Human civilisation is passing through one of the most difficult times in the history of mankind. The world is in stress. The situation worsens by the day. Sanatan Dharma: Vaidik Gateway to the Next Century attempts to offer a solution to all our problems.
Hinduism is a way of life-with nature, in nature, by nature. Author Manoj Singh elaborates on the practical aspects of one of the oldest cultural civilisations, analysing how it's more relevant in today's troubled age. He narrates the evolution of Vaidik civilisation, elaborating the basics of Vaidik Sanatan dharma. He discusses life in Hinduism, its culture, festivals, rituals, customs, yoga, Vedas and mantras, outlining a broad perspective of why and how these are significant.
This comprehensive work touches upon all aspects of Sanatan life philosophy for spiritual enlightenment. A heritable past, which has been otherwise forgotten, is revealed here, hoping to make the human journey viable in the present dynamic complexity. This is for anyone who desires to understand the real meaning of living rather than just existing.
OVERVIEW: Dharma refers to deeds, duty, actions, consciousness and emotions but with growing civilization the line between Dharma and Religion is fading away. Human civilization is passing through the most difficult and stressful situation in the history of mankind. We're driving our own fate to our doom. We believe ourselves to have far more knowledge and access to information then our ancestors and yet we have turned a blind eye to the truth about our end. The only way to escape this disaster is to imbibe the way of life our ancestors offered - Sanatan Dharma.
REVIEW: The wishes of a man are unstoppable and this keep increasing if encouraged. Sciences has flared man's wishes by continuously fulfilling them and now that very science pose threat to destroy our World. The only way to salvation is going back to the culture man followed for thousands of years. Sanatan Dharma - a Vaidik way of life which incorporates life with nature.
In this book author has laid down a broad perspective on Sanatan Vaidik culture and comparing it with today's world to give us an overall view of our degrading culture. From the starting he narrates the evolution of Vaidik Samaj touching all aspect of Sanatan life, the rituals & customs, ancient astronomy, deities & worships, Yoggas & mantras and what not. I was quite impressed with the vast information he has collected, compiled and produced in this book with a gradual progress.
Writing style is very good but many areas covers repetitive lines, that bored me for a bit. I didn't like when the book became more religious than it should be, I expected it to be of more spiritual nature and the author's continuous bullying of science is kinda annoying. Though his theories are supported by scriptural verses of ancient texts and I very much agree with the author in most of the aspects but somehow this book failed to produce a lasting impression on me.
It’s a huge book so it took me a while to read it. It’s a book of non fiction genre. I will share the tagline and superficial concept that will give you idea about the book. The tagline of the book is “Vaidik gateway to the next century.” I am always fascinated towards the cultural books and that made me pick it up. The book started with the concept of “Neti- Neti” means neither this nor that. That was quite fascinating opening. The next fascinating thing is author started the chapter with statements of Stephen Hawking. He said that the end of this century, we should settle our civilisation on any other planet. At the same time author mentioned River Saraswati and Pralay. Ao author raised the question about the correlation between science and mythology and how much truth lies in it. I liked the chapters “Nature and science” and “Vaidik time management”. I liked the interpretation done by the author. I also like the era explanation part i.e. Kalyug. And the chapter “Important sanatan festivals” is quite informative. Author almost covered all festivals. Overall the book was a quite different and informative read for me. I liked the language and vocabulary used by the author. Author has explained all the content and terminologies well. It really gave me spiritual influence and definitely helped me understanding the meaning of living rather than existing. Overall good one.
There are very few authors who are not writing for their passion or hobby but for a mission – a mission to change something around them for a better future. Some authors write to find the change instantly and enjoy it happening in their course of life but there are few who are writing about implementations if performed even today will find its result long after they are gone from the world. Such authors are truly working towards a very big goal that you and I can’t even judge by what little bit we know about them. One such author I have observed since last few years is Manoj Singh. He has been a staunch believer of Sanatan Dharma and the practices it offers and his whole attitude is to spread it as much as possible and make people understand the benefit of adopting it.
I am just done reading his first major English release named “Sanatan Dharma” which comes with a tagline that says “Vaidik Gateway to the Next Century”. Before this, I have read Manoj Singh’s Hindi books such as “Vaidik Sanatan Hindutva” and “Main Aaryaputra Hoon” and really liked the concepts shared in them. This book is almost an English translation of “Vaidik Sanatan Hindutva” as I found many chapters which are exactly what I read in the Hindi book. This 312-pages book is going to be a great revolution in the English-reading audience as a book of this nature was missing from the picture till now. Whatever book we read on religion or dharma till now has been in fiction format where the authors have interpreted the story in their own way rather than telling it As It Is. Here, for the very 1st time, people are going to read a book which talks about why certain ancient rituals were performed and celebrated and what relevance it has for us.
