Newly-single, heartbroken, unemployed, and homeless actress Rachel Kennedy has endured the worst day ever. She’s about to give up on her career and her heart when a hot cop with a sinful smile saunters into her life. Then she meets his twin brother. Double trouble. Two Prince Charmings to choose from. The problem is they both have secrets and she’s done with secrets. Is it too much to ask to stop winding up in all the wrong places?
Randi doesn’t take herself seriously, and neither should you. Depending on the day, she’ll claim to be a beach girl (not a lie, that’s where she grew up) or a little too country (not really a lie either, she lives in Kentucky). She’s a perfectionist (a blessing and a curse), a little bit obsessive-compulsive about grammar, a lot neurotic about stupid things like eating cake, and is too sarcastic for her own good. She has too many dogs, a handful of cats, and a kid to keep her busy. She’d much rather be curled up with a dog, a book, and a glass of Moscato than going out and doing stuff because introverting is cool. (And adulting is not.)
She refuses to stay in her own damn lane, writing some contemporary romance and some paranormal romance (but her favorite to write is PNR). She’s the author of All the Wrong Places (Melange Books), a full-length contemporary novel, and contemporary romance novellas, Spar, (Moirae Publishing) and Anticipating Temptation (Melange Books). She also wrote a PNR trilogy, a gay romance novella, and had short stories published in anthologies that are all now out of print. (Good things don’t last forever.)
Before I get into my review, can we take a minute or five to appreciate how sexy this cover is? *le sigh* Ok on to the review!
I don’t even know if I can properly put into words how much I LOVED this book!! From the story to the characters, it’s just an awesome read. I did not put it down. Thank the goddess for pizza delivery! If you find yourself feeling some type of way about certain characters then the author did her job. Some made me mad and some I wanted to hang out and get blackout drunk with. Well done Miss Perrin! The story didn’t turn out the way I thought it would and I was totally ok with that. This author never fails to surprise me in any of her books. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a guilty pleasure read. Pro tip: Have the pizza delivery number near by. I give this 5 stars!
I really loved this book. Rachel seemed to have a bit of a bad luck streak. It seemed like everything that she did went wrong especially with her work situations. Things started to look up for her when she met Christian. He seemed to be really awesome. But then I started to feel iffy about him. When his brother Kevin popped into the picture I was like yup she’s with the wrong brother. I love love loved the outcome of the story! Definitely worth the read!

This was an adorable read with some nice themes. I always love stories with strong heroines that rely on themselves when things get tough.
I liked the plot of the story because it kind of starts out like a survival story. Rachel is experiencing a pile of hardships all at once at the start of the book and she is determined to make things work out without having to resort to asking her father for help. I enjoyed her journey from broke, unemployed, and flying off the edge of a cheating boyfriend to letting herself experience something spontaneous. While I liked the plot and the premise, I didn't much care for the storytelling. It felt a little choppy to me. Some of the dialogue was a little cringe-worthy and some of the things that happen in the story felt forced or awkward. So the ideas were working for me but the execution not so much.
I didn't really connect with the main character, Rachel. She felt kind of ditzy to me and she sometimes said or did things that felt off to me. While I didn't connect with her, I didn't dislike her either. She simply seemed annoying most of the time. Her bout of bad luck really made me sympathize with her and root for her throughout the story despite not really connecting with her character otherwise. For all of the faults that I had with Rachel's character, I admired the part of her that was a strong heroine. She took charge of her life when it was falling apart and handled things as they came at her. I liked Lily and the friendship that she and Rachel had. I didn't like Christian from the get-go and I think that he was written for that purpose exactly. I wish that we could have had more closure with Mark and Cassandra's characters. They were prominent at the beginning of the story and then we don't see them again. A chance for Rachel to put them in their place after their betrayal would have been nice to see. Rachel did have a final word with Cassandra, but I think that she needed Mark to see her happy and moving on with her life.
I liked the take on the romance. It was kind of refreshing and unexpected. I don't really want to give much away but I think that the romantic angle in this book is compelling and different from most romance novels that I have read previously. The initial romance with Christian felt like it came on a little too quickly, but I think that perhaps it was supposed to in the scope of things to come. I'll leave off right there since I don't want to spoil anything.
I liked being immersed in the Australian setting in the story. I am an American so I felt that the world-building was great in this. I also liked the small bits of theater life that we get to experience through Rachel and Lily.
Overall, I think that this is a satisfying read with twists and relatable characters that you won't want to miss! Rachel's adventures in life and love will keep you entertained and wanting more. I did have some issues with the storytelling and characterizations in this one, but the story still kept my interest and finished on a high note.
I am new to Randi Perrin, but I am in love! All the Wrong Places was an amazing read! I was not able to put it down! The characters were exceptionally written and the story was great! I hate spoilers in a review, but I will tell you that you need this one RIGHT NOW!
OMG this book is hilarious. All the characters gave me serious giggles, and Perrin's writing style is the stuff of comic dreams. Despite claiming she's not a romantic, Perrin has written a sweet, sexy fluff-fest with this one. So much fun ... plus hot men, times two!
