many petty disputes between neighbors. When Juliet accidentally finds herself in a city meeting, she helps to solve a dispute between bickering neighbors and Jack decides to hire her as a city therapist and help him with what he feels is the worst part of his job.

When Jack and Juliet start working together, they each find a new appreciation for their careers and each other.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed returning to Blossom Glen for this new story. Jack and Juliet are both sympathetic and interesting characters, and completely different. Jack doesn’t like to talk to people, especially people who can’t get along, and Juliet is a social butterfly and loves to talk to people.

Blossom Glen is an adorable small town that I would like to live in. Jack is the kind of mayor I would want for my town, as he cares so much for his hometown. And Juliet is the kind of therapist I would enjoy.

The author does a wonderful job of putting both Jack and Juliet in interesting and sometimes embarrassing situations that add some comic relief to this sweet romance.

Recommendation:
I highly recommend The Sweetheart Fix to anyone who enjoys a sweet romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Sweetheart Fix is the second in the Blossom Glen Series, but can be read as a stand alone.

This was such a sweet clean romance and I really enjoyed it. I liked how Miranda has put mental health in the forefront of this story. Both Juliet and Jack have a lot of obstacles to overcome, but with patience and a lot of soul searching, they should be able to have a healthy grown up relationship.
It was nice revisiting characters from the previous book. I love small town romances, and this one is perfect! Even though everyone is up in your business, they are also your biggest fans and are there to help you succeed.

Looking forward to another installment in the series, as there is one more sister!

Juliet Montgomery is living her best life as a couples counselor until she is asked to take break from her job after a compliant. She then unexpectedly finds herself working with the very handsome mayor of Blossom Glen, Jack Monroe. They are both so different but can opposites attract?

This was the second book in the Blossom Glen series. I didn't read the first book yet, but you can read this as a standalone. I really enjoyed this cute story. It reminded of some of my favorite Hallmark movies and I really loved that. If you are looking for a sweet and easy romance that makes you laugh and adds a smile to your face, I recommend THE SWEETHEART FIX.

When Juliet’s ability to successfully counsel couples is being questioned due to her romantic past, she finds herself on a leave of absence. The decision of what to do during this time is answered when she is able to negotiate a disagreement at a town meeting and Jack, the mayor, offers her a job.

Jack’s decision to put his career on hold and become the mayor is twofold as he wants to help the town, but he really wants to help his grandmother. Being distracted by what he perceives as trivial disputes was not what he signed up for and Juliet is the solution to that problem however it isn’t long before their professional relationship starts to feel personal.

This is a heartwarming and humorous story as Juliet and Jack realize they make the perfect partners in love and life and their friends and families only make their story that much better.

Didn't realize when I started reading this is part of a series but no worries it can be read alone.
Juliette the second child of three daughters is excited to start her new career as a therapist when she is blindsided by her patients by them bringing up her past two engagements. This being a small town everyone knows unfortunately everyone's story and Juliette is still being talked about the woman who left two men at the altar. Jack the mayor of the town is also dealing with commitment issues, so its a twist when they both start seeing each other. This is a story of overcoming one's past not being to hard one one's self and fighting onward. A sweet story about finding love even after all some chaos in ones life. Giving an arc by netgalley.

Thank you to Entangled and Netgalley for sending me an e-ARC to read and review! I loved that this one picked up with Juliet's story and I thought her and Jack were a perfect combo. This one centered on therapy and a lot of healing and moving on from your past which was done so well. I enjoyed seeing Tessa and Leo updates as well as a preview of what's to come for Viv. This was fun, Juliet was incredibly sassy and I loved her as the main character so much. I thought Blossom Glen was a great setting once again and I really enjoyed the growth that happened in this one. I think these love stories are so sweet and I'm so excited for more books from Miranda!

I asked for this Arc because I enjoyed and gave four star to the first book in the series but unfortunately i was a bit disappointed in this new book in the series.

For me the story felt thin and I had a hard time connecting to Julia because of her inability to self reflect. Kudos though to the author for giving both Julia and Jake flaws :) I really like this author so it doesn't feel great to only give three stars.

Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free, electronic ARC of this novel received in exchange for an honest review.

Welcome back to Blossom Glen, the second installment in the series, The Sweetheart Fix. In book #2, we meet Juliet, a couple counselors, who has a reputation as a heartbreaker after three failed engagements. In her hometown, she can't escape the talk and doubts about her ability to serve as a therapist.

Along comes the honky-tonk Mayor, Jack, who enlists her help in restoring peace among neighbors throughout the community. A transplant from Texas, he's a big hunky man who wears his heart on his sleeve. His most endearing trait is his love of his grandma and pride for his town he calls home. These two characters go from enemies to friends to lovers in this sweet story which can be read as a stand alone in the series. It was great to see the happenings of characters from book one too...

Thank you Entangled Publishing for the complimentary copy of this novel.

This is the first book I have read by Miranda Liasson, and while it is actually book 2 in a series, you don’t need to have read the other book first in order to follow along.

This is a sweet, small-town romance that focuses on family and friends. It has a simple, predictable storyline, and the characters are likeable. Overall, a fun, quick read.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this second book in the Blossom Glen series! I read book 1 and e joyed, but this can be read as a stand alone.

It features a small town mayor and a couples counselor and has all the drama small towns are known for. It’s a sweet, closed door romance that touches on some surprisingly tough mental health concepts.