Manoj Singh has very nicely drafted this book in 5 different parts where he sets a narrative on how Sanatan Dharma guides us in different sectors such as - Waste Culture of Science, Vaidik Aarya and Sanatan Culture, Nature in Sanatan Culture, Sanatan Jeevan Darshan and Challenges of the Modern Human World. Author discusses how Sanatan Dharma is generally perceived to be praying Idols or images of God and is thus, clueless, and stupid. He, then, clarifies how Sanatan always worshipped nature and everything that is celebrated or performed as festivals or rituals were always based on the movement of planets and change in climate. This is a perspective I have always read only through Manoj’s writing and no author has ever given such emphasis on the importance given to Nature by our religion or ancient culture ever.
Author picks up Saraswati river as an example and tells how it has got depleted due to everyone’s negligence towards rivers and waterbodies and now people consider it as a myth. Similarly, he says that all such big rivers etc. will get depleted one day and people will start believing that all those important aspects of our Nature are a myth. Author then talks on how noise pollution, waste management, population growth, overcrowding has further taken our planet to a stage where it’s becoming a dangerous one to live. Singh focuses on how all of us are become “Just Takers, Not Givers”. He picks up many examples to share and you will agree with almost all of them even if it sounds harsh and blunt. You end up realizing the truth with every chapter.
Author talks about many value systems Sanatan Dharma observed such as importance of agriculture, time management, sanskar systems, Yoga etc. Author then moves on to the 3rd section and gets into every festival, ritual and fasting that we keep and makes us understand why it is done. We know how our generation questions the logic behind everything we are asked to do in the name of rituals/festivals and unfortunately, even parents are not able to provide the proper reasoning in response. But, here, Manoj does it so beautifully that you would want to shout from the rooftop and tell everyone about your new awareness on why a particular festival is celebrated and clear everyone’s doubt. Author covers the important days of Sanatan Dharma such as no moon day, full moon day, solar and lunar eclipse, kuan pujan, tree worshipping, cow worshipping, shraddha, narmada parikrama, kumbh mela, Ekadashis, Mahashivratri etc. Author has also helped us understand the meaning of important mantras such as Mahamrityunjay Jaap and Gayatri Mantra.
Lastly, author discusses about the Jeevan Darshan, Vedas, Ahimsa, Dharma, Shanti and Indra which gives us the major crux of what Sanatan actually is. Author goes into a lot of detailing here too as he explains about type of religious texts, four great mantras of the Veda-Upanishads, basic principles of Sanatan, mythological statements, Om Shanti Mantra etc. In the end, before completing the book, Singh talks about how challenging it has become to follow the Dharma in future due to so many conflicts and wrong portrayals in the current scenario. Author makes us aware of the obstacles we will have to fight against to observe and carry forward the Sanatan Dharma and protect our planet before its too late.
Manoj Singh’s writing style is very simple unlike his Hindi books. I am glad he wrote a book in English because this has made it very easy for people not friendly with reading Hindi texts know about such important stuffs in comfortable language. The division of chapters and brief explanation makes even the complex concepts sound like simple facts. I must really mention here about the incredible research Manoj has undergone to bring such varied concepts compiled in a single book. Anyone of you who has been searching for the real origin or belief on which Hinduism or Sanatan Dharma stands should certainly pick this book as it has the essence which will clear many queries and doubts you had about this very popular religion and lifestyle.
Now talking about the drawbacks, firstly, as I have also mentioned it before, author becomes too critical of science and scientists. I believe he should take a little positive tone while writing because then the writing looks like a retaliation to someone’s statement and not something which you wanted to speak from your heart. Secondly, author repeats few things too much in multiple chapters. He needs to draft his beliefs more properly and ensure that once when he writes about it, it should be so strongly put that there’s no need to repeat it to make readers focus on it more. Thirdly, I find author gets confused at many places on what stand to take- Spiritual, Religious, Practical or Scientific which makes few explanations going haywire.
Overall, this is a very good book, and it has a lot of information for you to keep re-reading this book and get memorized with all of them to follow it regularly. I give this book 4.5 stars out of 5. Please pick it up if you have always wanted to read something which is religious yet logical.
▶ A book that delves deep into the rich culture of Sanatan Dharma.
#Insight: The book offers a detailed description of the Sanatan culture and attempts to educate the readers a deeper understanding of the ultimate way of life. The book delves deep into the philosophy of the Sanatan culture that is intertwined with nature.
#Review: The book "Sanatan Dharma" is a well researched and informative piece that should be read by everyone. According to the author, Hindutva is a way of life rather than a religion. The best thing about the book is that the author has educated the readers about the misconceptions related to the Sanatan culture. One of the prominent examples is that the caste system of Sanatan society was karma based. All these karmas were dependent on each other; nobody is superior or inferior. For example, if the son of a kshatriya is physically weak, he has the freedom to choose his field of work based on his ability and hence will be placed in the suitable varna. The book talks about the conservation of nature as sanatana dharma. It states the Vedas, Upnishads, Bhagwad Geeta and other sacred books. The author throws light on science and nature right from stone age. The book speaks volumes about the significance of lakes, rivers, wells and rain water. It talks about the importance of mantras and yagyas, importance of rivers and trees like peepal, banyan and neem. The different Indian festivals and their connection with nature is put across in a detailed manner. Though it's a bit lenthy read, the author has tried to incorporate his learnings of the Sanatan culture that talks about the need of environmental promotion and not just conservation.
