My Sister's a Pop Star #1

Moja siostra jest gwiazdą pop

Rate this book
Cześć, jestem Sam. Witam was na moim blogu! On coś knuje.

I'm an Usborne Books & More consultant who signed up purely to get books for my childrens' home library at a discount, but occasionally I pick up some of their other titles because I think a friend's child might enjoy a particular book. Such was the case with My Sister's a Pop Star.

I have to say it was a pretty darn good story, and one I'm certain I would have loved as a tween. Sam is funny and likable, and her life as the not-famous sister of the newest teen music sensation is interesting and, surprisingly for Sam, even fun. The book stresses the importance of family ties, telling the truth, and keeping your word. I didn't find any objectionable elements to the storyline whatsoever.

Sam is a blogger in the books, and you can actually read her blog online here: http://www.mysistersapopstar.com/

There are two other books in the series: "The Fame Game and Me" and "My Life on TV"

I really loved this book. It was about these to sisters named Sam and Danni. Sam thinks that Danni is better at singing, so sam wants be just like her but she can't because they are two different people. But sam has to audition but she doesn't want to because she thinks that shes not good. I rated this book a ten out of ten because it was really understandable. It made sense to me, it was a good prediction because I looked on the front of the book and thought this might be a good book. So it was amazing I recommend this book for girls who are in sixth grade or below. I also recommend it for girls who like fantasics " as in fantasy " HOPE GIRLS ENJOY THE BOOK!

Kimberly really nails it. I hope every young woman can read this series and realize that Hollywood isn't what the movies make it.

Lekka, zabawna i niezbyt długa powieść.

It was a cute book and my girls laughed, but it was a little too “perfect” and the main character was more like an 8 or 9 year old, not a 12 year old. My kids enjoyed it, and asked to read the next one in the series.

Was my absolute favourite in years 4-6. I wanted to be Sam so badly, or Danni, I loved them both,

'Hi, I'm Sam, welcome to my blog!
Guess what? My sister Danni is THE number-one, superstar pop princess- and my life's totally crazy! I can't wait for Danni's world tour to end so we can get to be a normal family again.

Well, as normal as you can be with Danni's slimeball agent hanging around. I definitely think he's up to something- and I have a sneaky feeling I'm not gonna like it...

Backstage passes, private jets and TV stardom- life's one ultra-glam rollercoaster when your sister's a popstar.'

This book was from the lovely Usborne. I emailed them asking for a book, and they emailed back saying yes- and please could I review this one? I said yes- and I am so thankful they offered, and I accepted as I am in LOVE with this book!

Kimberly Greene has the power to keep you hooked, but not so there's so much drama, that you can't keep up. Greene is so talented, that you just want more and more. I know I'm gushing but- who cares? She's my new favourite person!

I am so glad there is a sequel to this, and better still, I have the sequel! If there wasn't I would be in deep depression, and would refuse to leave my room.

The cover of this is so sweet and quirky. It kinda shows the book it is, not genre wise- but that its cool, and quirky [yes, quirky is my new favourite word:].

Main Characters:

Sam: Sam doesn't like all the limelight her elder sister Danni is attracting, especially as the cameras want to follow her around everywhere too. Capturing every fall, every fart, and every burp. She records all her thoughts on her blog. Sam really dislikes Robert, Danni's horrid manager.

Danni: Loves the new house, new clothes, new make-up assistants, and new money. She loves all the stardom she's getting, and doesn't want it to get.

Rose: Sam and Danni's mother. Rose try's to do the best by everybody, but it doesn't always work! She's not impressed by Robert many times in here. But can she put up with him for any longer?

Robert: Danni's manager. He DID get Danni her record deal, help her sell MILLIONS of records, and got the family their amazing house. On the other hand, he's horrible to Sam, he lies to Rose, he lies to Danni, he's just an all around 'slimeball'.

Blu: The lovely producer living in the house. He's so nice to Sam, and gives her a great 'win, win' situation.

This amazing book has inspired me to create my own diary blog:

There is a girl named Danni who is very talented. She has a beautiful voice and becomes a popstar. Her little sister Sam hates the fact that her sister is famous now. Sam is very tomboyish and doesn't care about fame. She loves to ride horses and ride her bike. Sam felt that when Danni became famous that Danni didn't love her as much. Sam hated the fame that Danni was getting. But in the end it got better.

Danni had a great voice so she became a singer. Danni spent more time with her music career and it made Sam feel like Danni didn't love her anymore. Danni ignored Sam and so it made Sam super sad and always in a bad mood.

This book isn't as good as the second one. There are three of them and the second one is the best. I didn't kno the order of books so I read the second book and than the first book and than the third one. It was really confusing!!

Sam's big sister Danni is on tour. She comes home and all Sam wants is life to go back to normal, but it doesn't. I would have this book in my classroom for students to read. It would be a great book for a student to read if they have a not so normal home life.
