I always loved the idea of Alchemy in RPGs, but never had the time or devotion to work it into a campaign. Its always complicated and time-consuming, and involves characters tracking down supplies and spending days in one spot. Theoretically interesting, not practical.

Lots of different magical systems for making magic items. Very good resoruce.