#Lines from the book: Giving back to nature based on what has been taken from nature is this culture's principal ideology.
Sanatan is a dharma of sacrifice, knowledge, meditation, mantras and yoga. Sanatan is not merely a religion; it is a way of life.
#Strength: Easy and simple language. Use of proper examples. Detailed and informative book that enhances knowledge.
"The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious – the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science.” — Albert Einstein.
Human civilization is in grave danger and humans are engulfed in stress. People are way too occupied in work. They don't have time for their loved ones and most importantly they don't have time for themselves.
Manoj Singh, through his insightful novel 'Sanatan Dharma : A Vaidik. Gateway To Next Century' retrieves solution of our woes through Vedic scriptures and texts. The book starts with a fresh concept of 'Neti-neti'. Further, the book is divided into five chapters : 1. Waste Culture Of Science. 2. Vaidik Aarya And Sanatan Culture. 3. Nature In Sanatan Culture. 4. Sanatan Jeevan Darshan. 5. Challenges Of Modern Human.
Sanatan lifestyle was an old tradition followed centuries ago when life was in peace. With the increase in science and technology, the natural conditions have worsened. The author talks about the beauty of Sanatan lifestyle and the need to adapt it once again.
Apart from theories, what I absolutely didn't appreciate about the book is that the author has compared science with spirituality and ancient scripts and has criticized them. I feel that every invention has its own pros and cons. The author definitely had a negative approach towards science.
Overall, it was an insightful and informative read & I would it to non-fiction lovers who wish to know more about Sanatan lifestyle and vedic practices.
An amazing book which would make you realize the importance of "Sanatan Dharma". This was practized for centuries by our ancestors but today we are deviating from it in the name of science which has considered human as a consumer. The above statement pretty much answers to all your questions as to why this Earth is in a mess
A comparison of our ancestors at this juncture is inevitable.
“We ourselves will be responsible to our annihilation”. How true is that considering the present scenario we are facing/undergoing…
Matsya Purana says 100 sons = 1 tree. Look at the kind of importance our ancestors had given to Mother Nature. Where are we now?
As far as the book is concerned, it is divided into five parts namely:
1. Waste Culture Of Science
2. Vaidik Aarya and Sanatan Culture
3. Nature In Sanatan Culture
4. Sanatan Jeevan Darshan and
5. Challenges Of The Modern World
Each of them has sub topics which were explained in detail with great precision. This book, according to me should also be included as a part of syllabus/curriculum wherever it is appropriate since we as well as the future generation should know the great history our ancestors have built which has been erased from our memories meticulously by those who never wanted all these information to be available to the public as the very existence of other beliefs may be shaken but the truth is, as we all know, Sanatan Dharma is a Universal Phenomenon/Dharma which preaches the good things without demeaning other beliefs but at the same time, uphold the righteousness of Hinduism.
Do you know?
The mighty Indus River was mentioned only after River Saraswati (in terms of prominence)
Why is River Saraswati believed to be meeting River Ganga & River Yamuna at their confluence?
Isaac Newton never considers himself a scientist. An interesting point to note here is “Nature can be better understood with the help of philosophy than science”
Some beings are Food for us and we are Food for someone else - Virus and others.
Everything is useful in nature whereas the stuff produced by science becomes waste or obsolete at some point in time. Don’t you agree?
A human is a commodity for science. Nature exist for the comfort of human beings. It ridicules traditions and beliefs which existed for thousands of years.
Nature = Divine (in Sanatan Culture)
Global Warming, Occurrence of El-Nino were a serious warning for us in destroying the nature which may eventually end up in our extinction.
Have we not seen as to how the need of oxygen concentrators has increased in the recent days and also the use of air purifier system at home and some already started selling purified oxygen in cans?
Trees were worshipped in Santan culture.
Why was killing of cow, a barbaric/brutal one? It gives us milk. It is equal to a mother who feeds her baby. Would you ever kill your mother? Those who eat beef should ask this question themselves to retrospect - if they think they are perfect in all aspects because you fail here, miserably. Again this should not be labelled as a religious belief but the reason behind this should make you think and react, if you’re a human and has Six senses.
How did Shiv Ling evolve has been described well in detail.
Shiva - Rudra - MahaKaala (all are one). Creator and Destructor.
Vaidik Aaryas worshipped natural powers. Hence you won’t find the present form of Gods in Harappan/Indus Valley civilisations.
Are Aryans foreigners? Author firmly says NO as there are no claims with evidences to prove it. They created Vedas in India. He also gives various references to establish this fact.
No mementos or symbols from their purported homeland(if they were foreigners) were discovered yet.
How easy it is for some outsiders to displace the major civilisation like India back then? These are the questions one should ask. In my personal opinion, this was devised just to conduct petty politics and nothing else…
These references used by author along with his arguments shows how well read and informed, he is, in the subject. Accolades to him.
