This book documents the builders of the well known NC/SC/GA Gillespie Rifle. It starts with John Gillespie who was born circa 1753 on the banks of the Cowpasture River of western Virginia and follows his gun maker sons and grandsons until their deaths in the late 19th century. There are many color and black and white photos that are shown along with information on who built the rifles pictured.
