Laura Kalpakian developmentally edited my memoir The Red Kitchen. She has inspired countless people to write - novels, nonfiction, and more. Initially half or so if book has helpful comments and explanation of important techniques. As the text continued it focused on more arcane concepts and emphasized potential publication and writing for an audience (others to read the memoir). Some of us at least just want to write for our own pleasure or edification and self-reflection.