Why Hindu is a Vaidik word?
Why is it called Religion of Experiences?
When you finish reading this book, you would feel proud, if you’re a Hindu & if you’re from other religion, you would know what this “Way of Life” is all about…
The importance of rivers, lakes, wells and ocean were described really well. Their significance in the life of our ancestors and the roles they played and their present state would make anyone feel emotional and shed tears.
I can keep writing about this book since this is full of information with valid points and arguments to counter misinformation and false claims. I am stopping here but not forget to mention that I have become a huge fan of the author for his sheer knowledge and presenting the content in such an interesting manner. If you want to read a sensible book which does not exaggerate and mislead you, this is the right pick for you….
There are books that can be read once to find their place back to the shelf and then there are books that are never let to stay on the shelves. This book falls in the latter category. This is one book that is not only interesting but also insightful.
The book starts with the basic mantra of Sanatan Shastra Neti-Neti followed by the author highlighting the fact that though human life has progressed physically through science, the spiritual and intellectual progress has taken a backseat.
The book is divided into 5 parts , I liked the 3rd part where answers to many questions can be found. The author speaks about many rituals that we have been following without knowing the purpose behind it. I liked the way the author breaks down the meaning of Gayatri and Maha mrityunjay mantras for the reader to understand the meaning easily.
Furthermore the author discusses several aspects about Hinduism along with the Vedas and mantras parallelly drawing a connection to the verses from the Rigveda (which is one of the oldest vedic text) throughout the book.
I would suggest the reader to take time and read the book slowly so as to absorb the valuable points that the author has compiled after a lot of research . Overall a book that I recommend for everyone.

Rating : 4.8/5
I highly recommend this book to all specially to young generation.
Before writing review for this book, let me tell you first that there so many things to tell about Sanatan Dharma, no one can describe it in few words. After a long time I have read a book in this particular genre. If you wanna understand the concept then you have to read it slowly. The book is really huge and the readers can read the things from Vaidik civilization, the life in Hinduism is narrated in the book in a very good manner. After reading the book, I must say that it is so well researched. The readers can understand the Sanatan Philosophy from the basic to advance level. The best part of the book is that, all the complex things are written in a easy manner and the readers can understand it properly. Simple and lucid language is another plus point of the book. Overall, a good one and very informative book!
‘Sanatan Dharma – Vaidik Gateway to the Next Century’ is a book through which author has given us the different aspects and the true meaning of what exactly is Sanatan Dharma.
The book is divided into 5 Parts as follows: • Part I: Waste Culture of Science • Part II: Vaidik Aarya and Sanatan Culture • Part III: Nature in Sanatan Culture • Part IV: Sanatan Jeevan Darshan • Part V: Challenges of the Modern Human World
Through this book the author has discussed about the great knowledge that been passed on to us through Vedas. Author tells us about Vaidik culture, how the civilizations started and how different rituals and beliefs came into being. Author has discussed in detail about the different rituals that we follows and the purpose behind following these rituals and festivals has been explained very nicely. Science is a prominent part of our life today and author has discussed about how too much of scientific experiments and relying too much on science can also have adverse effects on us.
I must say that the author has done an in-depth research about Sanatan Dharma, the Veda and how these can help the modern human world. Language is simple and lucid. What I liked the most is that the author has broken down various mantra to give us a clear meaning of what each mantra is about.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to all.
'Sanatan Dharma: Vaidik Gateway To The Next Century', discusses the virtues and beauty of Sanatan Dharma. It primarily discusses how science has deteriorated the nature, and suggests that to overcome from this crisis we need to adopt the principles of Santan Dharma. The author Manoj Singh majorly analysis Stephen Hawking's few famous quotes like the one where Stephen Hawking said that by the end of the century we should settle our civilisation on another planet. This statement itself shows the hidden fear lingering around the scientists and it is quite evident that the constant exploitation of nature has invited this fear. The author criticizes the inventions of science because of whom today the mother earth is suffering its worst. Apart from this the author also discusses the mysterious river Saraswati. We all know that from the past few decades River Saraswati has grabbed the attention of many researchers and it has been constantly talk of the town because of the reality of its existence. Further more, the author also includes about the history of Aryans and says how it has always been exploited by few people tagging them as foreigners. . Manoj Singh does an amazing and detailed research on Vaidik culture and that is absolutely evident in his book. He does his best to include every topic in relation to it like inception of Vedic Culture, Indus Valley Civilisation, Vaidik Time Management, Sociology and Economics in Sanatan and many more such interesting topics. I honestly got to learn a lot from this book and I'm sure whoever reads it will definitely feel delighted by the amount of knowledge that this book provides. Now, apart from the good things I learned from this book there are things that I actually felt disappointed and that's too much condemning of science and getting bit religious at few points. Few at times there was repetition of arguments which felt little boring. Otherwise, this book has a remarkable amount of knowledge, written beautifully with precision and systematically. . It's a must read for all whoever is interested towards Vedic Culture and even if you aren't at least you can give this book a try.
