If you read Diana Cooper's books with an open mind, you will be introduced to all manner of possibilities within our world. For anyone who is close to animals and nature, this is a must read book.

I enjoyed this book so much I didn't want it to end. I'd love to read about the spiritual purpose of every animal, bird, and insect in the world, but just reading about those that are included made me realize that every creature has an important job to do. I was already on the verge of vegetariansm, but this book gave me more reasons to abstain from eating meat, even when it's offered in someone else's home. The last section is about trees, so not exactly part of the animal world, but they are sentient beings, too, and also not honored or respected for their part in maintaining the health of our world. This book is a beautiful reminder that every part of Creation is connected to every other part, and every being has a part to play in the cosmos.
