Leah’s life is perfect. She has an apartment to die for, a handsome boyfriend, and her dream job in New York City. With one phone call her world shifts. She returns to the small town she left seven years ago and finds herself face to face with the man who’s never left her heart. When she sees Caleb again, the perfect life she thought she had begins to unravel, and with each passing day, she wonders if this could be their second chance. Now she must decide if her life in the city is worth more than the one she left behind. Return to Grace is book one in a sweet romance series that will conclude with an HEA.
Bethany is a CT teacher by day, author by night. She is married to her best friend and the mother of her two spicy, little girls. When she isn't writing sweet romances or spending time with her family, you can find her whipping up something in the kitchen, enjoying a hot cup of coffee or with her nose stuck in a book.
This is the first book I've read by this author and Wow! This book had me looking sleep it was so good!! I laughed i cried and I wanted to bang the characters heads together and say sort yourself out. Can't wait to read the rest
Return To Grace The Grace Valley Series Book 1 Written by: Bethany Surreira
This is the first book in a series and as with some first books the reader is meeting the characters, the cities or towns in which the story takes place and beginning to form opinions about character development, plot lines and generally getting a feel for the author.
For me, the prologue told me a lot about some of the characters. At some point the story would take place in a small town, that the people who lived in this town were almost family. I was beginning to get the feel for the story. As the story began unfolding, we spend the beginning with Leah Abernathy, she’s all grown up, has moved away from Grace Valley to go to University and is now living and working there. She has a good friend in Sara and her boyfriend Josh and a job she adores.
When a girl grows up and leaves home town, there is always going to be a reason why girl has to go home, This is where the story really begins to take shape. There is a family death that has Leah travelling back home to help out. We get to find out even more about Leah, as a person and I have to say I’m not sure I like Leah and who she has molded herself into.
Upon her return home we then get to interact with many of the characters from the prologue and we get to spend more time in Grace Valley, Connecticut. Author Bethany Surreira paints the picture of a small town not that far away from the Big City, where lives are full of friends and get togethers and holiday celebrations.
Now that Leah is home, her past behaviors come back to take her on a journey of her younger years and some of the mistakes she had made that can’t be corrected. This first book is very much about Leah doing some self-reflection and opening up her mind to some self-change.
I’m looking forward to book two and hoping to see not only Leah, but also Caleb (her childhood sweetheart) and all the other people in Grace Valley.
This was my first book by this Author and I have to say I really did enjoy it.
For me, if I get sucked into a story straight away then that in itself tells me I am in for a treat and that was what happened with this book.
Leah was an interesting character and I did enjoy her banter with her best friend. Leah's journey through this story did have its ups and downs but that is part of life isn't it.
It was very interesting to find out about her back story with her Mum. Things that happened and wish they didn't and as time passes you wish you could do things differently or even wonder why a tiny thing ended up being a big thing.
Until its too late to get it resolved and they are gone...
She had a lovely relationship with her Dad which was nice to read. He was such a lovely man and so glad she had him there for her and vice versa.
A few tears were shed I have to say along the way. It was a lovely story even if it was a bit frustrating at times and you just wanted to shake the two MC's. lol But where would the fun be in that!
The chemistry with Leah and Caleb was beautiful to read and the few times they were together it just jumped off the page.
I have come to realise I don't like cliffhangers lol
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the 1st in a new series and well as a new author to me, but I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Leah is living the perfect life until a phone call has her returning to her small hometown and coming face to face with Caleb who she left behind. This is a story about reflecting on past mistakes and a journey of self-discovery. This is a well written sweet story which is filled with emotions, family, friendships, witty banter, 2nd chances, and love. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and I highly recommend this talented author’s work.
Return to Grace is the 1st book in the Grace Valley series by Bethany Surreira. This book was super cute and I can definitely see this one as a Hallmark movie😊 A return back to a small town from the big city, realizing who your one true love is, and how important family is. Can't wait to read the 2nd book to find out what happens. I recommend this book if you are looking for a sweet romance novel.
I was in the mood for a great story set in a quaint town near Christmas. And I found this one! The story was perfect, the characters are amazing. I loved the details about Grace Valley. I can't wait for book 2!