Do you ever feel, we could go a century back atleast.. when things were better.. when there was no pandemic.. we didn't have to struggle for clean air & water.. the things we always took for granted! And most of all freedom..we didn't have to live in fear, bound within our homes..
Sooo..what changed?? The greed of man, became the cause for shaking the equilibrium, the balance of nature! The greed for power & control.
Author Manoj S. seeks to find solution to the present reality through the ancient & rich vedic texts & scriptures. _____
#sanatandharma --vaidik gateway to the next century. 312 pages, divided into 5 parts.
The author has deep interest in vaidik literature & is an ardent believer of the healing power of nature.
Part 1 The text in this book is rich with research, content & information. The author quotes #stephenhawking a lot & talks about the demand supply scenario & greed of the human species which is eventually going to lead to extinction. He talks about Vedas, right to Atharvaved. The exploitation, destruction, devastation of mother nature.. climate change.. Humans are takers & not givers.
Part 2 Here he talks about history, hindu culture, the Vedas, agriculture, Vaidik time mgmt., old & scientific Sanatan culture, dharma, sanskar/ rituals in the culture & their logic, the Mantras, Yoga. The reasons & the practicality. He says the Sanatan Hindu was a nature lover.
Part 3 Fasts & festivals, phases of the moon, eclipse, the worship & the cleanliness in those times. Sanatan festivals, pilgrimage, how people connected with nature & aimed for peace, joy & welfare of the world. Reading Sanatan sociology & eco was an amazing experience.
Part 4 Here he talks of 4 great mantras of the Veda that are considered the 4 pillars of sanatan philosophy. Ahimsa, Dharma, Lord Mahaavira, Buddha. Non- violence is the ultimate Dharma. Also the meaning of Om Shanti.
ÀN ANALYSIS OF YESTERDAY PREPARES US FOR A BETTER TOMORROW.
There's an index too, for meaning of vernacular words used in the book.
🦜Verdict: A great read if you are seeking ancient wisdom in a nutshell. Easy & pragmatic.
“Everything in the universe is zero. We feel the absence of time & direction as we transcend into space, since there is no day or night there. Do such changes not happen in the rest of the universe? Science is still figuring that out. But it has already been described in the Vaidik period. The whole universe is moving in a cyclic form and we have put even death & life in this cyclic form with the concept of rebirth.” 🌻
Will Stephen Hawking’s warning about the extinction of human civilization by the end of the 21st century on earth be true? Is there gonna be a need to settle civilization on any other planet? Are we degrading our lifestyle as much as we upgrade it? 🥺
In “Sanatan Dharma: Vaidik Gateway to the Next Century”, the author talks about the world’s ancient religion, civilization & culture “Sanatan Dharma/ Vaidik Civilization” & how practicing it might help us from degradation & thereby extinction.✨
It is divided in five parts: 1. Waste culture of Science 2. Vaidik Arya & Sanatan Culture 3. Nature is Sanatan Culture 4. Sanatan Jeevan Darshan 5. Challenges of the Modern Human World
The book emphasizes on the fact that living in a vaidik manner might help us to live longer yet fulfilled. At the start of the book, he explains the concept of “Neti-Neti”, Hinduism & Sanatan Dharma. Throughout the book, he stresses on the concept Yoga, Vaidik Time management, Nature, Vedas, Sanskars, etc. 💥
“The very existence of human beings is in danger in the 20th century. We’re passing through the toughest time in human history. Science & its waste culture is one of the reasons behind this.”💫
In today’s rat race when we're battling against dangerous viruses, when nature has wrapped us in plastic, when waste products of science dominate us, this book gives the ray of hope so that we might still save ourselves from the dangerous effects of Science.✨
I loved the way the author narrated the book. The cover of the book is also awesome & feels like we’re reading some ancient secrets & knowledge. I would recommend it.
It is said that this is the era of science. However Sanatan philosophy believes we are in the period of Kalyug. Does this mean that science is the reason behind Kalyug? It is probably true to an extent.
Before telling you the tagline of this book, I would like to put light on the two words i.e. Sanatan Dharma. Sanatan is a culture before it can be described as a religion. But yes, it can be said that religion lies in the roots of Sanatan culture. For Dharma, there is no accurate translation in English but we can say that dharma refers to deeds, duty, emotions, and consciousness. Humanity is the only dharma of Sanatan culture. This book comprises majorly of 5 parts which are divided into different topics(in total 33) under each part. The first part talks about humanism in science, harm caused to nature by man-made creation, and many more. The author has talked about Stephen Hawking and his ideas too in this chapter. In the second part, the author covers vaidik culture, Indus Saraswati civilization, the importance of agriculture, river, rain during vaidik period, Yoga or Yog: Integral part of Sanatan life and Sanatan Hindus. In the third part, the author throws light on the nature of this culture. The author talks about the importance of fasting. He mentioned that it purifies our body as well as conscience. It also enhances and knowledge and promotes purity from within ourselves. The third part of this book also talks about the worship of cows and trees. In the fourth part, the author gives an insight into Vedas and dharma. And the last part is all about social and critical introspection.
