This is a great beginners book for learning about dinosaurs!

It gives explanations about the three eras of dinosaurs, what dinosaurs lived in those eras, and the overview of the different categories of dinosaurs.

Disclaimer: I got a copy through a Goodreads giveaway.
I enjoyed this book. My four year-old grandson and I enjoyed looking at this book and talking about scary and wonderful things. Including his many favorite dinosaurs. I also read the book myself. I have a geology degree and many of his toy dinosaurs at our house used to be mine. This book has many topics about dinosaurs. Each time you flip the page you are treated to a new two-page layout on a specific topic. Terrible Tails. Arms and Hands. Little and Large. Evolution. Eggs and Young. These pages have many great photos and drawings to illustrate the ideas and points. The book is meant for kids who can read, and it would certainly encourage kids to read. And thankfully when they try to read Muttaburrasaurus, page 65 has a pronunciation guide. I wish I had that guide as a little kid. And in college!

This is a new edition of the DK Eyewitness Dinosaur book. I am eager to explore it with my grandchildren. It is filled with interesting facts about dinosaurs and has terrific illustrations.

A significant disappointment with the book is that it is softbound. We still have our hardbound copies of DK books from our own children. I am concerned that this new book, which was a Goodreads Giveaway, will not hold up for our new generation of dinosaur explorers.

In addition, the cover illustration of a rather fierce dinosaur with an open mouth may be frightening for younger readers. I would rethink the cover art and make it more inviting.

I received this book as part of a giveaway. Dinosaur books are very popular in our small school library and this new one from DK has quickly become a favorite! The colorful images appeal to kids of all ages and there are so many interesting facts that the older students are enthralled as well!

This is a great introductory book on dinosaurs. Good to read with a young elementary age child or an older elementary child could read alone. Full of pictures and great explanations.

My grandson loved this book! He spent hours looking at all of the pictures and learning all of the fun dinosaur facts. He's almost 4 years old. I think an older child would enjoy the book even more.
