"Would it be wrong to hope that she wore something sexy? I suppose it wouldn't. I'm a man, after all, and men were entitled to their fantasies."

Yikes! This thing reads like it was written in the 1930's. If that wasn't bad enough, the female lead is wildly inconsistent. So much so that it brings you out of the story. Add in the bad formatting and typos and it's just plane bad. It got one extra star from me for having a protective alpha male. This was the first of the series and I won't be continuing with it.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Emma and Lucas. Emma is 22 and owns her own flower shop. Lucas is a police officer and goes into the flower shop to tell the owner about a group of men who are robbing customers at local stores. When Lucas sees Emma, he thinks she is beautiful and he wants to be with her. Emma is innocent and never really dated before. When Lucas asks Emma to dinner, she agrees, but is nervous because he is older and more experienced. Emma also wonders if Lucas will be turned off by her innocence. Lucas is determined to make Emma his and catch the robbers. I liked this book. I liked Lucas, he was noble and wanted to do his job and take care of Emma. I think he really cared for her and never expected her to care so much for him too. Good one.

Short and quirky

Good storyline yet overall quality of writing was average. A few glitches in proofreading and the ending was over the top sweet. Just didn't feel natural. Luca's mom's behavior with Emma wasn't normal either. Bumping hips..... really? With a wee bit of work and more development this could be a much better story. 🧐

Too late for me; save yourself

Yikes, this is bad. It reads like it was written by a bot that was programmed with nothing but fan fic. The heroine’s age changes in the middle of the book, as does the gender of a restaurant server within one sentence. The sex scenes (one solo, one not) made me laugh out loud, which I’m sure was not what the author was going for.

I liked Lucas and Emma.Love at first sight for both of them. Huge age gap though, she seemed so innocent but so quick to give it up. Nice, short sweet story with a bit of excitement. Rather a quick ending. A bit confused though as after chapter 7 i went on to read 3 chapters of Jordan’s book and not from the beginning. Was that deliberate or a mistake? I do enjoy Nicoles writing and arcs. This is an honest review for an arc.

4.5 stars Good small town short romance with a bit of drama weaved in to the story. I enjoyed Emma’s journey that involved her innocence and how it compared to his older, more experienced life.

Sweet and innocent

This was a quick and fun read. I love the way the main male character was shy but bold and wasn’t afraid to ask for what he wanted. The female main character was sweet and innocent, but with a touch of curiosity.

Great read!

😍😍😍

Short and sweet ... maybe a bit to rushed, but a good lunchtime read. Needs more proofing, but still an OK read.