Overall I can say this book covers each and everything which is required to learn. The author has beautifully described every concept. Moreover, the examples associated with every part made this book even better. I loved the cover. The language used is simple so even if you are a beginner you can try this one. No matter whether you like this genre or not, go and give it a read.

Ever wondered why Stephen Hawking once suggested that humankind shall start searching for another livable planet by the end of the century?
Author Manoj Singh has pondered over this question, identified the root cause, and suggested remediation through this book.
Giving a deep insight into the subject and meaning of Sanatan, the author has touched upon several aspects of the Vaidik way of life. Drawing inspiration mainly from Rigveda, the author has explained thousands of years of history of Vaidik culture, Indus Valley civilization, different rituals in Sanatan dharma, festivals, ceremonies, calculation and meaning of time, etc. Suggesting Sanatan Dharma as the only way to save the planet, the author has given a deep insight into how modern science is causing more harm than benefit. Drawing a frequent comparison between the Sanatan way of living with modern science, the author has provided different ways of living a Sanatan life that ensures that nature is safeguarded. Keeping things simple, all the basics of Sanatan Dharma have been touched very well by the author.
In terms of narration, the language is lucid, but at many places several topics are overstretched with repeating messages. Also, there is a constant attack on science and scientists, especially Stephen Hawking which seemed a forceful attempt to prove vaidik lifestyle as the only way forward. It would have been nice to read an unbiased account while accepting the pros and cons of both Sanatan Dharma and modern science.
Overall it's a nice book if you are a follower of Sanatan Dharma or have an interest in learning about it. But be cautious to not get offended by the constant attack on modern science.
Sanatan Dharma which means our “Ancient Culture”.The book is only about Hindusim and the way of life in it.The morals, values and ethics are discussed in the book.
In the current rat race world, the values have been ignored. The materialization has invading defeating morals.Hindusim isn’t just a religion but “A way of lifestyle”. It is more important to live rather than existing, this book doesn’t only give information but also educates and enlightens. The concept of the book aims at making human journey meaningful.
The book is divided into five parts and under each part the different phase, culture and development is discussed. Part I talks about nature, science and developments in the respective field.
Part II in this part the author briefs about prehistory life, informations about rivers, lakes and water bodies are mentioned. The act of time management is also stated along with educating about the divine yoga.
Part III here the author has described how nature was worshipped in various forms in ancient age. The early customs, festivities are explained. We get to learn many facts of the epic gathering Kumbh Mela.

Part V this last part of the book brings into picture the challenges human face in modern world. Simple and effective solutions are given which can help the readers.
This voluminous book is a well-researched and well written book exploring the idea of a Sanatan Lifestyle. The book details the origins of various aspects of the Sanatan Life such as calendar, dates, festivals etc. and explains the significance of the various terms that each one of us would have heard, but not have dwelt upon. Divided into 5 parts with 33 chapters, the author has taken one topic and talked about it extensively with aspects from origins, meaning and its impact on us. He also draws parallels with science at various points to show how the civilization was quite advanced in the earlier times. The book is engaging, and I loved how the author has referenced various books such as the Bhagavad Gita to support his arguments.
The book is not a monotonous lecture, and it takes a logical path to explain why the Sanatan way of life should be adopted. The language of the book is simple and easy to understand. The things are explained well, and the concepts are believable with the evidence provided. I liked the fact that it helped me understand some of the points I was confused about. The thing that didn’t work for me in the book was the fact that the author tried to demean the other cultures and tried to show that Sanatan is the best culture. His repeated attempts to show that the western Culture is the root of all problems was something I felt should not have been in the book. He did a good job of collating the information and explaining it, but when it is used to demean someone else, then the charm of the book drops a little
Sanatan Dharma by Manoj Singh is a non-fictional book. The Vaidik Gateway to the next century!
Pick it from the shelves to let leisure become engrossing & sincere reading turn pleasurable. This thought-provoking & insightful book gives us a detailed talk on –
• Sanatan & Vedic era & 21st century • Nature & Science • Importance of Festivals & Rituals • Worshipping Rudra & Shivling • The deep meaning of Mantras • Jeevan Darshan & Vedas • Fundamentals of Sanatan Dharma & Vedic Era
The basis of Sanatan culture has always been the worship of nature from the earth, trees, animals, water, air, rain, everything. Science may term them purely religious, but the celebrations of festivals or rituals were systematized thoughtfully based on planetary calculations, change in seasons & eco-friendly practices.
Many examples mentioned by the author remind us of how we are becoming JUST TAKERS, NOT GIVERS. How during the Vedic era, our ancestors promoted natural over chemicals! Neem datum over toothpaste. Growing & cooking fresh food than consuming packaged products. The descriptions, comparisons & information talk a great deal on how in-depth Manoj Singh had researched the two worlds & drew them in parallel.
