Dark clouds are forming. The Sarnonn rebels, seduced by Hakani's stories of the comparative ease of life at High Rocks, eye Kthama with jealousy. Akar's abduction of Tehya continues to haunt her, affecting her health and Khon'Tor vows to end the problem of his estranged son once and for all. Meanwhile, crimes from the past, long concealed, are now revealed before the High Council with devastating consequences. Wisdom says there is a time to wield the sword and a time to lay it down. The time has finally come for debts to be paid , in Retribution . Retribution is the ninth book in the series The Etera Chronicles. Series One will be followed by Series Two and Three in the continuing saga of The People; their tumultuous past and their uncertain future.
When Leigh Roberts is not caught up in the fantasy world of Etera with Adia, Khon'tor, Acaraho, Oh'Dar, and Nadiwani, she is enjoying the beauty of the rural area in which she lives.
An avid reader since early childhood, she grew up on superhero comics, science fiction stories, and television shows like The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and Star Trek.
Star Trek had a huge influence on her thinking and taught her the infinite possibilities of imagination--and how to split infinitives. Spoiler alert: you may find a Klingon word or phrase dropped in here or there.
She loves being an author, and her heart's desire is to be writing for a long, long time to come.
This is one of the best series I have ever read in my 40+ years of reading. Everything is here, suspense, mystery, fantasy, romance, family, coming of age, surprise, shock and awe. I found myself invested in the lives of the characters, rooting for some, loving some, hating others, definitely a roller coaster of emotions. I cried with them, laughed, celebrated and grieved. I am anxiously awaiting the continuation of this series. I am a lover of fantasy/sci-fi. This is a unique take in this genre. The character development is rich, enough detail provided about the physical surroundings that I could picture it in my head without needing to read pages upon pages describing the scenery. Highly recommend!
What must go on in Leigh's mind is amazing! I have just read book 9 and can hardly wait until the next book. There has been so many changes in the lives of these characters in this book, I could hardly wait to turn the next page. I do not want to give anything away but if you have not read this series, you are missing out on a fantastic writer. It is real. You get to know the characters like they are real people. I so enjoyed the interview at the end.
What can I say, except this book out does the last one and I cannot wait for the next one. The interview with the characters at the end of this book was hilarious. You should read this book just for those interviews. I wonder how book ten is going to turn out. I am on the edge of my seat for series 2 for I can’t wait for either one of them and I feel like a kid at Christmas. Wonderful series.
Book nine brings many surprises and changes. O'Dar starts his life with Acise, the Sarnonn Rebels decide to take Ktahma, Khon'Tor's past catches up with him, and Acarado and Adia may be facing the biggest change of all. And don't forget Akar'Tor who is still planning his revenge. Looking forward to Book Ten which Leigh Roberts says will be the last I hate to see the series end I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
5 stars plus! Clan of the Cave Bear meets Sasquatch! This series had me hooked from the start and eager to continue with each subsequent novel! I love how the characters were interwoven with one another, and the appearance of the "Wachini" made the reader realize how diversity can lead to wariness and distrust. If you've read about the Clan and enjoyed that series then take the leap to this one! I'm sure you'll be enthralled! Looking forward to series 2!
This series has become a part of my life now. Leigh Roberts, you have imagined "reality fiction" and pulled us all into your story of Etera. Thank you for helping me through this crazy time of pandemic and pandemonium! Bring on number 10. Although the next book never comes quickly enough! Thank you!
Oh no, i always hate it when books i love come to an end.....l loved the interviews , helps knowing that there will be a book 10. Thanks Leigh for taking me on this wonderful journey
This book kept me from eating, doing housework and even sleep. The story is remarkably able to draw me in and not let go until the book is ended. I just wish the stories were longer so I wouldn’t have to wAit fir the next book.
This is by far the best series of books I’ve read in a long time!!! You will not be disappointed in this series. Leigh captures the characters in perfect detail and you can’t help but feel like you are there in the story with them.
I am finding change hard, as it is for the People. Here is such turmoil and upheaval, but still enlightenment, that I must get to book 10 immediately. And so...
It was good to see Khon’Tor step forward to admit his wrong doings. People can change. I love the turns this story makes LR keeps you on your toes. Looking forward to the next book.
Omg!!! Excellent book. I can't say enough about it but I can't, lol to much going on and I don't want to give anything away! Just know it's amazing as usual! I highly recommend this series and this book!!
I am a fan of this type of story.... the different and unusual. Have never read anything on Big Foot (sorry I don't retain the real name). The series was amazing and I read them one right after another. One of stories you want to see continue on. I know it was fantasy but it was so well written I could swear I was reading about real life. I felt as though I had learned so much about them by the end of the series. Thank you to Leigh Roberts to an amazing series that grabs you.