The authors writing style is simple. Vocabulary is easy to understand. Overall, the book is good. The only drawback I found in this book is Singh’s constant flaw-finding approach towards modern science. He could have used a positive tonality instead.
Nevertheless, I will give it a 4* and highly recommend it. Go ahead, grab it right now!
The book starts with the topic of the Saraswati river, which is forgotten for some decades. We often forget the basic fact that human civilization develops where there is a river. Such is the proven fact about Indus valley civilization. But, Sanatana Dharma is much more ancient. There is no particular timeline for it. It's evolution as the min kind progressed.
The advent of science, its contribution to humankind with the help of Sanatana Dharma is interestingly explained in the book. Concerning the yuga, the concept of Vedas and Upanishads is introduced in the book. Then the festivals according to the particular climate, profession, and landmass are very well explained. In the age of love stories and myth fiction reigning the literary world, such books give light to the insight of Hindutva and its values rather than just following fringe things. A must-read.
Excellent articulation of facts with enough fine points is listed in the book. The chapter-wise showcasing of topics made it an easy and exciting read. The forgotten facts about Sanatana Dharma and its non-linkage towards it are nicely explained. The book is an interesting read, and therefore it's hard to find any drawbacks as it's a ready reference kind of book some elders may find the book incomplete.
Overall, this book by Author Manoj Singh is a perfect comprehensive read to understand the basics of Sanatana Dharma
It took me a great deal of time to pick this book for reading and finish it finally, it’s been actually hard to grasp the reality around me since last week. Since last week I losing close people whom I have always look forward to due to this #pandemic this was my sole intention to put Mritunjaya Mantra.
“Sanatan Dharma” by Manoj Singh can be classified as both the History of India and as the original idea behind the Hindu Religion (Also known earlier as Sanatan Dharma)
The book starts with the warning signal from Stephen Hawking, that humankind is on the verge of extinction and why it’s actually a treat. Then we read various topics such as the scientific significance of rivers and ocean, how ancient people use to manage and utilize their time, the importance of festivals and scientific significance to our rituals, and what should be our do’s and don’ts.
The book has covered various informative topics and knowledge in just 300 pages, this book is will definitely value add to a person. If this book has been published in Hindi it would have been a much better choice, secondly, it felt like a book is printed for academic purposes. Overall if you are looking forward to turning the pages of History you can definitely go for this.
Sanatan Dharma by Manoj Singh is a comprehensive work that touches upon all the aspects of Sanatan life philosophy for spiritual enlightenment. To provide the readers with extensive knowledge about Sanatan Dharm the book is divided into five parts:
1. Waste Culture of Science 2. Vedic Arya and Sanatan Culture 3. Nature in Sanatan culture 4. Sanatan Jeevan Darshan 5. Challenges of the modern human world
The author has tried to explain why adopting Sanatan Vedic culture is required now, giving an overall view of our degrading culture. The book is extensively researched. I'm impressed with how the author has compiled and produced a lot of information into a book trying to make it engaging for the readers. With every argument given in the book the authors is referencing various sources to support them.
I liked how the author's theories in the book are supported by script verses of ancient texts. While I was excited to know more in detail about Sanatan Dharma I felt that there were some parts in the book which felt repetitive and the author is continuously bashing science. One thing that didn't work for me at all was while the author was trying to show how Sanatan Culture is the best, he was demeaning other cultures. This irritated me and the book failed to leave a lasting impression.
With the world evolving every day at such a fast pace, thanks to recent inventions, human beings are coming face to face with a harsher reality of degrading lifestyle and stressful existence. In this era of complexity and confusion, this book brings into light the possible solution to the problems in the form of Vaidik Sanatan Dharma - one of the most ancient cultural civilisation. This book takes you through the various aspects of Sanatan Dharma, from its history, evolution, cultures, principles, rituals to its significance in the present times.
Honestly, I am really impressed and amazed at the depth of research undertaken by the author to present the facts in the book. He has very comprehensively compiled his points, backed aptly by ancient texts and scripts as and when required.
For me, it was a really insightful read on so many different levels. However, the constant attack on science by the author was something I didn't quite like. We all know that everything has both pros and cons and both of them should be valued. But I kind of found the author's approach towards science and scientific discoveries a bit negative. Also, I felt the book monotonous and a bit dragged at times.
Overall, it was an informative read and non-fiction readers can surely check out the book.
Sanatan Dharma : Vaidik Gateway to the next century by Manoj Singh talks about the significance of Sanatan Dharma in our lives. It compares mordern science with Sanatan Dharma. ~ Sanatan Dharma is believed to be the world's most ancient religion. The author emphasises that development in Sanatan Dharma goes hand in hand with nature while modern science destroys nature for development. ~ The books covers everything that was a part of Sanatan Dharma - nature, astronomy, peace, religion, economics and more. It touches upon every aspect from festivals to social introspections. ~ Books about culture and history always draw my interest. The author's previous work was a good read. This book is a knowledgeable account but the constant condemnation of mordern science did not sit right with me. ~ Sanatan Dharma is a well-researched account with in-depth analysis of each topic. The language is average. The book sometimes seems over explained. The book acts as a good reference for any essay on the topic. ~ This book might not be your cup of tea but you can read if you want to delve deep into the world of Sanatan Dharma. ~ Rating : 3/5
This book wraps up all the concepts of Sanatan Dharma in 300 pages. The book is divided into five main chapters which are further divided into sub chapters. Topics covered in the book includes what is Sanatan dharma and what is its significance. Next is the various elements associated with Sanatan dharma. Contrary to the popular belief that it is associated with the Hindu religion, Sanatan dharma is a way of life and is older than any other religious practices. The author believes that the modernization and advancement in science and technology has given immense power in hands of human beings. Humans in turn, are destroying nature and natural resources, knowing or unknowingly. If this continues then soon we shall have to bid good bye to our earth and move on to some other planet. However, Sanatan dharma is a solution with which we can prevent this impending calamity. Overall, it was an informative read for me. Recommended to readers who like non fiction and would like to know about the ancient culture and practices along with their significance. Not recommended if you are looking for a fast paced or entertaining read.
Sanatan Dharma: Vaidik Gateway to the next century
Author: Manoj Singh
Sanatan dharma is not just a religious thoughtprocess, its a way of life. Book shows how much research is being done before writing. It truly connects mother nature and a way of human life.
History and evolution of dharma is well explained along will all the practices followed by our ensestors. Yoga, fasts, festivals, worship of nature and animals are well framed. The book is long but its contains even more knowledge than it's length. It took long to read but worth all time I spent.
Chapter of sanskar is what I have found most informative. I heard about several sanskars of life but never knew about it.
Also the sociology and psychology is also connected to sanatan dharma principles. I liked the chapter of narmada parikrama. As I knew about it already as I am from gujarat. Still there was so much new even in that few pages.
As the title suggests, book explains vedas in simple language. Connects humans with nature, And gives a way of peaceful life for next century.
Not for on sit read, but for me, it is a book which I would love to read few pages everyday and learn something new everytime.
In simple words jotted down by the author, "Sanatan is a dharma of sacrifice, knowledge, meditation, mantras and yoga. Sanatan is not merely a religion; it is a way of life".
This book has elaborated information on Rigveda, Upanishads and other Indian Scriptures. The author has researched well to make it easier to understand. How some of us have twisted the meaning of humanity which has lead to us today in a grave situation.
Talking about the book; it has 5 parts where the current situation is explained in the 1st part and 2nd and 3rd Sanatan and its relation with nature. 4th in-depth insight about Vedas, dharma and 5th is about introspection. Rate: 3.5⭐
The book is around 300 pages which has a monotonous narrative that makes it boring and it has dragged explanation of Indian Scripture. Somewhere it has repeated some points. It can be good for teens and those who are new to Indian scriptures. Besides long and elaborate explanation is only a minus point. It should be elaborative but with a new point or a new perspective.
Altogether a recommendation for teens and young adults...
I read this book long back ad only reviewing it now. I did not get to review it at the time I read because so many things happened in my life that I did not get a time to do it, but in a way I am glad I didn't review it then because I was so overwhelmed by it and the more time I spent away thinking about it the more I became clearer with the message of the book. as a practicing Hindu and and heaving right leaning ideology in the terms of political aspects as well as in my personal front this one definitely hit home. I always knew richness of Hindu civilization and the culture it represented, the tenements of it. I often took pride in saying that I am one of the aware person regarding Hinduism. I wont say that this book shattered my preconceived notions about my religion or I should say my dharma or karma it definitely made me more open minded. It made me more aware about my dharma.
Author has taken his time to do lot of time to research and that showed in writing. In the beginning it took me a while to focus but once I started I was really immersed. language was lucid. being familiar with most terms it was not hard to read and author also explains concepts along the way. i wish narrative could have been like that of the story telling but that was on me.
in the end I must say that this book is must read for everyone but just for Hindus but to all those who are keen in knowing about Indian culture and what santan dharma is all about.
"Sanatan Culture owes its healthy state and longevity to our love for nature"
The basic mantra of Sanatan Dharma is Neti-Neti (Neither this nor that/Not only this, not only that/No end). In the book the author highlights the importance of Sanatan Values and Vaidik culture which are long forgotten. Inspired from the Vedas the author puts forward the history of Vaidik culture, ancient civilizations, rituals and festivals involved in Sanatan Dharma. Comparing Sanatan way of life with modern science, the author gives an insight how modern science is causing harm to the nature which the Sanatan Culture ensures to protect.
The book was an informative read as it provides in depth knowledge about Sanatan Values and Vaidik Culture. The deep study and research done by the author about Sanatan Culture is commendable. The only negative aspect was the author's constant attack on modern science. Readers who love spiritual nonfiction books can surely opt for "Sanatan Dharma- Vaidik Gateway to the next Century"
